that's the word i was looking for. another idea would be a black-white-floor and a LDR or a infrared sensor (?). So you can detect the movement of the shoe on the floor and you can calculate the speed. I've heard that in those Robot-soccer-championships the floor is white on one side and black on the opposite side. In the middle it's a grey which gets darker or whiter... oh, c'mon, you know what I mean. I'll look for a photo. well, and the Robots have a sensor which detects the "brightness" of the ground. but I think It'll be a bit difficult to paint the whole floor black and white. matthias

Usually the sounds on a keyboard are splitted up in different sub-groups. example: my PSR-630 has got 692 sounds which are divided up in 32 sub-groups. the biggest group contains about 20 sounds. In my case 32+20 buttons would last. just use the 32 buttons to choose the sub group and the 20 buttons to choose the single sound. but you want to memorize which button belongs to the sound you're looking for? ...good luck ;) matthias

also, nicht dass du mich jetzt falsch verstehst, wegen mir brauchst du die uv-farben nicht ordern. bin momentan etwas knapp bei kasse :-\ und werde meine frontplatte wahrscheinlich selbst mit der Laubsäge zurechtschneiden ;) (zumindest die viereckigen löcher) ...war halt nur so 'ne idee er wäre halt auch im dunkeln übersichtlicher wenn die versch. bereiche auf der platte unterschiedlich leuchten würden... mfg matthias

Ich glaub ich hab hier die ultimative Idee: wäre es möglich, die gravuren in unterschiedlichen Farben zu unterlegen? wenn ja; Wie wäre eine plexi-/acrylglasfrontplatte mit 1 oder 2 UV.Kaltlichtkathoden dahinter und UV-REAKTIVE farben in den Gravuren ? dann würden versch. Gravuren in verschiedenen Farben aufleuchten! ....also vor meinem inneren Auge siehts geil aus ;D

wow! schaut seehr sexy aus ;) zwei fragen: 1. warum ist schaeffer so teuer? ich hab jetzt zwar wirklich nicht viel ahnung vom cnc-fräsen, aber die spannen doch bloß die (alu-,acryl-,etc.)platte in so einen werktisch, laden die fertige cad-datei in den rechner und dann fräst die maschine die löcher aus oder graviert irgendwas ein, oder ?? und 2. also, wenn ich richtig gelesen habe, plant ihr Frontplatten in kleineren Stückzahlen nach Auftrag zu fertigen. Habt ihr schon eine vorstellung davon, wann das sein wird und wie die preisliche Lage in etwa ist? mfg matthias

encoder sind praktisch wie 2 Taster, welche in reihe geschaltet sind. du legst in der mitte eine spannung an und je nachdem welchen taster du drückst liegt halt bei einem Ausgang dei spannung an. die encoder sind meistens gerastert (detendend, meistens 24 schritte/umdrehung)und geben pro rasterung ein signal aus. Bei welchem Ausgang (1 oder 2) das signal rauskommt hängt von der drehrichtung ab. ich hoffe ich konnte dir damit helfen

today I got a mail from spectrasymbol. I'll get another mail with datasheet, price, etc. as soon as this new Pad is available (~3 weeks) - The thing works contactlessly (?german: berührungslos) - It works with magnets - sensitive area is about 55x75mm

Spectrasymbol has developped new XY-Pads which work like 2 independent Pots. They are also supposed to act like a pot. This means that the value doesn't go to zero when you don't touch the pad. I will get more information later. Is there anybody who wants such a pad? If there are enough people I'll order them.

TR=Transistor, right? shouldn't be very difficult. the signal to/from the eeprom is going from B to E the R-LED-stuff should go like +5V-LED-R-Collector-Emitter but i have no idea about influencing the signal and how many current the PIC/EEPROM can bear :-\ but please hurry with the schematic. I want to start with my SID soon and this would be a real cool feature :)

1. those flashing LEDs have usually a frequency of ~1,5 Hz that's quite slow 2. ok. you're right. but fast-flashing LEDs are more impressing ;D

Display-verkabelung war auch bei mir immer ein kritischer Punkt. So eine Lötstelle bricht schon mal schnell ab. Kontrollier nochmal alle Leiterbahnen die zum Display hinführen. Am besten Verzinnst du sie zusätzlich. Hat bei mir auch schonmal geholfen. Ich störe euer Troubleshooting nur ungern, hab aber ein paar newbie-sid-fragen für die es sich nicht lohnt einen neuen Thread aufzumachen: 1. was ist der Unteschied zw. non- und detendend Encodern? 2. Ich muss bei verwendung eines 2*20 Displays nichts in der Firmware ändern, oder? 3. Wie muss ich die Firmware ändern wenn ich nur 1 SID-chip verwende? habe leider fast keine programmierkenntnisse, wäre aber trotzdem schön wenn mir einer nebenbei diese fragen beantworten würde matthias

what about a super-small circut with a SMD NE555 , 2 SMD resistors and a small capacitor? this would make the LED flash. :D as the chip has only got 8 pins there would be no need for a PCB.

hi again, today I wanted to connect the Robbon-controller to my MBox but the only signal I get is "0" when I don't touch it and "127" when i touch it.
