if anyone wants/needs a Tiger version, I still have Tiger running here (as well as Panther).. so they can PM me and I'd try to compile it whenever the schedule allows

Wow nice work.. Will be having fun with this next month  Slightly off-topic question, how's programming with JUCE? never done it.. Thinking about using it to make the next version of my Sync Unit app () cross-platform Is it really that simple to compile for mac & win? Is the 10.5 limitation on your app due to Juce?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum section, if so please (re)move, But I was wondering what happened to Nebula as I haven't seen him online since somewhere in the beginning of November (is that before the forum change?) anyway, I figure a few people around here should know him well as he's been here and quite active since 2003, so if anyone can clarify, it's kinda important. thanks in advance

no, doesn't work well because its dark plexi. just tried it, doesn't light up further than 1cm with very bright leds. and from a construction point of view it wouldn't work out either

@Flying Panther your image shows exactly what i'm trying to get! i've been looking into those LED strips, seems like a good solution. prices vary a lot though, and china is tempting at the moment. just saw this: http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/5M-SMD-LED-Leiste-Strip-selbstklebend-300-SMDs-weiss-NEU_W0QQitemZ280363723930QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDE_Haus_Garten_Lampen_Licht_Leuchten?hash=item4146faec9a#ht_3842wt_2098 46 euro for a 5m strip with 300 leds on it. width: 4mm now i don't need that much, maybe if someone else is interested in half of it?
-
dunno about the fibrecable thing.. can't really imagine how it would work to light the whole engraving with it think i'll be looking into miniature led strips once i get the time..
-
thanks.. some quick ebaying and googling revealed a flexible adhesive SMD variant of those led strips the smaller the better .. on the same site http://sunlighting-led.com/productshow.asp?ArticleID=5PRX610VRX meanwhile, i spoofed some more pics with the broken cam and bicycle lighting:

yeah, the inverters can be noisy themselves, the inverter in my sequencer drives me crazy sometimes.. i heard you have to somehow acoustically contain them and that there are special foam-sprays that do just that. What I haven't really thought about, is that the original C64 psu might not be sufficient for some options I'm still looking around, I have some white leds coming in soon so I can test how the light spreads
-
way to much, the price is insane.. still looking for cheaper alternatives maybe chained leds, christmas light, lol...

you mean this? http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid_manual_fp.html

ooh nice didn't know such a thing existed. nice price too I'll have to check if the brightness is enough to shine thru the acrylic panel though
-
i can imagine backlighting the whole front will be a pain with LEDs, it's already a pain to make the control surface, it's a complete pain if i add a whole bunch of leds onderneath it. the EL FOIL however becomes less bright over time.. i think it'll last ten years?
-
this is strange, no replies? ??? maybe i have to provide some better pics.. will work on that :P edit: i'm sourcing A3 EL-FOIL at the moment, 1 sheet should be enough for the 2 black midiboxes

what, that friends forum with vb-drupal? www.psychedelic.be (edit: it's like the center of the goa/psytrance scene in belgium)

well being an unemployed php webdeveloper at the moment and probably for a while because of the economy, I'd rather fix those holes as donation-cash is sparse if I may ask, what are the modules not supported anymore? maybe they can be replaced by something else.. I can have a look to see if I can help. btw, with vBulletin it can go the same way you know.. A friend of mine owns a big music portal/forum (almost 10000 members).. One day he decided to embed vB into Drupal cms for content creation.. A lot of work, and now it's done, he's stuck there and support for the VB-Drupal combination is fading away. No way back it seems.

what is wrong with SMF? sorry if this has been discussed somewhere.

I'm making a trio MIDIbox SID v2's with friends.. I noticed two of the acrylic panels I ordered can be backlighted.. normally color is black with gold lettering, but when backlit the gold turns into super cool spacey green.. I've been thinking of backlighting it and I'd love some suggestions. What should I use, etc.. I've been thinking of 2 things: ultrabright LEDS on the inside (dont like the idea) or EL-FOIL glued to the underside of the panel (Like it very much, though expensive I think, not sure how to apply it) Any suggestions? pics (sorry, my camera is broken, the best i can do atm)

well about those yuin pk3's, there's lot the be read about them on the internet.. http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17667 http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f103/yuin-pk3-appreciation-thread-237063/ made in china, but the good stuff it seems.. a friend of mine bought them to see if all those good reviews online made any sense.. immediately ditched his +$100 sony's afterwards.. I'm planning to buy myself a set one of these days..
