Probably , as say Altitude , the cheapest solution is the plexyglass you can buy in hardware store.

If you have time with a dremel like tool you can engrave the edges to create a step to be embedded.

[Cleaning the flux off the PCB]

Hi guys,

Just tested on job in these days:

Ethilic alchool whith a nails brush to remove flux

after

distilled water ( or demineralized water ) to remove any stains and streaks leaved by

alchool.

all these operation i made in little tanks but not submerging boards,I soak the brush and brush the board perpendicular to the liquid surface.

I am very positively impressed from the result that is very very professional :thumbsup:

Normally I use commercial flux cleaners ( very expensive ) so I think that it will be my stable method of cleaning, cheap and aesily available materials

[Bad hex for IIC midi firmware?]

I don't understand exactly your problem but

I have burned just now four 16F88 with the last HEX file for IIC MIDI

and returned any error you enountered.I suppose it is the ultimate firmware.

I use EPIC programmer and PICPgm software.

Hope you have already solved the problem.

[Roland D50 ignoring aftertouch]

Sorry for delay.

On the bender board I have resoldered cursors ( pot ) and other SMD and PTH.

The whole cause of malfunction was ( like old philips television ) a degradation of the PTH solderings.

You can see , with magnifyng lens , like a little darker circle in the soldering around the pin.

After resoldering pins of the cursors aftertouch starts ( restarts ) to work but I gave a little shot to all the soldering on this board.

Hi,

Usually I use isopropilic or ethilic alchools wiyhout any problems.

A good product ( I often use on job ) is Electrolube FRC ( RS code 508-6582 ).

It is not very cheap but the sticky traces of solder wire flux will really disappears.

Waiting for 18F4685 I had lot of time for give a look to the setup_8580.asm of midiboxsidV2_0-rc37.

Seppoman and Nils helped me to understand many things and I am very grateful.

I have some questions yet ( seems that the asks are not enough )

1-In the setup , may I am wrong because my eyes are not the same of years ago, I do not see a define for stereo sid.

Is it an "already implemented " feature?

2-Has sense in setup disable unused Shift Registers for save computing power assumed that I will not use a complete control surface?

3-I already realized a MB-LTC for midi message LED , is in the MBSID_V2 the midi-msg led on ShiftReg availability?
