A good hint was made from jojjelito , so I started building a new pcb with the following requirements:
- single sided, so you can fetch it by yourself
- SMD support (I never done SMD [or "SMT" how you english folks call it] before, but watching some videos It should be quite doable.
- containing: headers for lcpexpresso, DOUTs, DINs, USB for MIDI, AOUT for drum voice boards
- additonal wiring for simplifying is allowed for : IO-lines to DIN, DOUT, AOUT
So here is a fast picture I made to show you the pcb 's - like normally they look totally different to what the really look like. They are razor sharp edged.
I am still totally happy how easy it is, after a little bit practice to edge pcb :)
Right now I need to go to bed.
Good Night!
Lately I've been working on the proper control surface of the 6582 having run the mighty 6582 in a somewhat completed state with a perfboard control surface just for lulz. I followed Hawkeye's excellent tutorial on the CS construction but mixed and matched with the older methods from Wilba's construction hints where applicable just to be non-conformist fat rebel. :bug:
Now I'm at teh "waiting for the glue to cure" stage. I wish one could just use superglue or Goop and be done with
I am Jonas, writing from germany. This blog may be a place where I put some stuff, showing the process of building my own MB808-Clone. I have to say I am not alone in this battle :)
My brother just joined in my little group of infected people. So what we do so far? We just etched two voice boards from microLarge containing the basedrum, snardrum, claps and maracas.
I although got an lpcexpresso board so I can have a look in the sequencer code running.
Write now I am developing a base board f
Hey all,
I have bought a transformer from Reichelt with 2*15V AC. For the 9090 I need to have a 4pin connection with the following values:
pin1: 15V
Pin2: 0V
Pin3: not connected
Pin4: 15V
You can see in the picture that I only use one output of the transformer (pin 8 and 10, I do not use pin 12 and 14). Can someone tell me if this is correct?
Cheers Jef
sammichFM was designed to be the “no excuses†MIDIbox FM synthesizer kit – i.e. for all those people who want a MIDIbox FM but consider building it with modules too time-consuming, too newbie-unfriendly and/or too hard to design and construct a control surface.
sammichFM therefore has the following design constraints/features, which support each other: looks a lot like sammichSID cheap (relative to fully modular MIDIbox FM with “pro-looking†control surface) small DIY newbie friendly
Studying for the last two weeks for an exam yesterday, I didn't have a lot of time to put in the project.
But I now have almost all the parts for the 9090. I used the subatomicglue excel file and got most parts at Mouser.
The 2sd1469R I had to order from Nikko electronics (wwww.dalbani.co.uk), the rest I ordered from Reichelt.de.
If you would ever consider ordering parts in Europe: reichelt is a lot cheaper the Mouser, damn I which I first looked at Reichelt :-(
I waited for the PCB's to
1. Sektion 16 Potis , 14 Taster , 14 Leds
Stand : Front fertig lackiert, Teile montiert,
2. Sektion 2 Potis , 11 Leds , 5 Encoder
Stand : Aluplatte fertig, Teile montie
Hey all,
I am starting this blog so everybody can follow how I am doing with the MB9090 project.
This can also be a place on this great site where people can find answers if they would like to do the same thing or post comments.
I should also mention that I am not an electronics expert at all, I have only made a few small things before I started building a xoxbox.
The xoxbox is now working....great machine.
I have read through files here and gone through other websites and would like
This morning saw the panel components fitted to the paper copy of the panel in order to check the clearance around the knobs, switches and jacks. It looked promising and photos reside in a Canon somewhere. I hope to put those up later, plus a quick how-to for people using Front Panel Designer - there are some interesting tricks to discover.
Then came the time to fit the paper to the rack just below the MB-SEQ. Interesting! Somehow I figured the SEQ was 4U high, but it's only 3U! Guess the 4U
Been at it for some time now. I'm building a mystery.
I figured that it would be nice to combine the awesomeness in a cute little box that is the MB SEQ with my ongoing modular. I snatched a couple of sequencer front panels from Julian F and finished two sequencers, one for me, one for my partner in crime - mr F.
After assembling a whole host of modules, both of our own design and PCBs sourced from various people on the electro-music forum it all came together thanks to the Aou
In general I don't recommend starting any project with an enclosure that is smaller than what you can fit a proto version of your project in. But my enclosure supply just about gone, so I'll use what I have. The tekbox from TEKO enclosures. (NOTE: If for some insane reason you decide to emulate this work in progress, buy a tekmar case. It's the same but bigger)
Stage 1: Planning (barely) ahead.
Since this isn't a masterpiece by the MB gods, I 'm just going to build the control su
I've been a huge fan of the MB808 project however, I'm broke in the "I'm married", "whats mine is her's" sort of way :D. As such, my projects are typically small, hacked and require parts I had on hand from before I got married. With the exception of my MB6582. So here I am embarking on my 808 with just overstock and samples.
The original MB-808 is far more project than I had in mind. I have a drum machine with all the kits I want, I just need to trigger it. I also want something small an
MIDIBox SlideControl is a remote control solution for Kodak Carousel slide projectors aimed at event usage.
It was a sometimes painful process of about 1.5 years to arrive at the solution at last. Success would not have been possible without the great midibox community! Thank you!
Introduction
One box "on stage" receives MIDI and button presses to switch slides forward/backwards. Due to the long distances to be bridged (10-50 meters), it was necessary to use the CAN protocol/MBNet to trans
