Eu to na pilha. Tava afim até de traduzir algumas coisas da ucapps. Mas sozinho é foda. vlw

Hi stryd_one Sorry for my delay to see your reply. Yeah, that cable I just dropped it in the trash (excluding the connectors) and I built my own cable. I burned my 18F452 two times with success (program and verify process seems ok) in the PicPgm :) I'm troubleshooting my core right now, I'm in the TEST IN5(ucapps/how_to_debug_midi) without success to see that led lit :s PS: Ironic, after some emails to this JDM seller that I told to you, now he asking me to write a User's Guide or some type of online help file for his JDM. Seems good because he will pay me with some PICs :)

uploading MIOS V1.9F via MIDI for MIDIbox CV
J Martins replied to JargMarbin's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
BSL V1.2B, Sounds like Bootstrap loader already burned MIOS V1.9F, Sounds like the newer version of MIOS was already in your PIC Now I have a thought. If a person upload a wrong hex file to the PIC, the file can be deleted? Similar a USB drive, a harddrive, etc? Is good to know. Any one knows? -
uploading MIOS V1.9F via MIDI for MIDIbox CV
J Martins replied to JargMarbin's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
Hi Look friend I'm not the right person to answer this, but I think your PIC was already with the Boot strap Loader and The MIOS 19F. I just told this because the label that you said on your PIC sound like this. I'm in the same step of you in building my box. In a few hours I'll try to see if my CORE are sending some midi messages for the first time. But my PIC not came from Smash. I burned it myself. Just try to ask him or wait for a better answer. Good luck -
Hello Thanks for the advice Wilba. I already got the PicPgm and now also I got WinPIc800 with a driver for run in Vista As I said my JDM was cheap, and yesterday I discovered on it what a jumper without label is. It come without silkscreen legend and it set the JDM to 16/24 PIC pins or 20/40 PIC pins. Now my JDM is recognizing the 18F452. Unfortunately my first try to burn my PIC had some errors in the verify process (I burned the Pic in the PicPgm). I don't know if this is a problem of my jdm, from the PIC or again this is from Vista. I Hope in this week I can solve this issue Thanks again

Share your early (not-so-great) works! (formerly your first one)

hahaha :) Same thing here with this my first song of my first project made in 98 or 99 using Fruity Loops 2... lol (control surface?? MIDI controller? In 99 here it was something like dream :-) Nothing new in this song, just some elements of trance of the 90's. http://www.4shared.com/file/104493071/8ba3b998/90s.html -
Hi Sorry for this another newbie question(s). But after long time trying to solve this issue i need a little help. I bought a Picburner (aka JDM) very cheap (same cost of the PIC18F452..lol) that works in a serial port (RS232 - 9 PINs). Well, i need to test it and of course, burn the bootstrap loader on a PIC18F452-IP. I'll talk what i did and further my questions. Any help is welcome. I have a PC running with Win Vista Starter (Please, no jokes from you guys..it was free). Can be this OS a problem to use a JDM or burn a PIC? Anyone here already tried to use a JDM and burned a 18F in this OS? I tried to check the JDM and I tried identify the 18F at this apps : PicPgm, WinPic800, IC-prog. Only in the PicPgm my JDM was recognized, but it not identify the 18F, also i did the MCLR/vpp test and the LED on JDM works (in all apps that I told this test is running). How I can get a feedback for the other tests such as data in/out, etc? Again, I think, this problem can be because I'm under Win Vista? Another thought, I built my own serial cable, Linking the 2 db9 connectors with these PINs. 2(RD), 3(TD),4(DTR), 5(GND), 7(RTS), 8(CTS). Using only these PINs is enough to send/transmit data for a JDM burn the bootstrap or I need link all the PINs on db9 PINs? Bellow, some voltages values I has got in the PINS (I has the same values of measuring directly on the PINS of the serial port of my PC). 2(RD)=0.16V 3(TD)= -11v 4(DTR)= -11V 7(RTS)= -11v 8(CTS)= 0.16V These voltages are enough to put my JDM to work and burn a PIC? My last question, How I can test my JDM, measuring voltages on it? Any usually tips/advices and clarifications for this measurement? (sorry, no schematics, only a poor quality picture, if anyone want) I already thank for any clarification, tip or advice.

Yeah, Thank for the tips guys. I finally bought a Polyester type. Core is working :D 5V at all ICs measurements points :D Next step, burn that PIC! Thanks again!

Hey guys I discovered this site a few months ago. If you don't know it, check out. Is a huge VSTi/VST plugin database. Personally, I like these in the chiptune/lotech section, like MrAlias2 and JunkMaster, but I like many others too. A lot of them has professional quality. I think it is a good option to save your cash. Here's the link: http://www.gersic.com/plugins/index.php?daCat=-2 Hope you like!

