  1. Hello Eptheca > are some of them the same or similar? yes. http://www.subfrequenz.net/visuals/albums/userpics/MBAY38912ENV.jpg Best Regards - Lemonhorse
  2. > would you mind uploading the PDF to the wiki that you link to from the wiki page? done.
  3. By accident I got a Roland Alpha Juno. The Juno1 User CS is very minimalistic (80s Style). So I started the MIDIBox Juno Control (JuCtrl) Project. MIDIBox Ju Control @ the dokuwiki: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=ju_control_roland_alpha_juno_control_panel_cs Any other Juno User around here?
  4. Hi Antix, I like this (your first MB-YM2149 board)! :) Regards, - Lemonhorse
  5. Sehr schön! Kompliment.
  6. MIDIBox AY (YM) V2.0A (BUILD 20110909) http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_ym_v2 Comes with new FX Editing Shortcuts: http://www.subfrequenz.net/midibox/mbayv2/MBAY2MenueLCD.pdf - Lemonhorse
  7. Hello Analog Monster, :) Just a hint: You will need all buttons - for it's not possible to use all MBAY(YM)V2 options just with the Value/Item/Menu Buttons. ⇒ http://www.subfrequenz.net/midibox/mbayv2/MBAYV2CS.pdf
  8. Hello Analog Monster, You can assign each square wave to every MIDI Channel (1-16) you want to. Just have a look at the LCD MENU 6 => http://www.subfrequenz.net/midibox/mbayv2/MBAY2MenueLCD.pdf Yes, it's the limitation of the AY (YM) Chip. There is only one envelope shape at a time. But the envelope shape can be applied to one, two or all three square wave oscillators. See LCD MENU 5. The FX Tab: ⇒ see LCD MENU 8: [Fx POS ] ⇒ FX POSition (the Fx tab allow 32 (POS 0-31) entries) [Fx DELAY ] ⇒ Adjust the Fx execution timer: Wait 0-200 timer cycles [Fx (NAME)] ⇒ Adjust the Fx FUNCTION NAME here (see LCD MENU 8 :: FX FUCTION NAMES) [Fx PARAM] ⇒ Optional Fx Function PARAMETER Fx execution work flow: -- -- -- [MIDI: Note On :: Tone A|B|C] || MIDI || || Note On \/ || [play the user adjusted sound :: Tone A|B|C] || || \/ \/ -- -- -- [Fx Option On :: Tone A|B|C] || [Timed Execution of Fx events] || || || || || Fx || || || || || End of Fx execution: || || 1) When a "End Fx" Function appear || || 2) When a MIDI "Note Off" event appear \/ \/ 3) After Fx Pos. 31 (31 => last Fx Position) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- || || [Fx Loop option] || || . . . . . . || || || Fx Loop || || (GO BACK to Fx POS. 9. Thanks for your feedback! :-) Just updated the "User Menu (LCD)" pdf - now it comes with some additional comments (F1-F8 Button) @ http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_ym_v2
  10. Update: MIDIBox AY (YM) V2 (BUILD 20110715) Last Changes: * LCD: Blinking Cursor * Debugged FX Table Function defect @ http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_ym_v2 2 Sound Demos: MIDIBox V2 AY (YM) + MB SEQ V2.4 YM Chip PCB (Yamaha 2149F) raw chip sound no "post production" ;-) mbay2beispiel1.mp3 mbay2beispiel2.mp3 - Lemonhorse
  12. Let me introduce You the MIDIBox AY (YM) V2: => http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_ym_v2 What is new? * Thanks to Antix there is an YM 2149 (AY-3-8910) Board => http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_3_8912_board * There is a new CS with Buttons (no C64 Keyboard anymore) => http://www.subfrequenz.net/midibox/mbayv2/MBAYV2CS.pdf
  13. Hi - checked all 10 PCB bridges (are they all existent)? - checked all digital inputs (Button pressed: 0V, Button depressed +5V @ D0 to D7)? SOLVED :-)
  14. Just found another helper: yEd is a freely available, general-purpose diagramming software with a multi-document interface. It is a cross-platform application written in Java that runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, or any platform that supports the JVM. yEd can be used to draw different kinds of diagrams: flowcharts, network diagrams, UML diagrams, BPMN diagrams, mind maps, organization charts, Entity Relationship diagrams, and many other. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YEd
  15. Hello Nebula, I have no objections. It's just because the modular concept is a little more flexible in some way. I mean you can (re)use one and the same mixer module with a adequate Soundchip PCB (AY-3-8910, AY-3-8912, YM2149).
  16. Great news - You have my full support for the 8910 board! :-)
  17. Hello Nebula, The AY-3-8910 has two general purpose 8-bit I/O ports and is supplied in a 40 lead the AY-3-8912 has one port and 28 leads. All IOA and IOB (I/O ports) = N.C. All Test pins = N.C. /A9 = 0V (ground)
  18. MIDIBox AY (YM) V2 - Forecast II (still planning phase) * I will remove the C64 keyboard and try to design a new CS with Buttons (just ordered Buttons ;-) * I think the MB AY (YM) V2 will be stuffed with the 18F4685 (a lot of programming space to play around)
  19. MIDIBox AY V2 forecast: Got a problem with PIC 18F4620 (glitch noise at increased MIDI traffic). There is no such problem with the same Software @ PIC18F452 (but i can not use the 18F452 for further development - not enough Program Memory) Next step: I will buy a PIC18F4685 for a cross-check.
  20. Im in the initial stage of a PIC 18F4620 based MIDIBox AY. First I got to review/clean up my old asm Code (will take some time) - after that I will try to implement Navigation Buttons... So no hurry ;-)
  21. Hello Analog Monster! > do I have to break up a c64 to get the keyboard or can I get away with using midi only? Here is a List of MIDIBox AY CC Parameter: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_3_8912_cc_list Without C64 Keyboard: - No Fx Option (http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=midibox_ay_3_8912_fx) - You can not save patches - No LCD Menu Navigation > is there an alternative controller such as building a matrix keypad interface? No. But buttons are on my TODO LIST now (Perhaps It will come with a PIC18F4620 Update) - Lemonhorse
  22. hi grizz, for the default setup try setup_pic18f4685_mbfm_v1.hex (or setup_pic18f452_mbfm_v1.hex).
  23. It's so much fun to gamble with the random generator!
