hi Sascha, es geht!  :) ...ich hab das "BankSwitching" mit einen mechanischen 12positionen-3layer-endlos-drehschalter (von reichelt.de) realisiert - für die verbindung zu den "internen" eeproms oder zu den "externen" eeproms(Banksticks) musst du jeweils den Pin 5 + 6 des gewünschten eeproms (24256) zum PIC (CORE J4) schalten - das sind SC und SD siehe: [http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_bankstick.html]  ...hier noch ein link zur betreffenden MidiBox64: [http://www.subfrequenz.net/techlog/mbox64b.htm] viel spass beim löten! - lemonhorse

hi J, yes - preset controls for MB64 navigation (with no LED's)... J4: the buttons F1, F2, F3 & F4 Â come with no LED's - but they are freely programmable. it seems right to me - but I have no experience with more then 32 buttons (1x DINX4)... i just found this: "to connect up to 40 buttons = 5 ICs = 1 DINX3 and 1 DINX2 module" (TK) souce: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_din.html -L

just BTW: ...sometimes it's helpful to work with the LCD-Display - or do you never need any bank (24256 eeprom) information? - or the state (values) of the MB64 Pots/MB64-Sequencer?

Klose) http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_din.html But there are 4 predefined MB64 buttons:  - Snapshot (Special Function Button) - Exec (execution) - Right (navigation) - Left (navigation) In that case you have 36 free assignable buttons (+4 predefined buttons) provided by the DIN modules (hope my thoughts are correct - i only realised a MB64 with just 32 buttons...) ...furthermore you have 64 potential "AIN-buttons" through 2x AINx4 http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_ainx4_64pots.pdf addendum: "The MIDIO128 interface enables you to drive up to 128 digital output pins and to react on up to 128 digital input pins via MIDI" (connection for a lot of buttons...;)) - perhaps it's a solution for your needs to combine the MB64 with the MIDIIO128... http://www.ucapps.de/midio128.html best regards, - lemonhorse  Â

If you assign META Events to the buttons - you're able to use special internal MB64 functions. This table contains all available Special Functions and parameters: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox/midibox64_sfb_table.txt Another usefull MidiBox button feature is the "Toggle Mode": when a button is configured for toggle mode and you press the button once there will be a "Note on (for example)" midi-message - and if you press the button the second time = there will be a "Note off" midi-message - so the button act like a "toggle switch". It's funnny somehow - but you can "emulate" the DIN "toggle mode button" by using a toggle switch in conjunction with the AIN modul - so (in my view) there is no problem in the end ;D Traktor: ...unfortunately I'm not a Traktor user (jet). So you must take over Thorsten...  ;) Â

hi Rogic, there is a way to have more then 32 buttons - just connect buttons instead of pots to the AIN module - there is a description how it works in this Forum: Topic: "AIN: potmeter/button" Â from Captain Hastings. :) remark: some special functions (MB64: META Events, Shortcuts...) are only implemented to the "real" (DIN-Modul) buttons... - lemonhorse

hi dendy, i actually had the same problem with my 2nd MB64 [http://www.subfrequenz.net/techlog/mbox64b.htm] ...at last i found out that a hidden disconnected soldering joint (one of the 9 bridges @ the AINX4) was the reason of the "random data" on midi out - so may it can help you to verify all soldered connections - bridges, pots and connectors once again... good luck!

Hi Rob, perhaps a silly question - but is the "To-COM" option = "no"? To find out have a look @ ***MainMenu*** >> Merger On/Off [press: the Exec button] >> MIDI Merger: On (or off) - and there is a second option "To-COM": must be no if you use a normal MIDI-Connection! - "yes" if you use the COM-Port (RS-232) - connection! Don't give up ! :) - lemonhorse

hi bass! > does anybody know if mikes site is up and running ? yes i think so - i allready received MidiBox64 PCB's from mikes site  :D ...maybe i can navigate you a little bit throught the "german jungle" of mikes site (with my lousy english...)  ;) http://www.mikes-elektronikseite.de/midishop/ ...now you are @ mikes site... to get the list of Thorstens MBHP PCB Mudules click : "Midiplatinen - Pertinax" - there is a form - all the MBHP PCB's can be found at this form - so now you are able to choose the MBHP Modules you need.  there is a input box on the right side of the form - there you can enter the wanted quantity of the PCB Modules - next to the quantity number form box is a little icon - if you roll with your mouse over the icon the message: "in den warenkorb" = "put it in the trolley" apears - if you click the icon it means, that you really want to order the PCB. If you clicked the icon it appears a message: "Artikel zum Warenkorb hinzugefügt!"  "~The PCB is now in your Trolley!" - so you can click "ok". If you finished your PCB-selection you can click the hyperlink "Warenkorb" (= basket of goods) [the hyperlink is located at the top of the page] - click the hyperlink - so you can have a look what is in your trolley. On this page is a selection "Inland (Deutschland)" = "Germany" in your case choose "Ausland" = "foreign country" then click "Jetzt bestellen..." it means "I want to order now...". so click it - now there is the "Bestellen"(= order)-page. you'll see the list of your selected PCB's again.  but look out - you must tickmark the two first little form boxes - then you have to click the "Weiter >>" ( = forward >>) Button. Now there is a new form - there you have to insert the personal data for the shipping and the data for donation... ...maybe this tool can help you through the form - it's a german english online dictionary  8) http://dict.leo.org/ good luck! :)
