  1. Thanks! That worked perfectly.
  2. I'm having some trouble getting this to work with my MB SEQ v4L. I assume that there would be a different set of commands if I want to use a usb connection rather than connecting to my MB SEQ4L via the ethernet port, correct? If so, what would they look like?
  3. hmmm... I'm not sure where I got CC# 32 from. Regardless, CC# 0 is bank select, then use a standard program change message to select the patch. In essence, any device that can send patch change messages will work, be it hardware, or software. Of course the other option is to add a minimal control surface because the default function of the menu knob is to change patches.
  4. CC #0 is to select the bank, and CC #32 is to select the patch. (btw these are standard CC values for bank/patch changes)
  5. You may need to double check your connections from the core to your control surface.
  6. I use Miditrix to play notes while messing with the editor. It's really easy to use.
  7. You could always use Ponoko for a front panel. It's extremely easy and pretty inexpensive too.
  8. Good luck! I had the same issue with sections of the MB SID I just finished. It took lots of careful bending and finagling to get things to fit. That panel looks great by the way.
  9. After a couple false starts, road blocks, and generally life getting in the way, I've finally finished the project that initially introduced me to the wonderful world of MIDIboxes. It's not my first completed midibox, just the first one I started working on. I've also completed a sammichSID and two MB SEQv4ls. I thought I'd share a photo of my newest MB SID. It's got a 6582 baseboard and a vserion 2 CS. Currently, I have 6 SIDs installed; 2 8580s and 4 6581s. I plan to add two swidSIDs as well. Special thanks goes to rvooh and Wilba for tips on the CS wiring. (Btw don't ask for me to show off the wiring, it's not pretty in there, but it works)

    127 Arps

    I completely forgot that I said I was going to add to this until I was browsing the forums at work today. Better late than never, I suppose. I added 22 more arps. Patches are labled "Arp 2" .. "Arp 128" The "Sound" column only describes the oscillator sound | Arp | Sound | Dir | Sort | Hold | Speed | GLen | Range | Sync | CAC | One | Easy | Comments +-----+---------------+-------+------+-------+------+-------+------+-----+-----+------+------+----------- | 002 | Simple Pulse | Up | * | - | 32 | 6 | 1 | * | o | o | * | | 003 | Simple Pulse | Down | * | - | 32 | 6 | 1 | * | o | o | * | | 004 | Simple Pulse | U&D | * | - | 32 | 6 | 1 | * | o | o | * | | 005 | Simple Pulse | Up | * | - | 32 | 6 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 006 | Simple Pulse | Rnd | * | - | 32 | 6 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 007 | 3OSC Detuned | Up | * | - | 32 | 6 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 008 | 3OSC Detuned | Up | * | - | 32 | 16 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 009 | 3OSC Detuned | Up | * | - | 32 | 32 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 010 | 3OSC Synched | Up | * | - | 32 | 32 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 011 | 3OSC Filtered | Up | * | - | 32 | 28 | 3 | * | o | o | * | | 012 | 3OSC Filtered | Up | * | - | 32 | 28 | 3 | * | o | o | * | CutOff sweeped via LFO1 | 013 | 3OSC Filtered | Up | * | - | 32 | 28 | 2 | * | o | o | * | ENV1 Depth modulated via WT1 | 014 | 3OSC Filtered | Up | * | - | 32 | WT2 | 2 | * | o | o | * | + GateLen modulated via WT2 | 015 | 3OSC HP Fil. | Up | * | - | 32 | WT2 | 2 | * | o | o | * | + GateLen modulated via WT2 | 014 | 3OSC Filtered | Up | * | - | 32 | WT2 | 2 | * | o | o | * | + GateLen modulated via WT2 | 015 | 3OSC HP Filt. | Up | * | - | 32 | WT2 | 2 | * | o | o | * | + GateLen modulated via WT2 | 016 | 3OSC Detuned | Up | * | - | 32 | 32 | 3 | * | * | o | * | play multiple keys! | 017 | 3OSC Det. 11. I'm not sure I follow. There's no folding required.
  12. Haha, In that case people will just have to wait longer, since I made several adjustments/improvements from the version I just had made.
  13. Sorry for such a long wait on this, but I've made my adjustments and attached my case design. *edit: my file had a few things screwed up. I'll repost it after I get home from work tonight.
  14. Just stopping by to say that my case arrived from Ponoko last night and it looks great! However, I want to make a few adjustments before I share my case design. So for anyone that's waiting, hang in there, I haven't forgotten to post it.
  15. I used the design mentioned above as a base, but my case has sides if you care to wait.
  16. I've got one in the works, but I haven't had it made yet for myself. Once I've done so, I'll share it.
  17. I got my first MB SEQ 4L (of two) up and running this morning. Thanks T.K., Christian, and Smash TV for your efforts. I haven't put this beast in a case yet, but I'm working on a full Ponoko case with sides. I'll share my case design when it's ready.
  18. Somewhere around here, I posted a VST editor, but it only works with the lead engine and has a few bugs. Edit* Here's the post:
  19. Actually one of the 6582s that came with the sammichSID kit is one of the SIDs with the problem, the other is fine. So I swapped out the clicky 6582 with a good 8580 in that kit. It's important to note that the 6582 with the issue was good when I got it, it crapped out after about an hour of initial use. The one I replaced it with has been running just fine ever since.
  20. Both channels are significantly different, but both of them have the same clicks. The clipping however was all me, I had the levels too hot on my mixer. I'm guessing the channels don't match perfectly because one is a 6852 and one is an 8580, even though I thought they were supposed to be sonically identical. I didn't have the channels eq'ed differently from each other or anything. I'm 100% positive it's the SIDs causing those clicks though, because if I put the same SIDs in my sammichSID, the problem moves with the chips.
  21. I totally agree, the instructions are very thorough and made completing the kit successfully a cinch!
  22. It just seems strange that this only seems to happen with the start-up chime, but then again I haven't used it with the java editor yet to mess with the attack times to see if I can replicate it within a patch.
  23. I attached two files, one with the startup sound where you can hear the clicks (It seems like they are usually louder, but that could just be me) and one with some random notes where the clicks are no longer occurring. Assumming they do actually go away after startup, I'm not gonna worry about it much. startup clicks.wav no clicks.wav
