Hi,

i want to use some rgb leds in my project. I am now trying to understand how the AOUT Module fits for this. As the RGB LED needs 3 Analog inputs, i think the AOUT is not usable for this. On google i found some sites for DIY RGB Controller, but as i am not much of a electronic geek, i don´t know how to apply one of these to my midibox.

Are there any links or suggestions you can give me?

For the result, i want to build something like this (just the LED part):

Did you come from Reddit perchance? :) I mention MidiBox almost every-time I see the MIDI Fighter mentioned :) Either way, welcome!

To steer you in the right direction, for the buttons you would want to use the MB64 or MB128. Both can be found on ucapps.de (where all official MidiBox projects live typically).

For the LEDs, you might get some help on the [url=http://midibox.org/forums/forum/43-midibox-blm/]BLM[/forum] sub-forum. I don't think you need to use AOUT as that is for analog output to control things like analog synthesizers, etc. LEDs would typically use the DOUT modules.

You might want to check the tread It's a giant MIDIbox based controller using the PCA9635 I2C controller which has 16 channels of PWM. Each chip can control 5 fully independent RGB LEDs. You can then group them and use external LED driver transistors if you need lots of current or don't need a gazillion fully independent LEDs.
