    Simple Questions

Hi Yes 1 PS for both is fine 15V Yes the 7805 does heat up so... wack a heatsink on it to be safe (mine is running fine without it at the mo but will put one on soon LO
  2. dont you need to conect them thru the AIN module??
  3. Thanks!!! ;D
  4. This is true my 8580 stays ice cold! even after +30mins of repeating a sequence. The 7805 on the core is another story tho! I think its about to melt a hole in my PCB! Are you guys suppling 15v before the reg to the SID? I read somewhere it needs that to get a clean sound?!
  5. Hi I was playing with the MB_SID (18F) last night & tried loading the presets in from JSynth which seemed to work just fine, but....... about half of the presets are OK & the other half sound really crazy (different to when I was running a 16F) The "crazy" ones all sound like a helicopter or something, modulation perhaps?? They are randomly scattered  throughout the patches ie. P1 is no good P2 is fine etc and all the new patches at the end of the presets sound like this! [glow=red,2,300]Weird![/glow] When I play them from within Jsynth they are still weird Any ideas???
  6. Thanks, ill try it tonight hopefully Mios? yes I will switch back to the 18F (as soon as possible) Its just that ive been working on this particular box for many months and never seen it all running all at once! I had no problems with the MB64 and Mios or the SID and mios but when I tried the MF module........*#@$*! I tried swapping the call pot instruction with call faders instruction it appeared to be OK until I moved a fader and then my LCD filled with weird stuff and midi messages went crazy (midi-OX) I also tried the MF calibration test but couldnt understand how that worked; no faders moved and it didnt seen to make any diference if I changed settings on the LCD with the menu buttons. Best regards LO
  7. Hi I have two cores one running MB64 firmware 16F the other with the MF firmware 16F (I was running the 18F but was getting all sorts of errors) I want to use the LTC to supply the midi data. is this possible? The reason I ask is that the LTC module plugs in to the core at the same socket as the MB_Link is suppose to use! Perhaps the MB_Link only works when using standard Midi connections not LTC? thanks LO

    Cables

Hi Ribbon cable is good for most things as its very flexible and fits in to small gaps in your case. or coloured hook-up wire doent really matter as it low current and voltage Use sheilded cable if your gonna run cables over a distance
  9. sounds like its workin! you may need to connect either pots to the AIN's or earth the input pins. (if you havent already) :D
  10. Yeah as long as you have a bankstick and use the virtual midibox editor thingy, it was spose to work just as you say. I never tried to set it up tho as the 18F came along & the MIOS now im struggling with that! out

  15. That's great news Thanks :D
  16. haha ;D depends on what you need it for? I have only used pot's cause I could get them alot cheaper. You could just build a MB16? Good luck tho! LO
  17. Huh???? Are you using pots or encoders?
  18. You can just ring them! But they dont accept creditcards from outside US so need to use money order or sim, they are very helpful though. LO

  20. which encoders did you use? How many detents do they have?
  21. Reburn the PIC if you want, or if your using Jsynth load the ini patch to your SID The SID has 1 internal patch which is stored even after power off. LO

  23. yep! but I think You need an DIN board.
  24. Hello I was wondering if it was possible to edit a MIOS box using the virtual midibox software? When I turn a Knob at present it just reads AIN or DIN not really very descriptive! I have a bankstick and am pretty sure that it was possible on MB64_16F versions to name a POT/Button so that when it was turned it displayed the name and value on the LCD MIOS is very confusing at the moment! hope it gets easier ??? Cheers LO
