  1. Lately I've been trying to use the extra functions of the CV-Gate out, specifically the possibility to send velocity with key values. From the manual: When I use AOUT - channel 9 I get key and velocity from the first two CV's out, as expected. But only gate #1 is triggering. When I switch to AOUT - channel 10, I get key and velocity from the second pair of CV's out: 3 and 4. And gate #2 is firing. What I expect is when I use AOUT - channel 9, is to get CV's from 1 and 2, and gates on #1 and #2. This is consistent through the whole range of outputs. All the other functions work exactly as expected, the drum gates and the clocks nothing wrong. I found this advise: And I've scanned through the entire config, but pretty much everything is standard. I use the Wilba Front panel with the AOUT-NG with the DOUT. Here is my HW-V4: https://pastebin.com/M9aXWjEx Am I making a mistake assiging SR's? Or is it something else I'm missing?   Thanks!    
  2. Hello, I was looking for a simple stereo solution for a noise gate to reduce noise of a pair of SID 6581. I know, that is a common thread already here: ... but, there are some limitations for me. For example, it is not soooo easy to get all the parts or transistors must matched (!) and so I was more looking for a rather simple smart solution. So I found the following: http://www.electroschematics.com/250/stereo-noise-blanker-suppressor-limiter/ which looks very simple. But the author mentioned: Would that be ok for the SID 6581? Or is there something against the solution or would the output voltage of the SID be too high for that? Greetings, rio
  3. driving Solenoid

    the concept is to control acoustic drum...or anything else I see some people asking on uCApps forum to drive solenoid from a core module. the problem is solenoid need a fixed timing to have the proper action! whith MBseq or a software you could control the lenght (decay) but you've got to redefine at each note the good value and if you change BPM the parameter change (stretching).   to have the desired fixed timing two solution:   -edit the log (too hard for me)   -fixed circuit: at the output pins of a DOUT 74hc595 you plug this circuit: http://electronicdesign.com/test-amp-measurement/nand-gates-enable-trigger-lockout-555-timers R is a pot Time=1.1xRxC with a TIP122 at the output of the NE555 (1k resistor between)   I build 8 of this circuit for a DOUT for a special project and it rocks! next step is the roll action: one solenoid haven't the possibility to roll a snare the concept is to use 2 (or more) solenoids on the sna from one DOUT output! the trick is to use a CD4017 clocked by the DOUT output and configured for the number of solenoid (like analog seq). to do  
  4. SEQ V4 Line driver break out CV

    Hi Midiboxers, Line driver breakout CV /gates finished i used AOUT and a tweeked DOUTx4 and of course the line driver receiver! DOUTx4 is stuffed with regular 220 ohm resistors for leds indicators and UDN2981 for gate booster. UDN 2981 are directly linked at the outputs of 74hc595 (before the 220ohm resistors) . the gates assigned to CV have two UDN 2981 (input in parallel)  one is powered by 5V (eurorack 5V gates) and go to minijacks and the second is powered by 12V and go to 1/4jacks (oldschool 12V modular gates) same for the extra drum triggers gates:  8 are in 12V and the last 8 are in 5V... need 1k resistor at each outputs of UDN for ground short protection !!!! 3 PSU inside:  12V  for 12V gates, 5V one for the 5V gates /line driver receiver/DOUT/AOUT and bipolar 12V for AOUT. the 5V line from the seq is cut on the receiver. i could have used the same 12V from bipolar but a dedicated 12v make sense cause wanted the AOUT "stability" as usual i've got a  bug :  the CV 1 and 2 have the same problem:  at calibration voltage are divided by 2... don't know why...not the ICs , no shorts, ( problem on the 2 first channel!) all other 6 channel working properly. the calibration "max" voltage is 4V on this two channel is it possible to be a log error? i build AOUT because i've got max525 in stock...  is someone use this config and could confirm that line driver work with AOUT?  
  5. Hi,   My name is Ruben (from holland) and i'm completely new to the forum. I've just finished my first midibox seq v4 with wilba's panel. So far it's all working.   6. Hi guys! I've just started testing of my first MIDIbox as a complete set, configured for midi2CV application. It's based on LPC17 core; aout_ng used for CV output. Currently it's running under Midibox_ng_v1_032 and configured for high-resolution CV. CV output is okay, however I encountered a problem with gate. There is no signal at DOUT ch. 1 through 7 upon key pressure. Sure, fwd_gate_to_dout_pin... command is applied in configuration file. I checked j8/9-DOUT connection twice - it seems to be ok (according to diagram). I see that "DOUT off" when I press shift and "all DOUT pins inactivated" when pressing button #3 on SCS. Is it the reason why gate doesn't work? I can't activate DOUT using SCS. Please, advise how to fix that.   PS: Sorry, posted here by mistake. This topic should be moved to Testing/Troubleshooting

  9. SEQ's max CV I/O capability?

    Heyo! After lots of thinking, I've decided to build a SEQ to become the navigation system for my spaceship. I've become hopelessly addicted to modular, and am curious if someone who use's their SEQ in a similar capacity could comment.    Question one, whats the max output of analog info? 8 cv, trigger, and gate? Is more possible?    Question two, can the SEQ interpret incoming cv? For instance, can I clock the SEQ from a simple trig out of my modular?    Thanks much for the help!
