Thanks for the tip. I'll give that one a try. I used to be all into viritual stuff, but midibox opened my eyes :D. It's something about spending time in this enviorment - it gets to you :P
-
yes, me prefers hardware, too, but when it is unaffordable (ob-x) and an emulation is that good, listen without watching and try to tell which is the vst and which is the original :)
-
Hehe, I haven't got enough experience with oberheim to tell the difference in a blind test. But critic listening: There are minor differences that I hear - sometimes - but not in any way does the vsti sound bad. Worst case, only a little bit different, but that is a completely other thing than bad sounding.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 on it's way. Now only a new laptop is missing to make my gig-rig useable again. Finally decided on dell xps 17, which digs deep in the pocket, but will be worth it Im sure!

Wow, didn't realize you could get touch in that size! That's why I use the 12" screen... It's got the wacom pressure sensitive pen and touch. (it's not dedicated to music.. just my general laptop) I think it's silly to purchase a computer w/out touch, these days.
-
nice one, it will be great for battlefield, too :)
-
awwwww, u just gave me withdrawls.. Battlefiled 1942 was the only game I ever really got in to!

From time to time I have fun searching for the most expensive speaker / signal cable I am able to find. Today represent a new record for me. LOL. http://www.oslohificenter.no/produkter?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=28&category_id=16 - This is in norwegian, But if I use a valuta converter today, this one comes up to € 24 264,70. If u go for 2x6 meters instead, you have to show cash worth € 43 996,98. Yeah yeah, I know - there is a dramatically difference ...

Going through my friends list on facebook. Too many "friends" on that list that I don't want to keep track of my every little movement on FB. Some of them seems to have a facebook account just to troll. Unbelievable!

Better make sure that FB, G+, LinkedIn, Pinterest and such don't eat all your time.
-
Nao friend count is under 200 :D. Now it won't take much of my time no longer :P
-
If some of u was victing of my FB unfriending knife, I didn't mean to, it was just because I didn't remember ur real name :).
-
Got a new washingmachine. MMMMM Brushless motor. Even on full speed I gotta stop by the bathroom to see if it still runs - I can leave the ear protectors in my car now...!
-
got a Weller WTCP51 in his lap right now. Cuddles it :D

Had a problem connecting an alarm panel to the computer for programming it via USB. Sent a mail to my usual tech support guy, telling him that when I connected the USB to the panel, it started to smoke and small pointy flames comming out of the big caps on the PCB. Hehe, all lies of course, but I enjoy making him sweat a bit :D
-
had his first workout session with personal trainer today :D. Hehe, I never thought I'd be the one to hire a personal trainer, but it's great fun, and effective - just do what u're told :D.

Nice.. I've been thinking I need the same thing! I don't have enough motivation to exercise on my own.
-
great progress :)
-
thanks :) My motivation is really skyhigh, but it's easy in weak moments to again start fooling myself, so that's why I chose to organize it that way. :).
-
Hahahaha, I just browsed ebay for ssm2044, just to check availability. Before I knew what happened I hed pressed "commit to buy" 4 ICs :D. Hehe, Guess I need to build some VCFs now :P

Here's a link for the listing. More available, from UK. I think this looks serious. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SSM2044-Voltage-Controlled-Four-Pole-Low-Pass-Filter-24dB-Octave-LPF-IC-/120791345713?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item1c1fb9aa31#ht_500wt_969

Btw, do not tell missus. :) She doesn't understand circuits :P
-
has been building studio furniture to go with the new interface. Added a 4 i/o midi interface, a gigabit poe switch. After two week of waiting for the TI chipset firewire controller, finally I find myself searching for xlr cables to hook up everything. Before two would be enough :P.

I uploaded a couple of pics for you to see ;). Not the biggest studio room, but it's all I can afford to reserve for my stuff for the time being :P
-
you have lotsa space for moar synths :) lucky you :)
-
hehe. Well, I have the two SID synths comming around, and possibly a FM too in the not so distant future. Then I probably need to buy another smallish keyboard controller too :P
-
has discovered baritone guitars. Will get one for sure!

