Wow great stuff man ! . I love the "modular" way you've been building the Control Surface, it's like a eurorack modular Midibox NG. Did you made special PCBs for each "module" of the CS (faders / Pots / Buttons/ Screen?). The only "bad" thing to me is about general make-up, it keeps a very DIY side. Less screws/ Better cuts / Painting on the frontpanel would have been a great add. Once again, really nice work !

You're welcome, my pleasure =) By digging on each users project i've been finding many user projects i did not knew that existed Tried to compile some good infos about projects / softs / parts / sourcing, many could be found elsewhere, but having some centralized here avoid to loose time in googling and making links between things.

Hi all, I've been reworking many parts in the wiki. Please have a quick check and give feedback =) Thanks in advance !

Ok then ! I must admit your design is really simple and cost effective if it gives good results ! MCP600X Opamp works with 5V also.

Thought you would be interested about active mixers / amplifier circuits , would have given better results to this at my advice.

yup i love alpha ones , think i find what we needed : https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/alpha-9mm-pots/ http://www.taydaelectronics.com/potentiometer-variable-resistors/rotary-potentiometer/ to me also the way to go =) thanks guys ! just the 2M value missing.... -
Hey Phat, did not got it was you when i looked it first time. really punchy punky stuff, i really love ! you're on the left?

TR606 CY+HH Kicad Shematic (Capacitor labeling on old shematics)
Psykhaze replied to Phatline's topic in Miscellaneous
yup,was just for concept. By the way I almost finished the frontpanel first design , i send it to you by pm very soon- I had it divided in 3 : 2 widths for Cym/HH,one central width for mix and 1 width for BD/SD. You will see the potential =) Edit:the name of such plug seems to be solder lug jack plugs> can be soldered direct on pcb : http://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Kobiconn/161-MJ355W-EX/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv0W4pxf2HiV0rxut4lN%252btKJQ4LNm5YrRs%3d -

you mean something like that ? : -

Also , good ideas about LEDs! About the mixed output, i think it would be good to have separated output for each part (HH/OH/CYM/BD/SD) in addition of the mixed one Edit : I would keep SD/BD in plugs internal and Gain pots on its specific panel -

Psykhaze replied to Psykhaze's topic in MIDIbox Documentation Project
Hi ! Great changes have been made to http://wiki.midibox.org/doku.php?id=modules_and_parts But everything is not filled yet. If you have a wiki account you can update things =) Please have a review and give feedback. The links to the datasheets are links to my google drive, maybe it could be uploaded to midibox wiki (dunno how to upload PDF/Larges files in the wiki) By the way when i changed the page name it now displays bad on the start : "modules_and_parts" instead of "Modules and Parts" it would need to be changed . regards, Jerome Edit : Wiki Logo should be changed to the forum one (the MIDI plug) - If an admin could do it? There is also kind of redundancy in http://wiki.midibox.org/doku.php?id=projects and http://wiki.midibox.org/doku.php?id=mbhp My advice is keeping splitted the "Official" Ucapps board in a same page (mbhp) from user projects (wich have a dedicated page). I've put some FIXME before doing it for real.- 13 replies

Bongo Triggers > velocity > piezzo electrete > ain trigger >
Psykhaze replied to Phatline's topic in MIDIbox NG
The rubber foam acts even better when shaped in cone. If you have some noise issue , maybe amplifying won't resolve the thing. giving it a try will tell. Your double mic thing sounds a good experiment to make also.- 14 replies

The example of the heater/thermistor temperature maintainer is a good thing : Imagine a transistor as driven switch for a Heater on Vs. Then Imagine a thermistance that makes Ve change. If the temperature is too high , it will stop the heater. If the temperature is too low it will run it. The range of temperature gets defined by VTrigger- 13 replies

Psykhaze replied to Phatline's topic in MIDIbox NG
About the piezo it also depends on the mechanical setup . Some good pictures about how it's handled in "real" drum triggering ; http://edrums.info/acoustic_1-2/ I don't know about your noise issue , but i adviced by the past a model with Feedback loop : http://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/CUI-Inc/CEB-20FD64/ Maybe the feedback loop may provide some help ? What about amplifying the piezo out ? http://wiki.midibox.org/doku.php?id=electronics_basics#b-non_inverted_amplifier regards, Jerome- 14 replies

Psykhaze replied to Psykhaze's topic in MIDIbox Documentation Project
You're welcome @Phatline , i share kinda the same story. Learnt Electronics in high school and it was boring as hell. By making this wiki part and getting corrected ( By @Sauraen & @latigid on to not name them), i've also made the point about all my old electronic knowledge that i'll have to use in my on-going electronics projects. I am happy to see it's useful to others =) Regarding the schmitt trigger, i maybe did not put the right words on the thing. I'll try to sum up the concept in others words: if Ve is too low, Vs will be ON, but if Ve is too High, Vs will be OFF. The high/low limits are +/- Vtrigger . Does it sound better? regards- 13 replies
