Marquardt 6425 switch bulk order...

A while back we discovered who made the switches in the Monodeck II - http://www.monolake.de/technology/monodeck_gallery.html - it's Marquardt, the http://www.switches.com people!  These particular ones are the square 6425 series.  (I may also do a bulk order in the future for the 6450 series switches - the rectangular ones that Nord uses.)

A couple of us definitely wanted these switches, so I have already ordered an initial batch.  I can easily get more, so I thought I would open up a bulk order page for anyone who is interested.  You can see some (bad, sorry) pictures of these switches at my http://www.midiboxaddict.com/parts web page.  The bulk order page is at http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=dougwellington_bulk_orders ...

Those buttons look like Oberheim Xpander buttons.  Very nice.

Hey I never knew that Monolake used a MIDIbox like this.  I've been enjoying Monolake for a while, so I just did some surfing.  I'm really sorry to hijack this thread so quickly, but on this page he talks about using custom firmware to control the hue of all those gorgeous RGB LEDs.  Since this is a user enhancement to existing MIDIbox software, shouldn't it be shared?

Anyway, back to the topic at hand:  I'm interested in the switches for my seq perhaps, but I'm concerned about the feel.  I don't want anything nearly as "snappy" as the E-Switch tact switches I used in my MB-6582.  I want something that feels rugged, robust ... Doug, can you describe the samples you got?  How much travel is there?  Do you have exact dimensions on the caps?

I know this switches! The feeling is very good! but!

the fact that the leds are not intecratet in those switches, minimize the range of application! You need there extra holes for LEDs, you cant make "fields" of Switches, you always need some "metal" and place from the frontpanel...

Maybe if there are modells with hole for a LED I will order some!

The feel is very nice.  As for LEDs, please check out the pictures on my web site and look at the bulk order wiki page for more info - I can get the switch caps with or without LED holes.

If there is enough interest, I can also get switch caps with labels (e.g. "1" through "8" as on the Monodeck II)...

I would take this swiches for the Button-LED-Dualcolour-matrix for the mb808:

The holes for the LEDs are they for a 2-WireLED? or is there a change for a Dualcolour LED with 3 Legs (wires)

There are only two holes in the switch for the LED legs.  Since the LEDs are in the corner, it may be possible to have the third leg bend over the side of the switch...

if you only need red and green, there are LEDs that change the color by changing the polarisation.

+- = red

-+ = green

btw. I like those switches, too. it's like typing on a keyboad =)

Are these the same as those on the Little Phatty? The 6450's look like those used on all the nord stuff.

I've never touched a Phatty, so I don't know...  But, yes, the other model is the one used on the Nord...

I have ordered 1000 of the switches, so there is no order deadline - first come, first served...

Minimum order to get this price was 1000 pieces.  I can order as many or as few as I want to, but the fewer I order, the more they cost...

I don't know what postage will be to Germany.  I'm in California right now, preparing to donate bone marrow.  When I get back to Tucson, I'll find out what the shipping cost is...
