  1. Just in case someone hasn't seen my previous posts from a while back... it should be possible for those with a registered version of logic, and who are using a Mac (I guess this means you, Rowan!) to be able to use HUI enabled programs, with a freely downloadable application from Emagic, that works with the Logic control (Logic control acts like a HUI) ;)
  2. Thanks for this information! It is very handy! ;D
  3. You guys never cease to amaze me, with all your soundcard hacks... transforming one of the least into one of the best!! Once you have finished your hacks, you will have some mighty fine pieces of audio gear!! good luck!! ;) BTW, I am using an old inca88 soundcard, 8in/8out, with direct monitoring facility, works well with logic 5 ;D It is fairly good value for money, but at 16bits, it is tricky to get good dynamic range without clipping!! I have a total of 5 soundcards in my PC! :P just because I had some spare cards around, and needed the midiports! ;) (but the onboard s/c dosen't work :'(, I gave up trying to get it functioning with all the others after 2 days trying! >:( oh well! ::))
  4. which pcb are you using? One of the MB64 releases used a PCM method for dimming the backlight, but it caused jitter problems, and it was scrapped.
  5. I think that LCD is specially made for Mackie, at 55x2 characters...
  6. well done, that's amazing stuff you guys have done together! He He, I'm sure that the manufacturers of sound cards hoped that end users wouldn't be as smart as you guys!! This has to be the best audio website on the net!
  7. You sure know how to find stuff Rowan 8), how do you do it :-/
  8. no.... I also had a look on the net, and midiman are working on a wireless midi link using bluetooth, and there are a couple of other companies that have already sold such devices (can't remember names though) which are very expensive, one used RF, and it was $1699 for a link (can't remember if it was 2 way or not)
  9. read the thread about panasonic encoders if you missed Nat's order... (in relation to earlier posts)
  10. build the rest of your box, so its ready for when you get the encoders... that bit takes the longest of all!! Or buy just one encoder locally, to test your box works, until you get the rest... that's what I did, and used toggle switches to switch the encoder into the circuit, (one switch for each encoder) so I had almost complete functionality.
  11. sorry, I'm in a bad mood, thanks M$.
  12. M$.... make me very dissapointed, I am currently reinstalling windows on my music pc, as I installed service pack3, and then my machine would no longer boot! For one of the most richest companies in the world, their client support is dismal... I paid nearly $600 Aussie, for win2000, only to have a product that dosen't really work less than 2 years after I bought it!!! not to mention all the maintainence to keep it from crashing! unfortunately I'm not a fan of apple either!! :(
  13. maybe you could try them anyway, if the pinouts look normal?
  14. just follow the photo for this, and you'll be fine!! (I think there is another photo of this on the forum somewhere as well as the one you have)
  15. can these functions be used to switch the LCD meters into ledring bars on 40x2? (sick of soldering!)

    MIDIbox SID

you need a midi interface, if you have a soundblaster or similar card, all you need to add is a cheap midi breakout cable, I have seen these on ebay, but I have built 3 myself yes, you can control the midibox Sid with a controller keyboard, any midi keyboard should be ok.
  17. is it a 3 position toggle, or slide? Jaycar in Australia have a similar looking slide switch, but I'm not sure about the quality, it might be bad :'( and only 2 position.
  18. This comes up frequently, so I thought I'd post these... FIRST OF ALL, GO TO "How to program a pic" LINK IN MENU ON www.ucapps.de then follow the next link... http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=troubleshooting;action=display;num=1040106004;start=2#2 http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=troubleshooting;action=display;num=1042977205;start=2#2 http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=troubleshooting;action=display;num=1040106004;start=10#10 http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=troubleshooting;action=display;num=1056027618;start=1#1 also, make sure you have enabled the win2000 driver if you are using win2000... :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  20. Tell us which hex file you are trying to program, and copy the text that comes up in the windows of ic prog, and paste it here, and tell us what all the configuration settings in the ic prog window are (or just put up a screenshot, if you can). I may not be able to help you, but anyone who can help will probably ask you for this information anyway....
  21. Hi, and welcome to the midibox community!! Problems like these have been addressed many times on other threads, so you might find some information elsewhere on the forum. Apart from that, have you followed Thorsten's 'how to program' advice carefully? good luck, from Steve ;)
  22. Thanks, I think it was one of the free versions, 4pro or 5?, but I'm not sure.
  23. Hey, a few months back, someone asked me if I knew if the midibox could control the functions in mixvibes DJ software... I had a look, but couldn't figure out how to configure the remote control settings (and my midibox 64 is on loan anyway, probably will be for a long time, now that I have an LC.. Doh, that's on loan too !) so I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this software. Thanks, from Steve
  24. very cheap, us aussies are definately getting ripped off down here... my vectorboard to mount buttons on LC cost around $30 Australian, from Dick Smith!
