I thought it was 16bit broken down into 4 bits for resonance and 12 bits for cutoff?
-
No need to shout, I'm right here. (Plus you may have noticed I replied to that post, so I'm aware of the news :) ) Yeh but you don't need to buy it now, the application isn't released yet... Plus there's no guarantee that the sample will be the new rev. Hehehe I wasn't serious about buying your fs1r, just kinda saying that they're nice :)
-
Wanna sell that fs1r? ;) hehehe I'm in the same boat. I think it's a fair assumption based on TK's style of coding that the synth will work independently of the control surface, but of course TK is the one to answer that. I was just going to wait until it was out and ask, but seeing as it's out there... ;) None. Buy one you cheapskate! You spent all that money on SIDs, so obviously you knew it was not a free synth ::) Show Microchip the respect they deserve... Then again... they ignored TK for so long with the EUSART bug he found, maybe they deserve to be ripped off by hordes of DIY nutters ;) But keep this in mind - if too many people order samples they might stop making them available - it happened with the 452 for a while.... If you've got the money for 8 SIDs I think you should be able to find the money for the PICs you need to drive them, and if you couldn't afford the PICs you probably shouldn't have started a project you didn't have the resources to complete. Anyway you'll probably ignore me so I might as well answer your question and tell you you need the ones that end in ' - I/P' ;) The PIC18LF is the low voltage version of the PIC18F and is also suitable.

Panning Stereo Mixer for 4xSID + Headphone out

Are you going to make it digitally controllable? Otherwise you'll have to memorise the mixer settings for every patch! -
Something is stopping power and lowering it to the half . .

I did, but I asked anyway, as sometimes the problems evade us, and your troubleshooting hadn't seemed to work so far, so it seemed like maybe something had been missed. Not at the MIDI in though.... Didn't you say the LED doesn't flicker? -
That's great news TK :) It seems that after all, they had heard your comlaints, but just decided not to say anything ::) I wonder if they will have introduced another new bug for you to work around? ;) heheheheh

Yeh, the thing i was swinging around, was actually something I made many many years ago, from a modified recipe in the original anarchists cookbook (I'd love a copy of that now!)... It's the kind of thing that goes "BANG", but not the way you mean ;D Further details withheld to protect the very, very guilty....heheheehhe -
Try MIOS.H line 71? Edit: Sorry, this was intended as a place to start looking, not as a parameter to change!! As TK said below, never change these!

Sweet! Nice one TK! Now I'm going to have to go watch it a few dozen more times ;) Man it's incredible what these things can do!

Assume nothing ;) When troubleshooting it is imperative to do things one at a time. Go to this page http://www.ucapps.de/howto_debug_midi.html Perform all of the tests, in that order, one by one, and report your findings. -

I used to use centrifugal force to pull bubbles out of a thick mixture, by swinging it around my head in some ladies hosiery... maybe something like that is a trick that could work? -

Oh I thought they were that silicone stuff... now I see, it's a flexible mold made of silicone and fibreglass resin. That durcal gives it a really nice opaque look :) PM coming your way! -
;; define the pin which should be used as external clock output here ;; DEFAULT_EXT_CLK_LAT can be LATC (Pin 0, 1, 2, 4, 5) or LATD (Pin 4) ;; Note that this should be an exclusive pin. E.g., if an AOUT module is ;; be connected, LATC.5 and LATD.4 are already allocated. If an AIN module ;; is connected, LATC.0, .1 and .2 are already allocated ;; if a second LCD is connected, LATC.4 is already allocated ;; The external pin is disabled with DEFAULT_EXT_CLK_LAT == 0 #define DEFAULT_EXT_CLK_LAT LATC #define DEFAULT_EXT_CLK_PIN 0 Pick a pin that suits you :) If you're not using touch sensors, and want to keep the AIN's available, I'd use D4...

Hey just so you know, they just got approved by the wife ;) That's very unusual! Oh, and she also said, "They'd make a good night-light" hahahahaah -
Yeh, kick ass!

c'est bon!! ;D That looks pro! Maybe we should talk about numbers and prices in PM? -
Dudes I'm sorry I haven't been up to scratch on delivering this.. I'm just getting thrashed at work, I'm doing my third 75+ hour week in a row. I know this might seem strange, because you see me on here all the time, but that's what I do with all my free time, and it's what I do when I need to take a break. Gets my mind off work for a bit so I can get back and concentrate harder :) Anyway I thought I'd also mention that I'm toying with another feature at the moment, which is using program change, CC and MIDI Note messages to program the module. This means no CS required for a lot of boards (it's already on there) and also that you could use external devices (footswitches, sequencers, etc) to enable/disable/change keysplits and such. Good news aside, I'm honestly sorry I haven't been able to find time to do this. I'm on call this weekend, so I'm trapped behind my laptop, so if the phone stays quiet, maybe by monday...But maybe not :( I am trying hard, but just can't make any promises. I wish I hadn't come up with those extra ideas! Okay here's what I'd reaallllly love to put on it and reallllly don't have time to research - mapping notes to scales. The code is easy, the algorithm is the tricky bit. Anyone game to give this a try while I'm sorting out the rest? Edit: I'll post the concept documents to the wiki tomorrow.

Bitchin! I'm so impressed Moxi! Every now and then, I see someone DIY something, and think to myself "I had no idea you could even do that... how cool!", and this is one of those times :) Call me weird but for some reason I don't mind the little bubbles... Kinda adds character :) It probably helps to disperse the light too.... The price is more than reasonable. I know it's not-for-profit, but you should take a little, for your time perhaps... Forgive me if I am out of line in suggesting that. How many of these things are you willing to make up though? If I were to buy some, it would need to be quite a few... I don't want to be annoying :) Another thought... could we pay extra and put tricolour LEDs in them? Please don't think I'm begging though... I can clearly see that you have gone to some degree of trouble, so there's no pressure, I'm just curious :) -
Oh it's one of those things... I'll put that in my "don't bother until something goes wrong" bag ;)

You should use the search and the wiki to get started. Sounds like you might be interested in the Midibox CV?
-
The only thing that will require some design outside of the norm, would be the relays, and I'm sure that's been done before. I'd start by running separate searches of the forum and the wiki for keywords like 'relay' (of course), 'ULN' or 'ULN2003' which is an IC that is used to drive the relays, and there might be some info if you search for MBFX. It's not my area of expertise really (actually I don't think I have one ;) ), but I'm sure a few guys will chime in soon and tell you a handful of ways that they've done this :)
-
What do you mean "not all of us"? I think it might just be the language barrier and an unintentional thing, but that statement implies that some of us do. Anyway, you missed my point.... If you're talking about a cheaper alternative to buying $300 PCB software, and you mention a $600 graphics package, then clearly you're not talking about buying the graphics package, right?
-
Hi Andrea, welcome aboard :) You should be able to do this quite easily with a MIDIBox, although it could take some minimal programming skills. You can attach the floorboard switches to the midibox, and have it send MIDI, that is a piece of cake. The guys here who have midified organs might be the best to advise on this, but I believe you should be able to drive the relay from a DOUT (or some free pin on the Core module). The whole thing is a fairly simple concept, so provided you have some (or are willing to learn some) programming skills, this will certainly be possible. Cheers!

There are a few totally freeware and unlimited PCB CAD apps out there.... No need to spend money or muck about with illustrator (which is also expensive, warez are bad mkay) sf.net is your friend :)
