  1. i suppose most of you know rockband or guitar hero games. there's a nice drumset which is sold on ebay pretty cheap since i do not know anyone who has this game to try... do someone know if there is a MIDI output in the drum set? do you know any hack to use this as a MIDI controller, maybe along with a MIDIBOX? the big question is: which kind of signal do the PAD output? are they simple on/off swithces or are they velocity sensitive? in the first case a "simple" hacking to connect the pad on/off signal to the MB core would be suffient, or not? any other ideas?
  2. io ho il seq V2 ma anche io ho lo stesso problema di timing. non ho mai capito se sono io ad essere fuori tempo (può essere...) o se c'è qualche altro inghippo...
  3. solved! actually, it was just a bad solder (maybe more than one...). it's strange because, as i said, i'm pretty sure some months ago it worked and, with the tester, the connections seemed OK. i just renewed the solder of out 1 and 4 thanks!
  4. actually IC2 (eeprom ,rigth?) is not connected.
  5. i have built the gm5x5x5 some months ago: i remember i tested it and it worked. now i have rebuilt my studio and i finally connected the gm5x5x5 to the PC. the problem is that it seems that the out ports 1 and 4 dont work. all the input ports are working and the 2,3,5 out ports are ok. to test this is used th esame midi cable, connected to an external synth. the midi out signals are sent only if the cable is connected to out ports 2,3,5. also, the LEDs do not seem to behave in a "normal" way. i checked the connections and they seem ok (but there MUST be something wrong!!). i also tried to exchange the IC 74HC14 but without success i'm using the bulk order pcb board, so everything should be straightforward... :( do you have any ideas??
  6. i just started to test my gm5x5x5 on win XP SP3 ("normal internet system") and SP1 (audio system) with the 1.0.6 driver everything seems fine with the new 1.0.7 i was not able to rename the port names and, moreover, sonar 6 sees just 1 midi output and 5 midi inputs. midiox, on the other hand, correctly sees all the 5 ins/outs i revert to 1.0.6 and now everything is OK.
  7. all the pots are about 0.5 kG for the price place an offer (for everything) , considering to add shipping cost (i'm in italy). for me this is almost garbage! ;) shipping costs for just the pots: priority mail (not registered) 6€ EU 9€ outside EU 12€ australia registered envelope: 13€ EU 18€ outside EU 24€ australia these are the pots specs:
  8. caps values should be: ap values should be 220 pF there a huge number of these, several hundreds, probably a thousand - it is the big block of blue caps 4,7 nF - 10 22,3 nF - 20 10 nF - about 100 3.9 nF - 20 680 pF - 12 22 nF - 14 about 300 caps i cannot measure. they are the tiny caps on the strip in the upper left corner of the second cap photo. on them it is written "1PD" (or at least this is what i read!)
  9. something is interested to this stuff? is not really midibox related, its part of a stock i purchased. you make the price! (consider also the shipping cost!) contact me if you want some additional info connectors: caps: faders. they range from 1K to Mohm. there are no 10K faders :( if you are interested i can give you the specs
  10. sorry, the chip was already sold!
  11. Hi! i will enquire about shipping cost...
  12. the flux was very essential in this!! it was easier than i though, however!
  13. i'm selling on gm5 chip: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,13424.0.html
  14. i'm selling one GM5 ploytec chip after i finished my gm5x5x5 board i bought 2 of them just to be sure in case of some soldering accident... :P now that the gm5x5x5 is working, i have one spare chip to give away. i sell it for 3.5 euro + shipping (EU is better - italy even more! - but i have to check for the shipping cost!) paypal accepted!
  15. i replaced today my home made ribbon sensor with a spectra symbol softpot (30 cm long). it is much more reliable and precise. for a ribbon controller, i'd suggest the soft pot solution + the AC sensorizer...

  17. db50xg are quite rare and pretty expensive. i never found ebay auctions below 50€ or so.... i think that 50€ for a computer stuff more that 10 years old and unusable on modern PC are a lot of money!! :D the reason is that the daughterboard can be used also in masterkeyboards such as oberheim MC1000 or similar, in order to get new sounds. anyway, if i could find one for very low money, i would definitely buy it! :P
  18. some infos and layout here: http://www.frontiernet.net/~rlsnuffy/db50xg/db50ext.zip
  19. if it is so, i will buy one! please report! ;)
  20. maybe here there are some info about how to use the softpot touchpad. don't know for sure, i'm not an expert... http://reseau.erasme.org/Interactive-Globe-technical look for "Touchpad handling"
  21. well, thank you, but maybe it would be better to add myself to an order, so that we can divide 50/50 the shipping costs... or if you want i could even pay the entire shipping costs for you to thank! let's wait to see if there is someone... as i said i'm not in hurry!
  22. i'd like to buy something from Reichelt but, since i'm in italy, i have a minimum 150€ order. would someone based in germany buy the things and send them to me after a paypal payment? i'm not in hurry (actually i dont' know when i will start building the gm5x5x5...) but i would buy the components anyway. if someone is buying from Reichelt for himself, could please also add my order too?! :P thanks!
  23. will this work with the AC sensorizer? i dont understand: the output signal (XY) is analog or digital?
  24. the parcel arrived today! thanks!
