Hey, Havnt't been following this project to closely - but is this sram module spose to consume 1 whole core? If so, Smash had an idea to make it like a plug-on brd that just sits on the core - would be ideal eh :) I think by the sounds of the last few comments some improvements can still be made no? So mightaswell wait till its 'go' to make a brd proto/upload files etc... TL, PCB layout is a kinda voodoo science it seems and I don't understand 99.9% of it - my shit prolly only looks 'nice' as I'm from a graph design/page layout background - my 1st pcb was done in illustrator! (and was a mess looking back) ::) Been using eagle for a while now and liking it bigstyle - kinda like logic in terms of learning curve tho...perseverance n gui pokery needed. Just thought - if a few dif types of ram can be used I guess it'd make sense to allow for this on the pcb too if possible... -

Well, here's another layout...single sided, 2 bridges (+5V/GND lines): Had to change a few connex from TLs' original schemo in order to route without that many bridges... -

ez ekaf... I'll have a go at the pcb....for some mios coding credits which will be needed in the future tho ;) peesh -
We're on a 2.54mm (standard) grid here with the layouts on ucapps so them would be the size headers u want...2.00mm is indeed to small ;)
-
Sure, I could test em... I've got a brd already made (the proto1) which works, but am etching some stuff up this week so could just make up another mbfm while I'm at it...

Great work T! - looking n sounding mighty mighty... :)

With the old mbhp stuff you could upload apps via the JDM. But we are rolling with the new n improved MIOS nowadays so you just burn the bootstrap loader as already mentioned... Once this is done you then take the PIC, plop it in a core, syx MIOS then the same with whatever apps u want...gravy really  ;) Mebbe u should get a PIC from SmashTV with the bootstrap loader already burnt...then follow the instructions on the bootstrap loader page (on the ucapps site) for uploading shit with a mac... Best, D

I don't think Moebius was having a go at you personally Twin-X - just a lil upfront with the probs he's been having maybe? - perhaps English is neither his 1st language either... He's contributed alot with help n advice in this forum tho - that i do know ;) Peesh

So any pointers on a decent (cheap!) scope? I think its time I got one...

Hey Artesia wow, wow n wow again... :) this all looks fantastic - can't wait to peep the project pages when up n running - testing/analysing is summin I really need to get to grips with! and the speaker stuff too - great stuff all round! Nice1!

Hey adam cheers, 2 are needed tho for the opl brd as u know - so one on its own would mean I'd still have find another 1...
-
Can u sort out just the yac chips on theyre own? I had to get 2 old cards (for the 2 yac chips) so i've a spare YMF chip kicking about which I guess I mightaswell use for 2nd mbfm ;)
-
interesting...fpga eh, mebbe they also have the necessary skills to assist in a adat s/mux controller for the adda project started way back when :)
-
Great work T! :) I noticed you've a phono on the backpanel there for spdif - that addition all ready to go to then? Also, those 2 tx's - is that one for analog supply and the other for digi ye? Best! D

the panasonic mf's dont have a touch track, u need to use buttons connected as norm to din, then just set em as mios emulated touchtracks... From lc_io_table.inc: ;; 16th shift register ;; button LED db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN1, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN2, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN3, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN4, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN5, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN6, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN7, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host) db ID_FADER_TOUCH_CHN8, ID_IGNORE ; (no LED supported by host)

Hey... Have u got a price sorted on those alps? I think theyre gonna be pretty dear...u'll need lin track for midibox, log for audio no? or is the idea to have 2 lin tracks and use one for vca control? Also, say your using these in the LC/MC app would it be possible to switch between controlling either s/w (logic for instance) and ext analog vol at any givin time? Perhaps you can live without a touch track and just use a regular switch positioned by the fader for a mios emulated touchtrack? works pretty damn well and will prolly knock a few nuggets of the cost :) Best

ye u can have the dxf designs - hit me up with an email addy... be warned tho, u may need to change some panel cutouts to fit your brd designs...

Hey guys... Please put down the soldering irons and donate whatever u can, this thing has taken over 100,000 lives already and that figure will continue to rise :'( https://www.donate.bt.com/bt_form_dec.htm http://www.redcross.org.uk https://www.redcross.org/

yup, think it's gonna have to be regular control (using meta events as u say) from a regular midibox rather then makin a new one around it...nuffin much inside to tinker with, except mebbe a better audio ckt for the outs...
