First protoype of an Albs Waldorf based alloy knob. Made on a cnc...
  2. Hey guys, after his last email in which he promised to send the chips the next day nothing happened again. After that i wrote him twice but havent got a reply. I then decided to go for the paypal buyer protection and finally got my money back today. I dont know whats up with this guy since he apparently was a reliable seller but honestly i gave him 8 weeks to sort things out. So..dont buy from him anymore..at least dont buy outside of eBay... eBay account has been suspended as well... Alex
  3. i´d love to take the kit. That is exactly what i was looking for, since it is clear, that my sids from other source probably are lost... pm sent
  4. Well, thank you. He replied today after 3 weeks of silence. Not the smoothest transaction but at least i havent lost my 300$....
  5. Hi and welcome, unfortunately i can not answer all of your questions, (since i am a serato user :p) but i try to do as best as i can. 3. When i buy the STM-board in SmashTV's shop the bootloader is already programmed. But where can i find the (template) software for the STM32? The most important issue you should consider is that the software for Midibox64 resp. Midibox64e has not been "officially" (means by TK) ported yet to the new core32. That means, if you want to build a MB64(e) with core32 you have to code the software yourself or find other members who are already doing so. Look here for applications already running on core32 http://ucapps.de/mios32_download.html But for a MB64(e) you dont necessarily need core32, it has been running very well on pic based hardware for years and has been built a few hundred times (probably). 4. The USB-connection property reduces my choice to the STM32, doesn't it? The PIC does not support USB-connection, right? USB to Midi is supported as well on PIC based hardware via the GM5 Modul. Parts: That very much depends on your location and the part suppliers in this region. Search the forums first, there are many threads about faders, pots and suppliers. ALPS makes pretty good faders and pots, relatively expensive though. There are all kind of knobs from a lot of companies, depends on your supplier as well. I once bought two original Pioneer rotary plates from a EFX500 directly at a pioneer service to build some kind of XONE controller...
  6. guys, are any of you in contact with this guy at the moment? i bought a lot of chips a while ago, which i havent received. I contacted him three times during the last 10 days but havent got a reply yet. Now i am a bit worried about my money...there is always the possibility of the seller having vacations/whatever...but dunno....
  7. did i mention that this works only for the lead engine? :-P
  8. SYSEX Madness!

  9. Hey guys, i wrote my very first M4L patch during a very rainy vacation and thought it would be useful if i could edit the sammichSID in Ableton. It´s more a work in progress (some functions still missing) than a finished product but it might is helpful for some people. Due to the fact, that M4L can not handle sysex (and i am not a pretty great programmer anyway) this patch is based on CC-Edit only. That means it is quite restricted in functions and only supports parameters accessable via CC SID CC Implementation I might start with an editor based on sysex and a workaround soon but that´s it for the moment. :-) Feel free to comment, modify, share info, whatever... Known Issues: When loading the patch it might be necessary to switch presets to get a sound. (No Solution yet) sammichSID_Editor_v.0.1.amxd.zip

    1x Sid 6581

Hey Guys, i sell one 6581 (R4AR / 4986) i have as spare. 18,- incl. shipping in Germany. Other destinations within Europe possible but shipping is more expensive. paypal preferred.
  11. Hi, for a jog wheel( which is an endless rotary knob ) you need an encoder. That means you should go for a Midibox 64e with encoder support. Pots are supported as well. Many people have built boxes like these, so you will find a lot of information in the forums. A screen (lc-display) is very helpful during the build process and does not cost a lot (15$) so i would recommend it even when you just hide it inside your box... Depending on your design/parts/materials you could do it very cheap or very expensive :-) Up to you...
  12. Hi Andrew, you might start your research over at albs directly. They have several 100KB pots listed on their stock list here: http://www.albs.de/ecom/stock_de.php?PNR=Rotary+Pot.+RK11K11 There are some whose datasheet is dated 1994 so chances are good you´ll find an appropriate replacement, even thought there is no typ 3n4n listed. If you need any help reading that let me know. Over at the synthesizer forum (sequencer.de) are several guys who repair vintage synths. One of them is florian_anwander. You could ask him for help, he is very kind and may gives you a hint. But maybe there is a hardware geek here as will who is into old synths...;)
  13. Hi Knoball, 1.) I dont know, never used crap pots. 2.) As far as i know that shouldn´t be a problem. I did so because i am trying to build as small as possible and its working fine when mounted horizontally. 3.) You can kill everything when soldering depending on your temperature and the time you place the iron on the pads. But normally the pads of the lcd are located at the border of the pcb so that shouldnt be a big problem with a lil reading about soldering and the equipment needed. Hope someone can answer q4 since i never tried that. :-)
  14. Already Sold. Hey Guys, i sell 3x 6581 i recently purchased, because i dont need them anymore. I tested them yesterday in the sammichSID and they are 100% working. Price is 51€. That´s what i paid. Germany preferred but i dont mind shipping elsewhere in Europe. Here are some pics: Paypal prefered. Just send me a message if interested.
  15. Well, i would be in for a set but there are always some old soundcards around at ebay...
Vielen Dank
  17. Just to be clear here. The LCD works fine as long as you have no SIDs plugged in? Probably the used current is to high then... edit: ah..you solved it...
  18. Just finished mine after a lil struggle with myself and that´s the f*** best lil synth i´ve ever owned. What a great piece of gear! Great job, TK, nILS and Wilba! That´s so much fun, i am totally hooked.
  19. well..datasheet says: max junction temperature 150 degree celsius...so..i am sorry..should be fine. Question answered.

  21. Well i gotta install the FPD then tomorrow and try it. Weired...shouldnt have trusted the webcalc. They´re not offering 4mm panels, are they?
  22. Hm...unless you find someone using exactly the same lce you have to measure. A decent caliper would be great. May you can borrow one from a friend or get one. Would be handy for almost every project. But even a good ruler should give you satisfying results.
