  1. Hello, List. There is a gentleman over on ladyada's forum (www.ladyada.net/forums/) who made a 909 style case for a project. I asked him if he would consider selling these shells for midibox projects, and he seems keen on the idea. Maybe if we rally some sales, he'll come through and make more? Here's the thread... http://www.ladyada.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1078&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=90 y'know... there's been a lot of thread activity regarding a TR sequencer... feels like planets are coming into alingment here... THX, JD
  2. Mr. BDU! Nice to speak with you again! What can you do without power? How about doing a DMM check on the Vcc rail to the Ground rail and see if anything is leaking thru? Remember, troubleshooting is all about isolation. Also, it couldn't hurt to doublecheck your power source. Thx, and best of luck! Waiting for Mr. Smashtv to send my kit, ordered last week! THX, Jason D
  3. i see these in the garbage from time to time at work, maybe i should modify it for the same kind of action!!

If you happen to be building a star-trek theme midi controller, this would be a good consideration! THX, JD
  10. I've been building a library of cool switches and keycaps, one of these days I'll see about taking a photo of the whole lot. Basically, I've been trying to make a faux 808 , but a midi controller, and i can't find the exact switch. These are my current favorite: http://www.e-switch.com/series/5500.html however, they are not available in the 808 colorset. THX, JD

  14. Hello, List. I'm Jason, DJ/producer/Electrical Engineer here in Chicagoland. Are there any others in the area that are interested in a collaborative project to produce some MIDIBOX's? FOR OURSELVES, NO RESALE INTEREST! I am _really_good_ at prototyping (it's my dayjob), and I know a lot about surface mount componants, soldering, box construction, etc. However, I'm very weak on the programming side. I'd like to find some locals to link up with, and maybe meet on a regular basis. So... Who's in Chicagoland? THX, Jason D
  15. Here's your tactile switches... http://www.e-switch.com/search/search2.php?strPN=5511m&partSubmit=GO Mouser usually stocks these, and there's a cloner company called Mountain Switch. THX, JD
  16. I'll see if I can detect something thru midiox or similar. Let's get back to the question... is there ANY ableton scripting available? THX, JD
  17. This is a probelem that I've been thinking about myself. Basically, another way to state the problem is this: If the clip contains data, LED is ON If the clip is playing, LED is BLINK I have no idea how to implement this! Ableton doesn't have scripting! Don't know if there is a way to put the program burdon on the MIDIBOX to use MIDI to check if a clip is empty or not. I'd certainly like some advice. THX, JasonD
  18. Hey, I work with caps (thru-hole, surface mount). Different manufacturers print up caps in various colors. Don't ID a cap by its paint job. Read the markings. This is true for ceramic, tantalum, mica, etc. THX, JD
