Hey you know that looks pretty darn good.... Lots of plusses... It's active, cross platform, free, open source, unlimited, lots of nice features... I'd like to hear smash and TK's thoughts :)
-
Bitchin! :) Hey that's pretty lookin, mind if I ask, what app did you use for that?
-
Have a look around and see if you can find the answer :)

My eBay advice: F*cking snipers!!!!!!!! ARGH! Hey buns those last three are on my list too ;)

I wouldn't trust someone else's specs on something like this purely because the configuration required to yield results that were worth a crap would be impractical and far too costly both in hardware and manhours (like, comparing different MIDI interfaces, from diffrent brands, on different connectors, with different driver versions, with different BIOS setups fro different motherboard manufacturers - we're takling about 1000's of different setups and that's just the basic setup of the MIDI interface. I reckon I could easily come up with 100000 different variations) But everyone's missing the point. Computers.....crash. And unpredictably. Well, that's not entirely true, they do tend to be a little predictable - they crash lots when you're on stage. If my MBSeq were to crash, I could find out why and fix the source. Try doing that with windows, OSX or linux, and the hundreds of proprietry drivers you run. Course, the difference between an MBSeq and a PC is largely the OS/software. If you wanted to write a dedicated OS and seq app in x86 ASM, I'm sure it would ROCK. But AFAIK only one person ever tried it, and the job got too big :(

Yeh I thought those links might be the whole lot, but hoped that I'd missed one ;) Thanks tho man! Well yeh, I actually never intended upon using them as faders, that was just a way to clarify what I was talking about :) I have a more...ahhh...elaborate plan in mind ;D

Only the pots are jittering, not the faders ??

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the wiki? What were your results? -
Heya Razmo, First post and you're that far in! You should join the board and share your experiences! Maybe there are others who would like a Danish MB-SID tutorial :) You might like to search the forum and wiki for MBFX. There have been fairly active discussions about this recently. That's an interesting observation about the values passed to the filter, I wonder, if the minimum value is offset, is tha maximum value offset also, or is it scaled?

Good to hear that it's kinda behaving, although I think it's very unwise to leave it half-broken, which is essentially the same thing as giving it the opportunity to REALLY screw up. I tell ya what, if it comes back to life so quickly and you never noticed before, I have to say that you might be rushing things a bit! I think this is #1 on the list of advice given on this board - BE PATIENT :) I don't think I've heard of one singlular issue being solved by rushing, except for maybe pulling the plug on something that's on fire ;) So does it lock up like that with other applications?

Nah it's a piece of cake, you're just re-casing it really, no electronic alterations necessary... The signal is probably generated straight from the input pins of the chip to USB, so it's unlikely that there's a non-USB midi signal anywhere near it... You're probably after a USB-MIDI Interface, not sure if the MBHP USB module would be suitable?

Doesn't hurt that TK has a freakishly large brain dedicated to playing with these things and blessed by the Gods to make ground-breaking DIY projects ;D heheh I've often said that these things could be very very useful just as a single line as opposed to a grid matrix (as in, a slider, not an X-Y pad) if you could do that without using a shedload of IC's I'd be really interested! Is there some single website that's a good source of info on this LED sensor thing? I found a few sites with bits and peices but nothing really solid you know... 5mm? hehehe Obviously it's the first small measurement that popped into mind to make the joke with... I wonder how such a measurement might have been burned into your brain...or maybe your retina ;D

Thx TwinX! I found out about hongkongsuperseller recently, he's a good bloke, packs very well, and has lots of cool rare chips... His shipping costs a freakin fortune though (like, more than the IC's themselves in many cases), and so it's best to order lots at once, because he will combine shipping. Emtel looks great, that's added to my faves :) Thanks mate! frankenfoot was a bit light on content though :( I'll update later tonight with some Aussie sources for all you other guys down under.

Aw really? :( Where'd you hear that? Still funny tho innit ;)

Ahhh lovely now I can relate it to some of the ASM I know :) (Which is probably what the compiler makes the arrays into heheh) The thing I really don't get is how our array called 'b' matches up with the linker script, I mean, do we need to add the array's name and memory space to the linker every time we create an array? Today I've got that "I should have stuck with ASM" feeling ;)

See I find that annoying because of the lack of notification of the new software release. A better implementation in my opinion would be to have a static link to the latest release version in the first post, and update the thread with a new reply at the end with info about the new release, and have a link to the first post in that, for ease of navigation..

Please do :) Although it's not been done before I think you'll have no problems. -

Hmm you know maybe I was just too tired, or maybe someone already cleaned it up, but I couldn't find one that was a good candidate to move... I'll have a go at fleshing out those other pages though :) -

Absolutely! I went to link to one of the FAQ entries the other day, I knew it was there, but I couldn't find it.... I'll try and move some stuff out of there and into more relevent areas. -
Holy cow huh! That's freakin serious :) Hey yell out if you wanna sell some of those buttons ;D

It hardware resets every time you power it on and off... Sounds like you're right though, I'd try disconnecting the modules and see if the core boots without them as a start, and maybe look at the power too..

It'd probably work, but couldn't you send the commands via MIDI? -
I told you that you'd be a guinea pig :-\ Ah it's no biggie though :)

Again I agree Moebius. You're good at this mate, do you do documentation in your line of work? On another subject, I had a thought today. You know how pages can have a table of contents on the top right corner? I was thinking that it would be great to have something similar, which lists all the pages that link to this one. Would it be possible to automatically generate something like that? It'd be a really good way to navigate around the site, because if a page doesnt have the info you need, you would be hinted at other related pages to help you find it. Edit heh, glad I hadn't clicked 'Post' yet, I just found it, you click the page title and it shows you all the backlinks :D
