Hi

I've ordered some stuff from Claudia, but I got resistors of 15k instead of 10k for my core module. (They look the same in bad lighting) Should that be a problem, or is this new?

Thanks

Hi,

thats hard stuff. 15K is 50% "tolerance".

Most of the 10K resistors on the core are pullup resistors. Usually it should not be a problem if you use a little higher one. But 15 K ? - I never tried it but you can give them a try.

If they were sended to you by mistake, you should get the right ones from claudia, I think.

Hi Rednas,

PullUps will work in the range between 10k and 100k without problems, but please inform Claudia about this error.

Best Regards, Thorsten.

After all it seems like black looked like grey, because of the background, so my resistors are 10 k. I never thought of measuring with a multimeter to measere the resistances to put the right one in the right place.

Well, you learn from your mistakes right?

Especially you should never trust the ring colours of resistors!

Sometimes red looks like brown and black like gray...

The colours differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.

So always do a quick check with your multimeter before you get this "a funny smell at power-up" incident  ;D
