Labelwhore Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Looks nice, with Atari joystick and all :) man, i love those arcade buttons!!!!I really use it as a sample source more than anything else. I want to do another one at some point to where I can automate the glitches via midi. The patchbay isn't really intuitive enough. Quote
toneburst Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Have you seen this guys work?http://highlyliquid.com/kits/decoder.htmlHe makes MIDI control devices for circuit-bent toys etc. I've also bought a couple of his Speak & Spell MIDI control retrofits, which are very cool!a|x Quote

For the next 505 (or 727 if I can track one down) I modify I'm gonna use another one of his kits. I've got a modded speak and spell that actually died after I left batteries in it by mistake. The batteries exploded and it never worked again. The midi retrofit is probably still ok, I just need a new speak and spell. Quote

I have a French one, actually, and would really love to get hold of the German and Italian versions, but I've never seen the former for sale anywhere, and the latter comes up every so-often, but is verrry expensive, unfortunately...a|x Quote

When I got mine I actually got a speak and math too, both of them for like $10. But the speak and math never worked right. It's too bad, because I really wanted that one to mod as well. Sooner or later I'll get repplacements. Quote
Futureman Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I used to do a bit of mods etc on synths & drum machines to earn a few bucks a while ago... http://www.myspace.com/mikesmodificationsThe 707 & 727 can sound pretty cool with the detune mods & circuit bending matrix...I'm not a fan of patch bays, as you mentioned, not really a performance tool.. a switch matrix is way more speedy.RegardsMike Quote
