    wood!

Thanks for the compliments guys its as organic as i could make it without digging up an old tree stump and sticking a synth in it {light bulb switches on over head } Or better yet a controller something i might try later with Audio Commander's excellent ACSensorizer project just have to save up for some 500mm ribbon's and find the right lump of wood :) I' ll be back , just gotta pop out for a bit , may take some time , don't wait up. ;)

  8. received in oz thanks nILS cheers
  9. have built this as a bench supply and improved it +/-15 within .01 volt adjustable by +/- 1volt from front panel +/- 12 volt is easily acheived also with correct resistor changes will post mods for both voltages when i can
  10. :)thanks levon received parts start of the week in melbourne would have posted sooner but work really busy. thanks again cheers denis

    wood!

analogue mono synth boards going in are on the midibox side : gm5 ,aout-ng ,core and seppomans dual ssm2044 Lp filter and from mfos :minisynth plus , wsg with vactrol control on the first two generators , 2 x 10step seq, an extra LFO, a stereo pan cct, an extra ADSR and VCA and a single buss kybrd cct I am also including a reverb tank which came from the old home organ i took the keyboard from quite obviously all that is not going to fit in what you can see here I still have to make another matching section to go on top where the sequence's will live plus the extra's stryd multicultural yes haha didn't think of that but honestly it was just some of what i had lying around in my shed i just like using pretty timber :)and its a far better use than gunns turning everything they can cut down into wood chips [the b#%$*#ds !] and then replacing it with blue gum [gets on soapbox ] oops sorry started waffling on about my pet hate :D

  13. would also be very interested in this I do need a scope very soon
  14. I have worked with a whole bunch of american and canadian crews over the years to stir up the seppo's we used to tell them we would just pretend they were canadians They never once got the joke. the canadians always understood so i guess thats the differance. :P
  15. yes modify with 2k trimpots in place of the 1.1k resistors then adjust to your requirements roughly 3 volts up to about 25 volts usefully I guess. current supply will drop off at higher volts and heat becomes an issue at lower volts however between 10 and 18 volts should be good for about 1 amp you do need to recheck and adjust once you have connected up whatever you are powering as the voltage will drop roughly by 1 volt once a load is connected . cheers :)
  16. I don't think you would need to do even that the regs used for the +15 / -15 are adjustable you only need to change 2 resistors on each side i haven't checked it out fully yet but i think i may be able to add a couple of trimmers to adjust the outputs so exact voltages can be obtained they specify at the moment the standard cct to be within +-5% I want to see if i can improve on that I will look into the data sheets of the regs and see what i can come up with they are LM317 and LM337. any input would be very much appreciated :)
  17. Jaycar in oz sell a regulated power supply providing +15/-15 /+5 in kit form from Aud $17.95 each for board and components cat. no.kc5418 and a suitable toroidal transformer cat. no. MT2086 from Aud $21.95 with a better price on multiples as far as i can tell they will ship outside australia if ordering online and considering the state of the aussie dollar at the moment it could be worth checking out. http://www.jaycar.com.au
  18. not that recent Maxim have had these available since about may that i know of as far as cheaper goes it is a little hard to tell when the exchange rates have varied so much in the last 12 months i believe i paid AUD $ 38 each for the max525 and about $1.50 for the 6007b"s late june / early july but then the aussie dollar was around .95 US not .65 and falling fast and in any case i think sonicwarrior has done his best to get the best deal for everyone involved so its probably a little late in the day to go down this road
  19. happy to help out :) google-fu ? nah just got lucky and a high perservance factor I was chasing 1000pf silver mica 1% for a bunch of oscilators and came across that site in my endless wanderings i think it was buried deep under the eleventyth page i looked at . had to open a good bottle [ bourbon ] when i found it to celebrate everywhere else was way dearer or ex russian military requiring a crane and dogman to shoehorn into place btw for any that may not be aware polystyrene caps are quite heat sensitive and i would recommend the use of an alligater clip on the leads while soldering especially on the short lead when vertically mounting them as on these boards.
  20. yes a bit big for some things but they are very good for my purposes though ;) a very large old school modular synth i started a while ago :) 38,39........... :P
  21. nice but yes they really are super expensive. occasionally hongkongsuper seller does have similar but without the inlay for about $1.00 AUD each I am trying to save up to buy a bunch but as i need more than a few hundred it may take me a while. :D
  22. rush online have the correct values in polystyrene from 49 pence each for 1% tolerance and in silver mica also 1 % from 85 pence each they were very good to deal with. received within two weeks in australia. hope this helps www.rush-on-line.co.uk]
  23. :) thanks TK chips and boards arrived today now i just have to remember where i put that microscope lol damn those pins are small. this should be fun :) thanks again cheers
  24. I had not considered doing that , if you think its worthy by all means move it . However i am not yet happy with the way the front panel labeling has come out . I used the process i normally use on guitar headstocks which requires quite a few coats of lacquer over the top, not so good on ally as you can't build it up as thick and it comes out very shiny [see attached pic ] I can dull it down but it is a very slow and tedious process . unfortunately i don't have the time at present to do this To many other projects including a figured maple dining room table for the missus which i promised her as a trade off so i can build a large modular synth .
