Well,
I think that if you want FM then MBFM can do it for you.
If I remember well more modern FM synths like FSR1 can modulate operators with PCM waves so can create
more complex sounds.( so the pad in the video seems audio silk )
Now I have both TX81Z and MBFM and it seems to me the sound are very similar ( effectively they have the same operators number , the same waveforms and probably the same modulation algorythms )
As I will finish my control surface I am very motivated to port the sound of my TX81 on MBFM for a comparison.

Hi Hawkeye,
I bought on Mouser NEWHAVEN 16x2 LCD and is very fast.
Mouser code 763-0216K1Z-FSB-FBW I will use for my MB808 ( in the future  )
I dont know if the 20x4 of this series is faster the same but you can try.
In the next days I will test some 20x4 LCD I bought from Zyscom and I will let you know
how them works.
regards .

The issue then is that we can abandon polyphony unless we have heaps of PWM outputs or use lots of MCUs which may well be cheaper at some point.
Ok you are right
but with only one clock generator ( so not PWM output from MCU ) clocking many dividers and one MCU to drive them?

Why dont use a simply CD4059 instead of computer peripherals like 82c54?
As it is necessarily anyway the use of an external chip for note generation
may be interesing the 4059 whith PIC a generated clock ( like for MBSID )and
stick many chips to increase the polyphony.
The 4059 is cheaper than 82c54 and comes in SMD to save space on board.
Logically it is only an idea but years ago I used it for my firsts synth experiment and
as it is thrue it generate only square wave we can obtain other WF with some
external parts.

Ciao e benvenuto,

Yes
The real risk is to be fashinated from unboxed MB-Seq and think only to play :D
but you have to be mature and have to finish it.
( of course I am joking )

very well done and clean - i have most respect for veroboard cs builders (struggling for myself :-))
Thank You Hawkeye,
I think that veroboard is very fine for a good positioning for switches and encoders.

Thanks Rosh and Phunk,
Rosh,
The switch are E-switches with a round cap I bought on RS( code 378-6511 but you can find on other sites too )
The round cap you can choice from different color ( the page on RS have the list )
and can have rectangular shape too.
I used these switches because I had a lot and was a pity waste them

Well,
A little ghosting on the Zyscom LCD too
Not very annoyng but it exist.( for me it is OK )
More on the 20x4 ( I have the green on black ) less on 20x2 ( I have the green on black and the white on blue )
Anyway it seems to me the same ghosting I have on my 20x4 white on blue Displaytech so...
( as all the black on any color positive LCD I have are very speedoflight ... may the negative LCD are less fast than the positive ? )
