  1. Hi T.K. and Fairlightiii, as i red your post about the brightness of the 5x2 LEDs i smashed my hands together over my head...because i would like to order 5x2 LEDs at mouser. but i looked in your good and bad LED list and saw that the one you used from mouser are different. the one i found is thisone: http://de.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Lite-On/LTL-433HR/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs4quMj8r4lmtqjHxr0ZwUoLwbrnVHqAN4%3d they do have 3,7mcd and are hence brighter than the round one from Reichelt (they have 2,5mcd). what do you think about these one? i didnt ordered them right now...but in february i will place an order so it would be nice to here of you if it could be i positiv candidat! Regards MaG2k P.S.: what do you think about this round LEDs 3mm from Mouser: http://de.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Kingbright/WP132XID/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs4quMj8r4lmsNxrQ0ZQMdoZ%2fc%2fv7yOhNA%3d they have 25mcd....will they be to bright???
  2. Hi SmashTV, it was not my intent to say that they are bad but i relized that every of the 17 encoder has an other behavior...the most are nearly equal with only minimal differences but some are realy differnt from the others...they are turning like they have grease inside the encoder. the time i needed for soldering was on every encoder equaly. I think because of my work i do have nearly professional solder skills but it could also be possible that some tolerances in the encoder or solderingtime evoke this behavior. But as i said some posts before i will buy a lot of encoders at mouser next months so that i will be shure that i buy good one. Regards MaG2k
  3. i don't know were SmashTV ordered them and i will check that one i will order at Mouser...manufacturer of thatone i will order is bourns!
  4. i think one wouldnt be enough for the projects i have open...but i think to order 100 pieces of each. so my question was only to safe money because i imagined that anybody here means this one or that one would be better. so i could save to buy both. But thanx for your help...i think i have to try it out. What i realized on the detend version i have in the SEQV4 is that eachone of the 16 encoders has an other haptic feeling. they are all different. some are click very hard and are easy to turn, some are realy soft and are harder to turn. i think i better buy many and select them which should come together on one device. Regards MaG2k
  5. you dont realy have to remove them...you have the choice at buying them...ther are 3 Versions available...one without detends, one with 12 detends and one with 24 detends per revolution. so thatswhy my question was only about the feeling. i have to decide which one i buy next time and i'm arguabel which one is better... Regards MaG2k
  6. i have a short question to the encoders that are used.... what is better the version with detends or without detends? what feels and works better? without detends i think it feels mor like a "poti" but is it usefull on those devices like this encoder matrix or other projects like MB6582? Regards MaG2k
  7. hi lamouette, its a hard coating but feels realy soft. color is matching better to the black frotpanel as it looks on the piture! regards MaG2k
  8. okay...allready started that as new topic in "parts". Thanx for the hint kristal= it shouldn't be part of your BO. Regards MaG2k
  9. Hey folks, i found some interessting datawheel knobs a time ago as i searched for a nice one for my SEQV4 and i found some nice at a german electronic distributor "voelkner" (has the same product range as "conrad"). I also testet the ALPS DK38 but i like the "Cliff Encoder Knob" more because better haptic feeling (it has a metal weight in its body). there are two types of them with different weight. i like the heavyer more. have a look to it: the heavy one: http://www.voelkner.de/products/339068/Cliff-Encoder-Knopf-K18-CL71650B-Schwarz-Achs-Durchmesser-6-mm.html the more lighter weight: http://www.voelkner.de/products/339070/Cliff-Encoder-Knopf-K18-CL71660B-Schwarz-Achs-Durchmesser-6-mm.html same in different color: http://www.voelkner.de/products/339067/Cliff-Encoder-Knopf-K18-CL71650A-Grau-Achs-Durchmesser-6-mm.html and the lighter one: http://www.voelkner.de/products/339069/Cliff-Encoder-Knopf-K18-CL71660A-Grau-Achs-Durchmesser-6-mm.html the cheaper one is always the lighter one! the only problem of it is that it is not for a "D"-shap shaft...that means not for the used encoders...but it works great...it fits and feels and also looks great! here a picture of my SEQV4 with that datawheelknob. you could think about to offer them to the others too....they are realy feel better then the DK38...but they are more expensive! here a picture of my SEQV4 with that knob fitted... (i allready searching for the encoder knobs in the picture...i bought a SEQV4 CS Kit from SmashTV were they were part of it...he told me that the manufacturer of that knobs dont produce them anymore or they do it only you order a real big value.) Regards MaG2k

  11. nice haptic feeling cause it has a weight inside the knobbody. isnt "D"-shape shafts but fits and feels better then the ALP DK38 knob.
  12. @kristal=: for you in german too: Danke dir! ;-)
  13. hey kristal= i added myself to the BO list. Can you have a look to it...cause i dont know if i understood it right with minimum pieces and multiple of 5. Thanx! Regards MaG2k
  14. You know...for me it is better if you start sending after XMAS. So relax...have a nice XMAS and nice holydays. :-) Merry Christmas to all of you midibox gurus out there on the planet! :-) Regards MaG2k
  15. Yeah.....they are blue!!! :-) Thanx for that hard work nILS...merry Christmas and some quit days for realxing and forgetting the stress you had with that BO. ;-) Regards MaG2k
  16. Hello Fairlightiii, are there some news about the ordering status? Regards MaG2k
  17. Hi Hawkey, from that point of view you are right! its save to buy that many because to buy more without any interessted person at the moment its only more cost for fairlight. And as Peter said....thanx for the work! it will be hard work to handle all the parcels! Regards MaG2k
  18. hi jérôme, that would be okay...but its allready nearly 50% on the grand value...and thats a little hard...when i order from smashTV its always around 20-25%. you wrote that we are arround 181 PCBs to order...so if there are only 19 PCBs left to 200 you should fill them up...i think there will be some users out there who wants to have one or to more PCBs later or there will be some latecomers. :-) Regards MaG2k
  19. hi fairlightiii... little story about tayda electronics and german customs. I ordered on friday evening a lot of parts (in sum around 3500 parts), many resistors, LEDs, IC...for a realy good price. It was around 90$...with the discount coupon code it was arround 77$. Because i saved a lot of money with that discount code i ordered it via DHL express delivery...it made an extra of 35$. so the grand value was around 111$. the delivery tayda and DHL made in lightspeed. ordered on friday at 10pm (GMT) delivered at 5pm (GMT) on monday and the delivery was all the time trackable. Great job...but!!!....then came german customs and calculated a tax and fees about 33€ that are around 47$...and is more 50% on the merchandise value (90$-14$=76$ and around 62% on the by discount code reduced merchandise value). but overall i can say it is allready much cheaper to order at tayda electronics than here in germany at reichelt. not for all parts but for those tayda has. Packaging was okay, no visible damages. Had no time to test the parts till now but if you can see in many unboxing videos at youtube about tayda there is all okay. Trotzdem ist Tayda ein guter Tip wie ich finde! but all in all tayda is a good hint for those of you who will order a lot of parts like resistors, LED, sockets or ICs! don't forget to search for discount codes...that saves on top a lot of money! :-) regards MaG2k
  20. Is there a possibility to get a coordinate mask were i can get the positions for drill holes for the encoder shafts and the LED positions? Regards MaG2k
  21. Paid!
  22. hi kristal= is your bulk order question about an SEQ V4 Case like that T.K. used (17" Desktop Case by Heidenreich)? If so i am interessted in! Regards
