Well 15 years has past:) but just want to share a small note on troubleshooting rebooting, crackling noise and/or lcd problems. Regarding a sammichSID 2x 8580r5. The 7805 regulator: There are a few different regulator types. If !! the 7805 get’s her input voltage thru the 9v supply line (7809). So not the 12v option: From the output of the 7809 it goes to two(4001 ) diodes to protect and cause a voltage drop to the input of the 7805. My theory is that the input voltage gets dropped to low for some regulators to stay stable in certain configurations. I had issues with a 7805CV regulator it requires ~8v minimal to stay stable(specs). so when the current draw is increased due to using real sids/backlight etc it gets easily unstable. Crackling noise and reboots in my case. I changed it to a 7805CT regulator that stay’s stable till 7v input(specs). Everything runs perfect now. =>no crackling-no reboots. sharing is caring ❤️

Arrived and kicking. Thank u for your service ❤️

Hi sgw32, Would also like to buy one from u without sid’s. Preferable in a reflective yellow/gold enclosure?:) if still available i have two 6852 sidchips regarding the capacitor values Much love, Hans

You are right! My mistake ill delete it.

Similar discussion featuring dutch houses, better to connect the pc and adaptor to an "earthed" outlet: http://computertotaal.nl/forumarchief/1-moederborden--processors--overklokken--casemodding-en-koeling/73388-hoe-zit-dat-met-geaard-stopcontact Same deal in my house so very interesting stuff (dutch-site). Anyway good luck earthwise and congrats with your working MB6582:)

nice! If you dont want to mess with main voltage use a earth free external outlet : https://www.google.nl/search?q=aarde+loos+stekkerdoos&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjxzPL9s5DMAhUKjCwKHUQ5A5sQ_AUIBygB&biw=1280&bih=631 Probably thats the best choice for now
-
:) Yep agree:) if so a solution could be isolation(not connect) the earth pin in the 220v plug (stekker) or use a flat 220v plug(earth pin less en discard the 0v connection ), if i'm correct.. x

Hi Dreamer, So u are shure that +15v is connected on the +site? where the bridge rectifier says + The switch interups/closes one ac channel sounds like u switch Ground on /off instead of +15v. then+15v is always there and so when another ground is introduced(other plugged gear) it will start up? just a thought. x

Hi, Just looked at your pictures. Maybe there is a short where the yellow wire crosses the hole? Perhaps test the solderjoint and the hole with the multimeter. X

as it turned out i had the green fillin one one stuffed with 8580' aswell. Bit bad painted engravings tho.

Hi, Selling my sammichSID combo; 1- green fill in 6581 8580R5's 1-white fill in 8580's Sold ill need to open them up to take picture of the sid's. all working like supposed. Reason: finished 2 mb6582's and wanting to buy the 1u mb6582 supporter:) the one @strophlex sells €350,- including shipping €700,- including the pma5(without adaptor) if desired. located in the Netherlands shipping needs calculating but €700 will cover it all i guess. not for the money but for the gear! x

Psu getting bit hot shown cooled by a cold beer and need to add some knobs Frontplated was an cnc expiriment on lexan glass. Kept the leds and lcd under the plate and the engraving well just pressed stop on the cnc machine;) https://soundcloud.com/akkadian-records/p8bitch

Hi chuck p.m. sent;)

Thanks this enlightens a lot good thing i let my a500 psu live.

nice psu! Would it be a good idea to make it 10VAC,due to the elimination of humming since the 7809/7812 need burnoff voltage? Like MissionBrown uses 15vdc at the 9vac input () just wondering about this during the weekend staring at my amiga psu thinking would it work. I used the white brick 5v/1,7A that caused hum. i had a blackbrick laying around without an connector so instead of wiring the amiga psu i wired the black brick(same specs as moonk) Seemed that the blackbrick reduced the hum more to the background. for now the blackbrick is my friend:) inside my mb6582: there are 2 8580r5 chips (with white brick bit hum ,with blackbrick almost silent) There are 6 6581 chips (with white brick a helicopter, with blackbrick stil a bit hummy/hf artifact-sounds) So i was thinking since the mb6582 adds 5vdc and 9 vac to make 12vdc(if im correct), would the 6581 chips be more silenced (humming wise) if the 7812 regulator got some more voltage to burn?. I'm new at psuWorld but probably 10vac would be a good choice for 6581 stuffed boxes(unverified/theoretically)?, hence the 2200pf 16vcould handle this( since 10vac is rectified around 14,1vdc right? ) or am i just an hummingbird;)? i'll leave my amiga supply in his glory and go for pro like oranges box! just need the right juice for a hum-free environment! greetz Hans

Cool thnx, i used Tims 2200pf wich was supplied with the kit,so full trust in that:) Going to try it out. Peace

Does strophlex means feeding it to the 9v ac input on he connector? This because it goes thru the rectifier which should make ac dc right? I just want to be sure before i cut the A500 cable and make it adapt the mb6582 supply socket. still a bit wierd to make 12v dc /9v dc and the let the mb6582 add 5 v dc to make 12vdc again. Well Confusing :) i just dont want to open it up and rewire the mb6582. maybe i just should go a build a new adaptor. ps:if this is possible i geuss the cap rated 2200pf 16v ,would have a to low voltage rating right, pff i feel noob now:P

Thnx Peter for the info, As for the crowbar i made it internal in the mb6582, Im going to read some more i geuss:) Btw u make nice music! peace! Hans
