Cool, seems like we are already enough ;) Could you tell me the size of the PCB?

Hey Jef, just wanna say that I'm really interested in this project. I will get a vermona drum synth this week and need something to sequence it ;) How many people do you need to start another bulk order? Cheers Lars

It's a 3mm clear acryl faceplate made by formulor (german ponoko) with 16 holes for the encoders and engraved numbers. Was around 20,- euros. I put black self-adhesive foil *at the backside* on it, with cut-outs for the encoders and the led rings. If you want I can send you the illustrator-files for both.

From the album: rvlt's MB stuff
A Tascam remote control converted to a Midi controller. I kept the original control surface pcbs with all the small buttons and leds, but etched a new main board for the big buttons, 7-seg display and put a PSU + DINX4 + DOUTX4 on it. It was formerly based on a Core8, but I updated this to LPC17 and MB_NG. So all in all it has 9x big buttons with leds 66x small buttons 137x small leds (driven by three MAX7221) LRE 8x2 extension (16x encoder + led-rings) hi-res jog wheel 3 digit display 2x20 LCD Thanks to TK it's all working with MB_NG, I can even use this as a logic control. -

My updated keyboard-controller. It's completely Midibox-based, runnning MB_NG firmware. Hardware is a ripped-apart Miditech keyboard, a PSU from an old EMU sampler and the usual MB stuff: LPC17, 2x DIO_Matrix, AINSER64. -

Inside is a LPC17, DIO_Matrix, SD-Card and a AINSER8 (breadboard). -

Nice ! Woohoo :hyper: It's working! I tried it quickly with a "staircase sequence" sent from logic. Now I have to spend some time mapping all these LEDs (137 in my case) I will post some pictures when the front panel is ready. Thank you!!

Re. Logic Control Mode: Is it possible to display the SMPTE timecode / Beat on a regular LCD instead of the 7seg-digits?

Just a quick confirmation that the LED Digits are working. And that without any resoldering, although I had both row and select lines mirrored. Cool.

Hey Thorsten, the LED digits are simply connected to DOUTs, no MAX7221 involved here. They should work once I find time to configure my NGC-file. But there are lots of small buttons, each with a small LED above them. All these LEDs are connected to three MAX7221. They are configured in matrices, so each MAX7221 is connected to a 8x8 LED matrix (well, more like 8x7 and 8x5, since there are less than 64 LEDs per matrix). With my PIC-core I basically used your stribe-project (with a slight modification you told me) and was able to address every single LED. The mapping was a bit "all over the place" but it all worked. If you need more details, let me know. Thank you, Lars
