    dub from me

    Cheers MTE, thanks for listening!
  3. sorry i meant did you go with mb64e rather than editing the software of mb64?
  4. yes sorry you are right, id almost forgotten about launch modes :o :D
  5. architeq - i thought it might be Live you're using. Glad to hear you're including the track stop buttons but why not the track start buttons? That way you can stop and start any track without using a mouse. Maybe you dont need to be able to do that but seems like an important feature to me. Just sounds funny to me putting a mute and a stop track button on each fader when they (can) function as the samething.
  6. (in firefox) right click on the link & save it, ive managed to see it. actually hang on i'll rehost it.... sorry i cant seem to display it, it opens on my computer but not when i host it. strange. looks cool though, what program will you be using it with?
  7. so what did you do in the end about the encoder, program it youself? (sorry if you've already said, its a while since i visited).
  8. anyone able to make stickers? that would be cool.

err i havent got one, im boring :-*
  10. yeah apparently it is, its meant to be this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Firth shame really, but even though he's not real, he might as well be...there's enough people are really are like that.
  11. hey bcbox, nice one for putting the pics back online, its a beautiful looking box!
  12. Ok you may have seen this before this guy is a legend! http://www.fat-pie.com/chavs.htm Maybe hard for some to understand but this guy highlights the growing problem of chavs in the uk. Classic northern accent on this bloke :D
  13. that'll be a beast if you use all that!
  14. thats a massive help stryd_one, thank you very much, certainly given me something to think about. To code edititing part scares me the most out of the whole project but i guess its like all the rest of it, some learning & reading makes it possible. So i assume i would need to sacrifice some of my buttons to fit the encoders in because from what i can make out there is only a certain number of inputs so i cant simply add extra DINs in addition to the 2 i already have?
  15. hmm thats not too good Drin. sounds kind of strange though, the box looked great & all the build info & stuff, weird that it would be a con of some sort. I guess money reveals a lot though. Its a pity the pics have gone, i was using as a reference for my box :'(
  16. very useful thread... Moebius, are you saying that it is possible to use some encoders on the mb64, but that we would have to use the mb64e software for it? Or rather that you can use the mb64 hardware and use the mb64e application/software? Im in a bit of a dilema, i was pretty sure that mb64 was what i wanted & bought the boards but im now thinking that it would be good to use some encoders. Im willing to give up on the idea of encoders if its not possible with mb64 because i dont want to start all over again, but i can't find a direct reference to my question, lots of similar ones but not quite what i need to know. cheers for the patience. EDIT - I found this post http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=6301.0 which i think nearly answers my question. I think i'll just stick with the mb64 & forget the encoders. ::) oh well, i'll know for next time i suppose.
  17. ok i havent completed a midibox yet but this is the music im making at the moment. the main reason i want to make a box is to 'dub' live, effect channels & create songs/remixes out of a loop/song with heavy use of fx. i basically want to be able to have full control over the regular audio mixer controls as i can navigate & fire etc with my foot pedal & keyboard. just thought id post a kind of context to any posts i make in other areas of the forum. feel free to review on there site or on here www.versionist.com/artist/MEEF%20CHALOIN/music if you are in to reggae/dub/dancehall/world/dnbdub check out the rest of the site at www.versionist.com, its all free to listen & download.
  18. where have the pics gone on this thread?
  19. thanks for all the tips & pointers. I've actually pretty much finished all my boards (yet to be tested) but the other stuff i'll definitely have a read up about.
  20. oooh i see :o hehe right well that makes things a lot easier for me then, i was under the impression that the buttons would only keep the solo button pressed down when i was physically pushing it. But yes, what you've said makes a lot of sense thinking about it! Im not sure what im gonna do regarding the LEDs, is it complicated or hard to set them up to be triggered from the buttons? I had come to the conclusion that i wouldnt use any LEDs purely for the simplicity and the less work on the panel but you've made me change my mind again ;) so is a "mini tact switch, extra high" a momentary one? David - yes you are right, this has been a very steep learning curve for me but im just taking it as it comes. I have been searching for definitions of these things but for some reason the info hasnt been that easy to find.
  21. yeah good point! thanks anyway, i'll have a look elsewhere.
  22. haha ok...im building a mixer style box, similar to the one in the MB64 sticky in the HUI forum, an interface for ableton live. I want it to act a lot like a regular mixer so im not going for encoders or momentary buttons. I want the majority of the buttons to stay down when pressed but i cant find many about (unless the voti ones are these types?). cheers
  23. Im looking for buttons for my box but im getting a little bit lost. From the other thread on here I think I want latching buttons, not the momentary ones, as i will be using them for solo/mute/assign buttons, so obviously would like them to stay on when pressed and turn off when pressed again. I can't seem to find many about though, i found these on Voti's site - http://www.voti.nl/shop/catalog.html?M-SW-7-1 - but aren't they momentary ones? I found some at Maplins but they're too expensive for me, voti would be good for me as im getting other stuff from there but i need to know that im buying the right thing. If anyone knows where i can get these kinds of buttons from (UK or voti) i would be very very grateful. I found a few places but they either sell in big bulks or are pretty expensive.
