jbdiver
I've got my seq4 running on a wall power supply today. I built an aout_ng board and would like to integrate it with the core32. My understanding is that I need to change the power supply to one that supports three voltages: +5V, +12V, and -12V. I'm looking for recommendations for a power supply which will meet the requirements. I'm based in the US. Here's one I found on Jameco: http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_88402_-1 Would this one work?
TK.
This is a switching PSU with 5A for 5V supply (far too much), and 2.5 A for +12V (far too much as well) In addition, switching PSUs are not good for analog stuff. Unfortunately I can't give you an alternative proposal for the US (in germany we would order at "Pollin" where matching PSUs are mostly available for 5..10 EUR), but I can give you some specs: 1A for the 5V supply, only if a BLM16x16+X should be connected maybe 2A would be better. ca. 100 mA for the +/- 12V supply Best Regards, Thorsten. julienvoirin
tested and approved in Seq V4 http://www.selectronic.fr/article.asp?article_ref_entier=11.4418-9999
TK.
perfect specs! But: Epuisé :-/ Best Regards, Thorsten.
julienvoirin
But: Epuisé :-/ yes i know. I can't find back its box, but the brand is ELGA. parisian people can maybe find some in Selectronic Nation, in their backstock (maybe 2 or 3 units left) a good trick is to cut the power plug with a dremel in order to access the 220V wires. then you fix it in the rack enclosure with screws in the 4 corners. It is molded and a pain in the ass to open
jbdiver
I found a similar version of this power supply in the US -- Elpac WM113. Unfortunately it is no longer produced and doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I spent four hours searching for a suitable power supply. Unfortunately almost everything with those specs is a switching PSU which TK noted isn't good for analog. I did find a couple power supplies which look like they might work. I don't think these are switching power supplies. http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=8001801 This one is twice as expensive: http://www.newark.com/sola-hevi-duty/slt12-20404-12t/power-supply-linear-5v-10w/dp/93K6609 Edited July 20, 2011 by jbdiver

Works great, hard to find though :(
tupinamba
Hey Thorsen, Could you give a link to a working PSU at Pollin for us lucky Europeans ? ;-) Thanks!
