Has anyone had any backlight problems with the PLED's? My screen works with the backlight when plugged into another older single SID I have set up, but when plugged into the 6582 board the text comes up, but the backlight does not work (doesnt look very red either). Im afraid to just swap the polarity as it works with the other SID.. Any thoughts?

Thanks wilba.

You will have to connect the B+ pin (pin 9) to +5v (pin 12).

I guess I must have done the wrong thing, I connected up pin 9 and 12 on the PLED but still no backlight. It comes on, but no red, no light. Have I mistaken what is required?

Cheers

Hi All,

Its on in the pic above where it is connected up to a different board (a normal single sid) for testing, same cable etc.

I have bridged pins 9 and 12 on the actual PLED itself and it had no effect. I will try to bridge them under the header on the board tonight, but I cant imagine how that would make a difference compared to jumpering them on the PLED. Im wondering if there might be a different problem lurking? I connected up the PLED using the LCD guide in the wiki as reference.

Cheers

dcer10, you have a red LCD exactly the same as mine, not a PLED.

The bridge should be done on the bottom of the base PCB.

I should have done a better diagram before now, sorry  :-[

a bridge on the lcd is better if you are not using a IDC connector

Thanks guys, got it happening. I did the bridge on the LCD (dont know why I thought it was a PLED!) but it didnt work. Took it off and put it on the board and it works perfect.

The screen looks great!

That's me sorted for the base board other than the fan issue, on to the CS now.
