  1. Maybe try layer up coats of the laquer until it's higher up than the lazertran. Works for plastic models ;) ____________________________________________ laquer ,---------------, laquer ______________/____ Decal _____\______________ Surface
  2. Jim is still around, give it time :)
  3. Yeh, what TK said!! :D I've had a bit of a look at the schematics and it seems quite feasible to control the EZ-USB via I2C and then a MIDIBox could handle the LCD/Buttons/Pots/Other IO. If only I had the time.... Maybe in '07 :D
  4. Tadaaaaa!!!! Huuuuge thankyou to QBAS for doing this. Many have spoken of it, but QBAS has gone all the way. Thanks to Smash for hosting it too, very kind of you mate. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I bring you the link to the source code of a MIDIBox based velocity sensitive piano keyboard driver :D http://www.avishowtech.com/mbhp/files/sm_16x16_vel.zip
  5. niiiiiice :) We're all watching you moxi :D
  6. You could still make one work, you just use one of the sets of contacts. I don't think you're going to find a linear DJ crossfader though, because being for audio, it's going to need a log curve. You could call the manufacturers to ask which models use a 10k xfader, there's not that many of them :)
  7. Hey Lall I just realised you're behind the Miss Parker...Gotta say, that thing is totally kickass mate :) The project always really interested me but I wish I could make one with an LCD and use all four IO's... Would that sort of thing be possible?
  8. Thanks AndAway. I've updated the wiki. Hope you find a card with the chips soon :)
  9. Hi SysEx, Welcome aboard :) The MBSID application has reached the limitations of the PIC chip, so there is not enough memory for a dedicated FX machine to be buillt in. You could use the CV outputs to control analog fx, but if you want to have a dedicated fx processor, you would need to build it on a second core module - of course you can still put both devices in the one box, so it would still be "built-in" :) I recommend you read this page on the wiki. Be sure to follow the links to the forum. There is a lot to read, but it's pretty interesting :) If you have some programming skills you might be able to get a core module to control a Miss Parker, or possibly several of them... That'd be very very cool, but no walk in the park...
  10. Hi acidman, Welcome to the board. Yeh the sync2 is a bit pricey... So far I haven't heard of anyone making an app like this, but if you have some C programming skills, TK has provided a full explanation of how you could do it. His explanation will make more sense once you've become more familiar with the MIDIBox :)
  11. I dunno about a monome clone but I do need a button grid....
  12. Thanks TK :)
  13. That's only partially true. The PIC can always be re-burned if you put bad code on it - unless of course, that bad code causes the PIC to behave in a manner which could cause it to sustain damage from other sources.... Thankfully, that's pretty uncommon :)
  14. TK I think your code has some of the best commenting that I've ever seen. You do just fine :)
  15. Hi all, I'm a bit confused about the handling of the FSR0 and FSR2 pointer during the ISR's - is it saved when entering and restored on exiting the ISR, or carried into the ISR and lost on exit or...? From the words of the Boss: And then on the ram handling doc available on the download page at ucapps.de: What does happen to FSR0 and FSR2? Am I missing something?
  16. It does sound unusual... are you guys both using the old style C64's?
  17. Heh that's pretty cool :) Good tip Doctor! "Nope, that one almost worked, but it crashed once. I'll have to build another one and check it...." Funny thing about patents is; have you ever tried to find a patent to fit a specific purpose? There's so many of them it's near impossible to find anything of use.... it reminds me of the worst of the early internet search engines, just a 'needle in a haystack' situation :( Who'd have thought TR sequencers would have so much in common with the terminology of musical theory, Leo Fender, and the Patent Office? ;D
  18. Hi guys I should apologise for not having QBAS' excellent app webhosted yet... I'm working on it, I swear!
  19. You're absolutely right! I look forward to seeing your addition to the wiki, thanks for offering ;)
  20. Ahh patents.... Once a crock, always a crock.... I plan on breaking as many of them as required and giving the big middle finger :)
  21. Sounds like we're on a winner! Thanks for testing it out guys, I won't have to replace my JDM now :D
  22. Yeh there's your problem. At this stage of design, she should be giving YOU advice :) The whole idea of a custom controller is to make it your own personal design, and if it's for her, then she needs to tell you what she needs... Only after you know exactly how she would like it to work, should you worry about what's possible and what's not. That's one limitation that should be considered before considering the limitations of the midibox. I think what you need to do is first get a copy of the midi implementation of traktor, then sit down with your friend, use traktor and match up required/desired functions of the controller with that midi implementation, and think about which control surface elements she desires to control that midi transmission, and then you want to start thinking about the midibox side of things :)
  23. ;D I think in slang terms. "girlie box" might mean something different than you mean it to ;) hehehehehehe
