wilba...if there are spares left or new batch is started...please contact me...i am still interested in one of this nice little FM-Synths! Regards MaG2k
  4. Hi Martin, sorry for all the english speaking peoples here...the next sentences i have to write in german. Herzlichen Dank! Best regards Matthias
  5. yes Peter is right...thanx a lot to you martin for your hard work. i hope the timetable will not change to much cause i yesterday came out of the hospital and have to go back for surgery in four weeks. so i hope that i catch the payment and the reception of the knobs in that time if not i hope that the payment date is befor the 24th of february. So thanx again for your great work. i hope that it will not overcharge you! Reards Matthias
  6. Are there any news about pricing from albs regards mag2k
  7. hey fairlightiii... i allready thought that the integration of the PCB is that high that no integration of displayports is possible. Your idea of an 8x1 matrix is also realy good...so it is easyer to stack more encoder matrices in the amount of distance you need. thats pretty cool. :-) oh you are using a full featured version of eagle...that costs a lot of money at all. :-) i do understand that a PCB desing change is only intersting i more people are interested in an other design...thats why i brought the idea about 4x4 matrix and LCDs here on topic to discuss it. :-) So if you think it is not interessting for more persons than me you can erase the wishlist entry of me in the wiki-page. i hope that you don't understand me wrong...i like the PCBs Fairlightii made very much...its great job and i think it was lots of work! Thanx for it fairlightiii!!! Best Regards MaG2k
  8. Hi Duggle, the 6x1 LCDs in my opinion can be enough for short label and (switching to level value if the encoder is turned) and level. do you always need a long label like cutoff, sustain, release...for me it would be enough to see labels in short like cut, rel, sus... But as i told there is a problem getting the 6x1 LCDs at the moment...the seller has no offers at ebay at the moment. But you are right...you shurely kann use a 16x2 LCD covering two encoders as shown above in T.K.s post. i also think about that solution but i think it would be nicer if the displays will find its place on top of every two encoders. in the momentary solution you only can place 4 16x2 LCDs above the top 8 encoders and 4 other 16x2 LCDs under the buttom 8 encoders. Regards MaG2k
  9. hey fairlightiii... i will start too bring some other improvements to the wishlist for a newer revision of the PCB. Some days ago i discussed with T.K. about the new firmware option to hook up up to 64 16x2 LCDs because some weeks ago i found on ebay a seller who sold nice 6x1 LCDs for around 2,50€ each. The seller don't have any offers on ebay at the moment as i postet in the "MB NG" section under "display options" a link to the polish homepage of the distributor. http://artronic.pl/o_produkcie.php?id=1328? So wouldn't it be nice to have an CLCD above each encoder (+ LED-rings) that shows the encoder lable (auto label or userlable) and the exact value if the encoder is turned. I don't realy know if this is possible by the software but as i understand T.K. right it is imaginable. It would be nice i T.K. can loose some words on that topic and the feasibility of that "daydream". I calculated a little around and came to the conclusion that the 6x1 displays i found are a little to big for the actual PCB layout. the encoders are to close together. So the PCB must be bigger and if it is possible the LCDs could get an connector directly on the PCBs??? The second wish could be a little bit easier (i hope so)...is it possible to do a makeover of the actual PCB design so that the encoders and LEDs are aranged in a 4x4 matrix instead of 2x8? can you tell us which layout-software you are using? Regards MaG2k
  10. if you want to have a building-plan...tell me and give me your email via PM. I can send you a PDF-file today in the evening with the dimensioning! Regards MaG2k
  11. hi guys, here some pictures of the running box with "blue glowing". is not the final solution...i have to order some SMD LEDs at first and the solder five in a row onto a longer veroboard. i thinkt that then the whole front is glowing blue. :-) i watched my drilling mask again...i would start to add the dimensions to i but realized that it isnt that easy, cause the material thickness is not exactly 6mm (its 5,6-5,8) so the sideparts you have to measure and construct them according to your exact material thikness. so this is the reason why i let them out. Regards MaG2k

