  1. Hi! Sure you can! All you need is a Core and two DIN boards! You will connect each key to an input of the DIN boards, 32x2=64 keys! Check www.ucapps.de for info!
  2. Sure T.K.! But then again I saw they released the pic18f4550 series, being an F pic it impressed me! It seems that I'll have to solder down the SMD usb chip!!!
  3. Thanks for the reply Thorsten! I am aware of the effort you spend on your project and I surely don't want to e a pain in the ass! The only reason I asked about this chip is the simplicity of the circuits (and the already built codes) that microchip offers for USB keyboard, mouse and joystick! So I thought maybe it could have been that easy. Thanks for all the amazing project! uclaros
  4. Sure! You'll have to use a relay switch instead of a led on the dout module and assign it to the CC# used by the record button!
  5. I found out today that microchip has a new PIC for USB. PIC18F4550 is even usb2 compliant, is in a pdip 40pin package easy to solder, and comes in free samples from microchip! I don't know if it could be used for midibox to usb or what the effort will be , but I think that it is worth a look by T.K. or those who are into programming PICs.
  6. Hi! you can go check at the portal (www.midibox.org) at the download section. I've posted some .PDFs that are ready to print! (yes, the .brd file is a 1:1 cad)

  8. I guess I'm cancelling mine too. Except if the final price including shipment to europe is much less than 1 euro a piece.
  9. Hi all (ones with more electronics knowlege than me!) I want to build a car charger for a friend's mp3 player. It says it need 5v (I think about 400-500 ma). Is it OK if I just use a 7805 directly from the car's lighter-outlet or are there any dangers I should consider? maybe i need some filter caps? any advice is welcome! Thanks , uclaros
  10. Well, rowan, since you are in new zealand, maybe you should check what the shipping cost will be for us in europe or others in the us. if it's not too cheap, then maybe it would be better to order from the guy at .nl uclaros
  11. U can find both OPA2604 mentioned on the schematic and  RC4580 (a replacement for ne5532) as free samples at www.ti.com ! question: what type are the caps labeled 22BP??
  12. Hi, well, you could use eight 16f877! ;)
  13. hi ! no, you don't need to disable the lcd. You just don't connect it! but unless it is built for a special reason, you'll miss buttons, leds, lcd, banksticks etc!
  14. Cool! Can the detent be removed like on other encoders?
  15. Did you cut the round plexiglass yourself? is yes , how? if not, where did you get it? the buttons look very cool!!!
  16. Hi, you will surely do no harm to the sound card but only to your ears. Clean sounds may not sound very bad, but when it comes sto distortion.... I think 65$ is worth spending if you plan on recording on the PC.
  17. Hi, I wonder if the 16c765 could be used for another USB module. The chip comes in PDIP 600mm and is a sample at microchip. They have sample code for a mouse and a joystick! Interesting! http://www.microchip.com/1010/pline/picmicro/category/perictrl/14kbytes/devices/16c765/index.htm
  18. Well, I think you'll have to use three cores...
  19. I believe this nationalization is not such a good idea. Problems will be posted to the national forums and will not be read by others having the same probs! In order to know who's near you we can allways use the "map thing" someone has posted. What I believe will be VERY usefull to many people is "collective orders" and "part swapping". Midibox construction can be very cheaper if we use mass ordered parts for lower prices. And last, about that "pic burning" , I know that it is a pain to try and answer to all people having a simple (or not) problem with JDM, BUT debuging the JDM is a good start for the midibox project. Most often the problems are bad soldering or something similar. If people start ordering preburned pics, then the JDM problems will become CORE problems etc. collective orders!collective orders!collective orders!!!
  20. Well, what I actually mean is the opposite of the "toaster" that Ryan posted! I thought of a driver for the PC that translates the incoming midi messages to moves of a virtual joystick! On that way you could have a joystick with not only 4 analog axes and 4 buttons that the gameport supports!
  21. well, maybe if you described where you want to use it, .... The leds can react to midi messages sent by the program instead of the button position too. So if your program has midi transmit for events, like cubase sx...
  22. If you have good prices, i think you'll get a lot of customers here!!! I could be interested too!
  23. Just a thought... Could there be a driver or something to make midi messages into joystick moves and buttons? Flight simulators will never be tha same again with a MIOS panel!!!
  24. Hi, what you ask for is more than easy for you to do. The floorboard code is written for both note on-off and CC# messages! You just have to edit main.asm and change: #define USED_AS_KEYBOARD to 1 then of course you have to re-compile it with mpasm and then burn the pic with the new .HEX uclaros
  25. I'd give it a 4/10... Soirry pal... And even if more people thought that midibox indeed needed a logo, I suggest to have a ompetition or something! Ps. I agree about that North America fact! It's kindof like why on the globe europe and north america is on top and africa and south america on the bottom thing...
