Davo Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 After having a terrible time trying to get decent results from toner-transfer paper, I've decided to look into sending out to have some Quad SID boards made. Last time I posted about it, there was a decent amount of interest in it. I noticed that http://www.futurlec.com/ seems to have the best prices I've seen for small quantities. If I order ten, the price would be about $36 per board. How many of you are interested in a group buy? Quote
kokoon Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 i'm interested. but i'm not sure yet. Quote
Twin-X Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 same as kokoon here. To be intrested i have to sell my quad sid to build a new one. But if i sell it it will unchain a flame war here. So i have to think this over. Quote
idiotcountry2 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Although the first order would be priced at US$5 per sq. inch, subsequent orders are US$2.50 per sq inch. Pretty good deal for small runs. Don't know how how shipping would be to Europe, but probably not much.http://www.sparkfun.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cart=425815&cat=86& Quote
DRÄPPEL Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I might be intrested. What are the benefits of having a quad sid board instead of 4 seperate ones? I'm guessing smaller size and a few wires less, anything else? Quote
Davo Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 That site looks good. I think I'll seriously consider them for my projects.Benefits: yes, you get a smaller board, a lot less wires, and a small mixer that mixes the four outputs to one mono output. I considered adding DIN and DOUT functionality, but that got messy. Mounting those directly behind the control panel seems cleaner anyhow. Quote
