  1. np. but don't forget to order the paper-catalog,too. so the next time you can search the parts more easily without understanding german. ;)
  2. There was something similar that happened to me. I asked my uncle to cut the faderslots in my frontpanel. I drilled the holes for the pots, buttons and the display before and I did it very carefully cause I didn't want to scratch my anodized aluminium panel. But when I got the frontpanel back, I noticed that my uncle made some really bad scratches in the frontpanel. I was really angry, but on the otherside my uncle did it for free so I couldn't go to him and complain. At the end I bought some blue self-adhesive foil and glued it over the panel. I doesn't look too bad in my eyes. I know that Sasha the perfectionist would probably throw up when he'd see that ;D ;D
  3. why don't you just cut some wood away at every side except the shortest one (upper one in picture 3)? Then you'll have an uniform look again.

  9. That is f*ckin AWESOME!!! :o :o :o
  10. 1st suggestion: Midibox Plus! cheap, reliable and easy to build. 2nd suggestion: a single core module would do the job. just connect your breath controller to one of the analog inputs that are directly on the Core-PCB. This will probably need a bit of programming. matthias

    Strange Noise

[depressed mood] ok... I've completely disconnected the SID-module from the Core and removed every IC from the SID-PCB. If I power it on, I hear the strange noise. If I take the connector which is used to connect the Cables for the SID-Core-connection and move it closer to the PIC, the noise gets louder. It seems that the PIC sends some electromagnetic waves which are recieved by the SID-PCB and forwarded to the amp. Now I take the input-wire of my amp (TDA 7052,btw.) and connect it to every pin of the PIC, I can hear the loudest noise at pin#: 6,19,28 (noise#1) and 22,21 (noise#2) edit: Testtone application works well, btw.

    Strange Noise

Don't you think the stabilizing caps on the Core and SID-Module are enough? I've downloaded my noise-record again and must say that the record-level was too low. it's much louder. There seems so be an other problem... ::) (This thread is never going to end :P ) When I power only the Core, something seems to oscillate. There are some sounds that are generated and then led through the ground-wire to the SID and then to the audio out and to the amp. When I power the SID on now, there is a 1KHz triangle-wave (?-quite the same as the testtone-app, though the SID-app is on the PIC) and the additional noise from the Core. When I power just the SID, there's a quite loud noise. ...I'll make a video and put it on youtube ::) edit: I won't put a video on youtube..... modem.... :P
  16. LOL but quite scary though... ::)

    Strange Noise

I tried something different (see attachment). result: No noise :D now there are 2 possibilities: - The noise was just because of the bad PSU or - I've just killed something (I'll try the testone-app tomorrow) ...something inside of me sais that Murphy was right... ::)

  20. I'd love to try Fedora and EnergyXT, but could someone please tell me where to download a Linux driver for my E-MU 0404 soundcard? I've searched for hours, but not even the E-MU-Hotline is able to tell me if such a driver exists. :'( HELP!!
  21. ist das hier eigentlich noch aktuell??
  22. jep. I don't know If you've ever build something youself. The feeling when it's finished is amazing. You love your MB. I think it won't take that long until you've finished a MB-SEQ. Especially when you don't make the frontpanel yourself but buy it. And you don't have to spend hours of troubleshooting because of some noise like with the MB-SID or the MB-FM.

  25. Download the FrontPanelDesigner http://www.schaeffer-apparatebau.de/English/FPD_index.htm and open TKs Frontpanel-file http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid_cs/mbsid_panel.fpd Now you can see exactly where everything is situated and c+p it directly in your preferred graphics-program (CorelDraw12 in my case). this will work perfectly.
