cosmosuave
I have just started my build of the SEQV4 with analogue out (gate/cv) via DB25 connector... Has anyone opted out of the DB25 connector and substituted it for 1/8" jacks? I want to do this as I do not want to have to construct another interface to run my analogue gear or if you are using the DB25 how are you interfacing with your gear? Thanks... lukas412
I have incorporated 1/8" jacks into my seq4 panel for 8x cv, 8x gate, and 8x trigger. I am actively in the process of wiring it all up and creating a level shifter for the gates.
cosmosuave
Any pics? Level shifter for gates what does that do? I am looking to CV/Gate 2 darkenergy's and a minitaur... On a side note... I just discovered Shawn Rudiman and he is from Pittsburgh like you, have you ever seen him play? lukas412
Attached a photo of my sequencer. Still not exactly sure how I am going to attach the jacks. I know the trigger outs need a 3.3v - 5v level shifter to trigger eurorack and most modulars. Can't remember if the gates need that too. There is some info on that here: http://ucapps.de/midibox_seq_manual_hw.html Shawn is a good friend of mine. He actually gave me that casio midi splitter you can see in the pic. Shawn and I have played together a bunch. Here is a tune we did together. http://goo.gl/OJTBY1 Luke
Elektruck
I made an midiboxCV Aout board into my sequencer and used 1/4" jacks for connecting my analogue gear. http://www.midibox.org/forums/gallery/image/2099-mb-seqv4-back/ As you can see I've also the DB25 connector, but it's not connected, maybe in the future for extra trigger outs. Will be on the look out for him if he play's Toronto... Your SEQV4 looks nice and i like how you put the jacks on the faceplate... I may do that or go from the rear nmot sure yet as it will be racked... Like the tune you guys did...Cool... Good to see people have gone the route with jacks... Since my Doepfer stuff is 1/8" I will go with that...
latigid on
Possibly relevant for you: I have in mind an idea to create a Eurorack version of AOUT_NG The connection from the SEQ would be buffered/level shifted gates, () DIN sync and clock, and a buffered J19 line through a DB-25 cable. The Eurorack module would receive power from the +12/-12 V supply, powering a re-routed AOUT board. CVs would be passed to another board stacked on top containing 3.5 mm jacks. cosmosuave
Thank you... I am financially not ready to go Eurorack as of yet...
Altitude
I did the 1/8" as well. Here is the setup before I added the level shifters:
cosmosuave
Any particular reason you soldered to the underside of the main board for CV/Gate?
Altitude
convenience, easier to do that neatly than figure out the lengths for connectors.
