yeah, I built the single core version first. Then I started the 6582, just waiting to complete the case, all PCBS built and tested 100%!!! :D Lots of fun. I'm actually thinking of converting my single core MBSID to something else when I get the chance, just to try out something new.

I was using MMJ on OS X 10.4.11, intel powerbook. works great.

group buy #2 for ultracore (core + 4x IIC + 8 banksticks)

got mine on Friday, looks great, gonna start building this week!! -
It would be pretty easy to use a 13700 OTA as a VCA for this application. Along those lines has anyone done this to replace the feedback pots for the SID, but so that this can be saved in a patch?

yeah, for a good laugh, I hit auto route..... ick!! Thank God I saved it beforehand.

I am starting to work on a Moog Style filter in a size and layout similar to Seppoman's SSM PCB. My thoughts were to be pin compatible as far as headers. I am almost finished with my schematic and working on the layout. And will gladly make the schematic and PCB files available. I am using a LM13700 as a VCA to have voltage controllable Resonance. I was using Rick Jansen's VCF schematic with some changes. In Rick Jansen's schematic for the VCF, he uses some op amps for buffers and a difference amp. I have decided I would use discrete transistors. I'll post pictures as I go. I am hoping to to a breadboard of the PCB in about a week or two. Four quick questions: Is there a PCB house that does cheap one off double sided boards? Also is there a standard thickness such as 32mil thick that is more convenient to use? How is Eagle's autorouter? I have also seen a few different values for the VCF caps. is there a preferred value? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, I was surprised at how smoothly it went.

:D Just completed my Main PCB and ran it thru it's paces last night. Right now I have all 4 cores in, and 6 SIDs. I have another two in the shop I need to put in. I ran the test tone app. No problems. Put the SIDs in, Test tone ran fine as well. I just updated the Cores with the newest rev of MB SID. I am kind of psyched now, so I may start building a wooden case this week. I have a photo of the working PCB below. I have a few more photos here at Picasa http://picasaweb.google.com/Matrix12x/MB6582?feat=directlink Maybe time to write some music and make a Youtube vid?

I hope I am not too late. I just added my name for 1 PCB. -
Anybody using the 25 pin D connector on MB6582 yet
Matrix12x replied to Matrix12x's topic in MIDIbox SID
I am definitely doing one of sepoman's filters thru the connector. I had also thought of doing some sort of patchbay type thing to interface with my modular, you know CVs Gates, Audio IN/OUT et cetera. -
Hey, Is anybody using the 25 pin D connector on MB6582 yet? It opens loads of possibilities. Just wondering what people have used it for so far.

nice work. I'm going to use the hell out of it this weekend.

got mine today. NY

I'm in the USA and have not received my knobs yet.

the same pot does nothing for me as well

Cool interview. I really like the music.

arrived in NY... can't wait to finish building.

Today it worked great. I really liked the editor. You should add a virtual keyboard so I don't have torun a second program at the same time.... ;-) Thanks for the great work.

Yes, I can continue working. But it seems once I have lost communication it is gone. In my setup I only have one core.
-
I am having the same problem on a Mac, OS X 10.4. never any problems w/ MIOS studio. Midibox Sid V2 Editor starts out communicating, then has a connection issue.

Great. I have been looking fwd to a group buy on these. I will definitely keep my eyes open for this group buy.

That is one nice looking board! :D

I am going to try the magazine idea tomorrow.

I just tried today using HP premium paper put into a photocopier, it worked great, and the paper is very stiff, so I didn't get the same problems I got with the cheaper photopaper getting wrinkly in the middle. I touched up with a sharpie. The etching worked out fine.

This is great info!! I am going to try it tonight!!