  14. hi Johey and Hi Antix... Antix: yes you are right...the small veroboard is only a temporary solution...it only holds two blue LEDs connected to the 5V connector of the GM5x5x5 PCB. Its only for the atmosphere but also to make visible that the box is getting power...because when no active MIDI-device is connected to the MIDI-IN sockets you see nothing...nothing tells you if the box is alive or not. Johey: i commented the pics in the gallery some minutes ago...it made of 6mm white semitransparent frosted acryl...i cutted the parts on my "Proxxon FET" mini tabletop-saw. i drilled all holes by my selfe with a box column drill using a hole cutter (hope it is clear what i meant...cause i used a translation help so i don't know if the machines and tools are correclty translated...in german "Ständerbohrmaschine" and "Schälbohrer"). As you can see...now visible screws at all...but its a lie...cause the buttom-part is held with four screws. the other parts are glued with a special acrylic glue that seems to be realy good. (ACRIFIX 1R 0192)...a special hint on it...it needs light to harden...if you use UV light it hardes much faster...so if you have an exposuring machine for making PCBs you can used to harden the glue. i use a "face-solarium" (is made of 6 UV tubes) to exposure my PCBs (works realy good) and used it for the glue too. if you don't have a UV-light-source...sunlight is the best solution...but realize..the glue hardens on light...so don't glue it direcly in the sun or under the UV-light-source...first bring the glue in place an then bring your device into the light. :-) hardening time is around 20 minutes with UV-light and the same amount in direct sunlight. I made some drilling masks in AutoCAD so if you are interested tell me. (but i have to add dimensoning at first) regards Matthias
  15. The little brownish veroboard on buttom part of the box only holds to blue LEDs. They are only to visualize that the box is "ON" because if you plug in the USB-Plug and no active sending MIDI-device is connected to the Inputs you don't see that the box is alive. Its only a temporary solution because the two LEDs only make a blue spot in the middle of the box...i have to order some SMD-LEDs to make the hole front glowing in blue. :-)
  16. its a selfmade box...made from 6mm white semitransparent frosted acryl. I cutted it on my mini tabletop-saw from proxxon. http://www.proxxon.com/eng/html/27070.php the top- and sideparts are glued with a special acrylic glue (ACRIFIX 1R 0192). so yes its a custombox :-)
  17. its 6mm white semitransparent frosted acryl.
  18. first box is ready.... made of 6mm semitransparent white frosted acrylic... again thanx a lot nILS!!! Regards MaG2k P.S.: i am sad that i can't engrave it on my one!

  21. Hi T.K. some weeks ago i ordered some 20x2 LCDs for me and two of the 6x1 LCDs for a colleague of me. I got them on ebay but the link i posted here is the official polish website of the seller. I searched on ebay today but found that the seller doesnt have any offers on ebay at the moment. i hope that he will make offers next time again. if not i can try to contact him on his polish webform. the displays them self were realy cheap...as i remeber right the were around 2,50€ each. The time they took from poland to me was around 3-4 days. the came certified mail. But i cant say something about how good they are...the colleague of me doesn't have time to check them. about the display-text-topic you wrote...if i understand you correct it is only possible to make the lable fix...it would be nice if the base setting for the encoder lables is the CC that is programmed to them. if the user will change it to a userlable it would be nice to do it also via the menu of the runing MB NG Core. Its a little difficult to discribe what i mean. think on a big audio mixing console like studer, lawo or stagetek...label above every channel strip naming the channel...(in our case the encoder)...automaticly named with CC name and could be changed by user to text of his choice (only change the text but not the function). then it would be nice to have the possibility to save this as a user preset so that you can use the encodermatrix for different midi devices (synths) but always the correct "channelnaming" and function can be restored. Hope it comes a little clearer now. i will have an eye on ebay the next weeks hoping he will offer some of that displays again. the encoder-rows of fairligthiii's design are a little to close together to give an LCD above every encoder. The only possibility is as you showed above "over-under". Regards Matthias
  22. hi T.K. wouldn't that be a nice display for e.g. the LRE8x2 project as a kind of lable display? http://artronic.pl/o_produkcie.php?id=1328? i didn't realized a MBNG Core yet, so please forgive me my dumb question...is it possible to use for example 16 of those 6x1 LCDs as a kind of labledisplay above each encoder and is it possible if the encoder is not be turned that in the display a lable is writen in short (like...CC01, CC02, CC03 or user edited shorts ENV, ATT, SUS, REL, CUT....) and if it is be turned that it shows the value (0-127)??? How will that many LCDs be applied to the core??? Regards MaG2k
  23. thanx for your reply T.K.... okay then the choice is much easier for me, cause then i only order the red one with 25mcd and take the 2x5 with 3,7mcd out of my orderlist. that saves a little money...i red the build guide for the MB6582 written by hawkeye...he wrote something about the encoders and as you can see i have documented some problems with the bours encoder here in that thread. so i decided to take hawkeyes prefered encoders onto my orderlist and they are realy much expensiver and an order of 120 pieces is a lot of money. :-) ther it is good to save money at the LEDs side! :-) Regards and Thanx again for your help! Matthias
