i think this is a great thread so i hope you dont mind i resurrected it from the dead. I work for DOW Chemical Western Canada Operations in their railyard i'm a switchman so i'm responsible for building/marshalling outbound and inbound trains. (they must be put together in a paticular order) I also scale the cars to ensure they have the correct weight. I also bring different cars to different areas of the plant to get loaded or unloaded. Great job i get to work outside and be active. Only time i dont like it is on days like yestesterday. -30*C (about 4*F) snowing heavy and 10mph winds blowing drifting snow in your face... at times i would have to walk the length of a train 45 cars (approx. 60feet per car) back and forth in waist deep snow. for 12hours a day. other then that its alot of fun. the yard i work in has 64km of rail on site. up to 22 railcars can be loaded/offloaded at a time. and has a capacity to store about +/- 1800 railcars.

to my knowledge there is no snap to fit female plug... you have to order how many pins you want at a time... I could be wrong though.

Controlling Ableton: APC40, Max for Live - what do you think?
Just Phil replied to Melonenmonster's topic in MIDIbox HUIs
hi ralf i have been holding back building my midibox for this exact release. max for live. i heard about the cycling '74/ableton collaboration during the beta planning stages of my midibox. so i have been learning ableton and max inside out until this happens.. i was originally inspired by the monodeck which I understand you had a hand in. when i saw robert play live here in toronto i knew i had found what i was meant to do. i have been patiently waiting for this release and it means that my whole live performance will shortly be realized. pending financial stability. do the max for live plugins have their own ram adressing? i plan on recording many tracks to long buffers for processing inside the max plugins. and am worried about hitting the ableton's maximum ram allowance. oh and THANK YOU FOR MAX FOR LIFE. Greatest product to ever happen to me. -
GOOO TK!

http://ucapps.de/mios_download.html since you do have some programming experience take a look that the different application configurations and see what one fits the bill best then add in any other features you want. so you can have (2) AINX4 + (4) DINX4 + (4) DOUTx4. BUT you will need a custom application to make it all work together. i suggest you read the details of each module at uCapps.de very carefully and see whats possible. look at all the diagrams on how to hook up each module and led rings and etc... first build 1 core and a few din/ain/dout... then if you want the extra toys then just build a second core... once you have one core in your hands and you are hooking modules up to it things will start tomake sense on what you can do and what it takes to do it.
-
no you need 2 cores. but its easy to hook them up http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_link_fr.html its even the french link on how to hook up multiple core modules together!

And not just midibox related but what do you want to achieve this comming year? finish my mb64e+mb64+midio128 (project 3chome) finish my max/msp patch for my live PA buy an xserve 1u server computer but 5.1 studio monitor setup Finish at least 1 album in surround sound. and last but not least try to win back my high school sweetheart.... its kind of sad that my life revolves around midibox.
