When there's no sid installed i've got 11.99 V into 12V rail with my psu !

Hi Phunk, thanks for your quick reply ! i have tought about this, my power supply is regulated DC 12 V ! i have read into building manuel that for 6581 use, psu must absolutly match 12 V and not more ? Is it right ? But i havnt' checked if i have 500 mA ! i will do it that night ! Thanks

Hi Midibox community ! all my best wish for 2011 :-) ! I have finished to mount sammish sid yesterday evening, check voltage points and continuity and everything is right ! Upload setup into pic and bankstick formating with plenty success ! I'm a happy man ! Last step install the 2 6581 sid and begin to play ... but unfortunaly when i power on, no lcd and leds light ... nothing ! i try without sid's, it's ok i have menu, i check with Wilba 6582, of course i set up the jumpers configuration, and same problem no light on lcd and leds ! I remove control pcb and test voltage, when sid's are fitted voltage are 7v and 3V instead of 12V and 5V into test points ??? when i remove sids, voltage measures are good ! What's happen ? Hi Wilba, i have removed wires between CS and baseboard Pcb ! I have removed all Ic's and after put them each them on by one to test mainboard card. Everything is correct i have normal comportment until i fit U16 in it's socket ! Without U16 is fitted, boot is normal and i read on pcb Preset 001 but when i fit it boot is normal and instantly my lcd become mad and it's like i move all knobs and write that can bus is out no sid 4 ??? But CS board is not attached !! I have looking for a short in U16 socket but none pin connected with another one !! and tested around it and i have found nothing ! I have tested few IC's but same problem !!! I dont' understand ! Thanks for your help. K.

Salut Loic ! quand a lieu ton concert !! moi je fais du live electro avec sammish sid, x0xb0x full mod, tb303 midifiée et modifiée et une MD (elle je ne l'ai pas construite mais pour la rythmique elle est bien :-) ) !! En cours de construction : MB6582 qui devrait etre finie ds pas trop longtemps, et à venir dictéé magique midifiée et bendée, et gameboy !! A+

Yes Wilba i have seen that in the manual and i have checked "menu" button and it's ok ! But the cloning operation happens only when U20 is not fitted. When cloning operation (slave 3) is finished i have the normal menu like my sammich. But after when i put '165 into his U20 socket i have the famous message "No MBNet ..." !! But i'm sure that i have a short somewhere !! If cloning operation succeed is it a proof that pic's communicate between them ? And about contact between pins 3 and 4 of U18 is it normal ? Thanks for your answer !

Still looking for a short ... About "No MBNet response" message, it's strange because when U20 removed, at each boot there's "Cloning slave" operation ! and it seems to be ok after reboot ! that's the proof the Can Bus for MBNet is ok, isn't it ?

About Core i have tested each pic and they are working well ! Upload and midi funtionnality are ok for the fourth ! I have used J11 to select them when i have uploaded .35rc and check version with lcd plugged on J15_CoreX and that's good ! I have tested with one PIC id 0 and i have always No MBNet message. If i remove U20 i havn't it ???

Ok, after have read post about similar problem i have removed U16 to U20 (74HC165) and now i havn't message. I mount U16 i have cloning slave stage and after boot i have normal menu. Encoders seems to work but values changed like random mode sometimes. After i mount U17 it's ok, U18 and U19 same thing but when i mount U20 i have the message "SID2 not available , No MBNet Response" Perhaps i can replace theses IC's ?

About Lcd i have replaced the old one by a new one ! i will try to fix it after !

Ok, i have uploaded .35rc in each pic and i have used J11 ! It's ok i have checked i have this release on each pic but still have the same message and CS leds are blinking in chaos way ????