What is GAS?
-
Gear/Guitar Acquisition Syndrome.
-
Now everything is clear.

Have been spending too much time actually composing music lately, no time to turn on the iron. The rest of the week my music gear is sitting at a stage somewhere waiting for the gig friday night, maybe I should seize the day? :D

very cool! can recommend the purchase of a standalone sd audio recorder for gig recording, they are getting cheaper every day and are more reliable than crashy laptop sounddrivers :)
-
Yups! Get a dedicated audio recorder or a Nagra if you want to flash.
-
hehe, yes, computer interfaces has it's glitches and pops, no doubt about that! We might have to look into something like that later on. We have had a playing break for a long time while people build houses and raise babies :P. Now we're almost back, with a couple of new members. So it's still rusty - like in dirt brown colored rust! :P
-
Haven't touched my iron (no! my SOLDERING iron) in weeks. Finally I felt the urge to do something, but it's outside in my car, and I'm too lazy to go get it :P
-
Haz ordered some snacks for tiny liny mixer :) stereo pots and knobs. If prototype works I need to build a real box for it :o
-
Haz raspbmc running on TV now. If this really works well, all my needs for a REAL embedded media player has come true!

Its nice and warm here... thinking of taking a bath in the lakes... Nah, just kidding :)

True grit! :D

I traded in empty soda bottles at the supermarket today. Here we get 1 nok for 0.5 liter ones and 2.50 NOK for 1.5 liter ones. I ended up with a lot of people smiling at me and 524.50 NOK more in my wallet than when I came in :D. Haha. Goes right into my secret account (the pig on the kitchen counter :P)

I'm getting too old!

:) yeah, being 30 means nothing. just think of how long it took you to get from 20 to 30. and we all aim for being 100 and run the marathons we are used to, don't we? i plan to retire with 120 at the earliest :)
-
By the time I reach 120 I plan to start work again. I'm starting a new business then - heavenlySound :D

Hehe, my bro in law had his 50th birthday a couple of years ago. We made a song with the chorus being something like: Now you're 50 years, soon you'll be 60 years, in no time you're 70 years old. Then you'll be 80 years and then comes 90 years, and look how steady the stone stands... doesn't rhyme in english but u get the idea :P
-
is browsing ucapps for idea on what to build next, that is after my two synths are finished. Maybe a mbseq... Don't know yet.

for your controller, methinks you could well start off with a MIDIO128 V3 and upgrade to MIDIbox NG when its ready - btw the SEQ also integrates fine into a DAW environment, not trying to convince you or something ;-)
-
Hehe hawk, no convincing needed. I definetly want to build a seq, but that will probably come next after that again, or at the same time hehe :).
-
I have been playing around a bit now today with my piano (I have a digital piano in my studio) and I love good old piano with analog pads on the synth. I found out that I need a midi expression pedal to adjust cutoff on the filter. So that is definetly gonna be part of the next controller.
-
is playing with car mechanics and body work :). Repairing front fender (crushed by the previous owner and a little bit by missus hehe) and replacing a faulty fuel injection nozzle, though I have no idea which one of them are faulty... guess I gotta do a little guesswork :P

yes, the old ones were so rusty, it was fun! The only problem was to get the brake cylinder back, as i could not bleed it (bleeder rusted, too), once again brute force (and some tools) helped :)
-
yep, and here's the secret - the bleeder aint there to help get the piston back either ;) - it is only there to bleed air out of the system in case u change pipes or in some other way have to disconnect pipes. The correct way to do is to use some tools and brute force :D hehe.
-
hehehe :-D
-
is searching for his old volume pedal. It's gonna have surgery wether it wants to or not :D

mah gurl also haz volume spray, ok that was a really bad one *wanders off* :-)
-
Grrls and Brazilian wax FTW! *Quietly takes off to commit seppuku* :p
-
Yeah! All the Old Korg Logos and stickers is sanded off the case. Now I'm gonna paint it, get some new sticker on it, and there's the brand new expression pedal :D
-
Just got home from work. 13 hours straight (with pepsi and smokes included) of installing alarm systems leaves little time for soldering and pcb making when I get home. Too tired! :)