Man, It's serious? A simple image can has a malicious script or something like? I mean, only in the image file....I will be more attentive for the next time in to get some images.

Hi seppoman. Thank you very much for this clarification. I meant , In the case of I not to use the cap. Leaving it out. In my newbie thought, to make the continuity of the circuit, the solution is to solder a bridge. But now I know that I can use other Cap, one with a near value, etc. Thanks again.
-
Hey fluke, thanks for the tips and advices. I think my question sounds strange, but someone with experience building circuits or fixing tvs, stereos, any electronics stuff, etc. maybe know. Then I think if I do not use this Capacitor, the noise filter thingy will not implicate in the stability of the core (sorry for not mentioned before, it's a PIC based) or it will impair the time life of the controller in general?. I'm planning to play with my controller in live concerts and shows then a decent voltage to turn on my controller at some places is a thing that probably I don't will have. If I leave the Capacitor what I need to do? Simply soldering a "bridge" on his place? I already thank for any clarification.

Hi I think I will not find to buy the 330nF Ceramic Cap to the Core V3(Or a similar stuff as a saw in the forum such as Polyester models, etc, which I can use ) at local shops here in my city. (Please don't tell me to import it!). Can you guys tell me where I can find it usually in electronics junk such as broken TVs, VCRs, Radios, etc. Because maybe the only way to I get this capacitor is de-soldering it from a broken stuff. I already tried to find it in some junk here such as scanners, old pc monitors, PC PSUs, stereos CD players, etc. without success :( The code of this 330nF Cap is "334", right? Any help is welcome. Hey Echopraxia, maybe you can cut another piece of material that you want, try to make the holes again and then put it over the frontpanel e.g. a fader section. Maybe is more easy than you try to finish the hole shape with resin. KB
-
The trick that i use with the Dremel to make perfect holes for faders is to use a old front panel from a Gemini sampler. It is made on strong metal and then the holes of this panel guide me to make the holes on a piece of material that i want. If you dont have something like it you can do the same trick with a heavy piece of metal with perfect lines at the ends. Then this piece of metal will guide you on the cuts. For other types of holes is easy to do with a small drill to define the holes then you can change for a large drill. Then just use the Dremel sanding bands to finish the shape of the hole. Is good to take a chuck to change easily the accessories. KB

Cheap White/Blue Backlite Displays from Hongkong
J Martins replied to Schrittmacher's topic in Parts Questions
Have people today that use all possibilities to make your online crimes. In my country we have an online service similar to Ebay. In this service I have seen various types of thieves. These thieves some times pay a small amount of money for the users of this service to make a good feedback to them. It is scary. The most scary I have seen are people who use relationships networks creating fakes profiles to 'extract' all information from their victims to get their crimes. Not to be paranoid but it has to be smart for those thieves in the digital age. KB -
Maybe this web site will help you proto: http://ledcalc.com/

No problem with help :) (causing an error I just found the solution for you) Maybe now I get an online technical support with my JDM? :P

Sorry for this little error stryd_one. I will try to not do this on my next posts, you know, im very newbie here. But in this topic and in my other topics I just split the tags with a comma and space before them, I don´t know why. Perhaps a habit I inherited from my webmail when i send multiple emails, I think. I think that a little message in the topic post form will prevent this. But, im dont know, these spaces affect the search function?

Well, I'm almost ready to go buy the parts for my MB, I understood much about MBHP already, but I'm with many questions of how the MIOS interact with softwares that accept MIDI messages, the most common on market as Ablenton, FL Studio (This in particular is what I use frequently), Cubase, Nuendo, Reason, etc.. Im doing some questions, as always questions from Newbie and may already have some answers in the forum or on the Internet, but believe me, I use the search function and not yet found any topic that help me. So I'm doing some questions, with real situations where i want to use my MB, any help is welcome: 1) Im using a knob to control a filter of distortion, if I want to stop this knob to control the distortion and start to control a volume of a channel with this knob, how I do that? Simply in my DAW (as in FL studio option "link to controller"), or in MIOS studio settings / MB application configuration? 2) Assuming that I set up my midibox well, Knobs and buttons are controlling exactly what I want, is there any way to save it? Just saving my project in DAW or saving it in a MIOS / PIC / MB aplicattion / Bankstick option? 3) It is always necessary to use the MIOS to use my MB for the DAWS recognize the MB and your MIDI events / messages? If for example, i did a great project in my Daw on my PC and all Knobs and buttons on my MB are meeting my needs, and I take my midibox to play live on another PC, what should I do? Save configuration on PIC, in Bankstick or bring the MIOS studio to the PC at show? Well, I have other questions about this interaction with MIOS and DAWS software but I dont want to extend the topic. I'm still browsing the forum / ucapps / wiki, but any information is welcome. Thanks
