Fortunately the knobs cover the hex nuts.

Testing the switches with a multimeter I am seeing how they do not make contact anymore ... they have become like resistors...after 25 years :)

Sounds like fun :) I´ve got a 10 years old Roland Vsynth here, which i really love, but a few interface tactile switches are also beginning to fail - as well as the LCD backlight sometimes stays off (CCFL based?)... Hope there is replacement parts to be found somewhere :) - anyways, the D50 is an awesome synth, never part with it ! :)

old gears may give these craps.

My S1100 LCD is very dark .I read that it is a common defect on old Akai and on Ebay I found a backlight replacement.

Yes, you can directly plug the LPC17 into the SEQ V4 CS PCB - there is a LPC-based firmware available for download :) - Also check out ilmenators TPD PCB building effort for maximum bling :)

Good luck! I finished mine a week or 2 ago, and love it! Got me back in to actually using my gear for the first time in years! Now I get down there and write a track just about every day.. Love those analog drums!

Those 40** chips are sensitive! Ive ordered some new ones, but don't know if they will work. (people have mixed results, depending on what brands/batches they try, apparently) I think I've got the clock pulse coming from the 4070.. I measure something w/ my scope.. it's only swinging a couple of volts, and is faster than I expected... ~ 1us pulses. Not sure if that's right...

At this moment I have on the bench the 9090 boards, the 808 boards , the MN2007 chorus and a Rebote delay from tonepad , completing the second MB6582 that miss the frontpanel and some boards I dont remember anymore what are. I feel frustrated every day that I cant turn on my soldering station.
