Midibox Of The Week: Sink fled after hearing MBSIDV2 by SounDuke
nILS replied to SounDuke's topic in MIDIbox of the Week
Love it! I'd really like to see something displayed on the modulation waveform display though :D -
DOUT test program lights up every led (not just one at a time)
nILS replied to Echopraxia's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
This sounds more like a hardware problem than anything else. Did you try unplugging whatever is plugged into you DOUT board and measuring the voltages by hand (or using a single LED)? -

nILS replied to Echopraxia's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
Only one LED should be lit at a time. -
Awesome :-\ Especially the pics and the description! edit: When I posted there were no pics. Now there are pics. Hooray!

I kinda contradicted myself here :D Green ones are common, yellow/orange is not.

It's a KORG microKONTROL

Please help - Can't upload MIOS in anyway
nILS replied to Julian07's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
Sparx: He only has the bootstap on the PIC - this gives him an upload request every 2 seconds, so it doesn't matter when you start the upload. Julian: Try setting the deviceID in MIOS Studio to other values. If that doesn't help, you MIDI In is most likely not working at all. -
Please help - Can't upload MIOS in anyway
nILS replied to Julian07's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
Yes, it should, IF the upload makes it to the Core. Do your PICs have different device IDs? You have to select the correct one or the upload never reaches the PIC. -

As SmashTV just kindly pointed out, trying to upload the wrong MIOS version will give you the same error. Hence the question: What .hex file are you trying to upload? -

nILS replied to Julian07's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
*IF* the upload succeeded the PIC will be reset automatically. -
Thanks jaicen :D A lot (let's say 87% or so) of the credit goes to smash and jimp and the others who helped me even get this far though.

You might wanna join the chat - that makes it a lot easier :D Erm, how can you have NO MIDI OUT from the Core connected and still get upload requests? ??? -
Please help - Can't upload MIOS in anyway
nILS replied to Julian07's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
You could just unplug the MIDI out of the Core - this way, no more upload requests. -

nILS replied to Julian07's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
AFAIK your problems could mean one or more of the following: - Most general: There's a bridge somewhere - More likely: You MIDI In on the core isn't working or not receiving any signals. Is the optocoupler dead (http://www.ucapps.de/howtodebug/mbhp_core_opto_test.gif)? Did you re-check the wiring? Try uploading MIOS w/o "smart mode" and see if it'll work (it won't cancel the upload even though there's upload requests) -
- Final updates to schematic (integrated SID_V2 style multiple pokey support, added alternative audio out RCA jack [see SmashTV's SID board]) - Near-final board layout - Some programming done

-

Double-Congratulations to Seppo for the nice design and "Happy Birthday" to TK! Actually the newest addition to the MIDIBox family is quite a nice present for TK I believe - it's a clear sign of the awesome spirit in this community!

congrats Wilba (yeah, I know I'm just boosting my own post count - how lame) :D

SoundWell rotary encoders (like ALPS STEC16B, "Voti" encoders)
nILS replied to Wilba's topic in Bulk Orders
That must have been the fastest bulk order ever. Respect :D -
Mix up at the pin headers due to inconsistent pin labels in schems (TK) and boards (SmashTV) and my misinterpreting these: fixed :D Thanks jimp and davo!

Red, green and black rocker switches are fairly common. The blue and green ones are kinda hard to get a hold of though.
