  1. Once I get these midibox pcbs done that's next.. Only been saving up for like 5 or 6 years :'( But at those prices it has to be last on the list huh. I do however have one of them and it's sweet as.
  2. omg that's just not right man! I bet there are 100 people on these forums that would happily fight for that thing ;) You have been very naughty, now go to your room and read the manual and think about what you have done. Bad NLX! Bad! ;D In all seriousness though, it is a powerful workstation with those options and would make a good companion to the SID in the mix I suspect, a little digi here, a dash of analog there, et voila! PS just so I'm not hijacking: uhm.... Nord Modular G2
  3. It's a wigwam for a goose's bridle.
  4. You want to write to the PIC, out of the PIC? ???
  5. :o Are you for real? ;D I guess by today's standards they are slipping a bit but that's still a good synth, and definitely not a preset box! Maybe you oughtta get the sampling option and/or figure it out, you're missing out man!
  6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linseed_oil ;) That's what I thought it was, then cimo said flax oil... seems they're the same thing!
  7. Which is why I'm building your design first and then my custom twin :) Hey Davo maybe you could deal with a cardboard panel until you are sure what you want?
  8. I'm not telling you what's in my weapons bag! ;D Kyma owns all though, of course.
  9. Welcome aboard dude. Fear not being a newbie around here, we're all friendly. Sometimes ;D I like your style hahah It's an interesting setup for sure. My first thought was 'why not make a mixer controller as well, mix in the box, and sell the stanton?' followed by 'where are the LCD's?' but that's just me :) Anyway to your questions: Theoretically there could be problems running the wires from one side to the other (Core in left, AIN4x & DINx4 on right for eg), but maybe not. It's EMI I'm worried about, so some kickass shielding could sort it out... But it's neighbours will be audio cables and juice for the stanton, so personally I'd be doing two cores. Yep! See traktorizer for more inspiration ;)
  10. LOL Why didn't you record into fruity? Hey whatever, it works! That aside, doesn't seem odd to me, sounds like a standard kinda setup? Grrrr. Thankyou sir ;) Is it bass getting cut out or highs getting brought in? It seems like there's some filtersweeping going on there so I'm really not sure... Or I hope that a distortion unit would do that from about 1% ;) I assume you mean the background noise.. I wonder if you are able to properly monitor your input levels with windoze sound recorder, maybe it's clipping a bit? Sure doesn't sound that way, but it is a disto demo ;) No filtersweeps? It sure sounds like it! around 25 and 40 seconds sounds like no distortion I've ever heard... Heck pretty much the whole thing is effected isn't it? It might just be the distortion being nice, but it even sounds like the ringmod or sync or something is modulating at the end (low end growls around a bit)... I was listening quickly (I'm in the middle of Funcrusher!) on a so-so system, trying not to be loud and annoy the neighbours, so I dunno, this might all be BS.
  11. What? Nah there isn't... Here's your first post Advanced search Search for: game by user: ultra Show results as messages TICKED Search in topic subjects only TICKED ;) PS as if poeloq didn't create enough of a monster with this thread, now I've started people commenting on the game hahah
  12. :-* :o :P :-X :'(
  13. Wow I didn't Realise you superglued the LEDs in... Have you tried acetone to dissolve the glue? Anyway... Oiled Mahogany. Pure class. Something else; it also ages better, because little nicks and scratches are just natural, not a scratch in a perfect glassy surface. Very nice.
  14. Sacrilege. True though, that it's not the kind of thing one toggles on and off frequently.
  15. Did you try the parts replacement like I described in the chat?
  16. Funny, I was thinking of the MBUC earlier also... As you can see from that and most other controllers, usually more than one encoder will share a single LCD, rather than having multiple smaller LCDs. I think you should consider that methodology.
  17. You do realise, that in order to have 32x 2x20 LCDs, the box will be so big that you will need to walk from one side to the other? Everything you have spoken of is as possible as it is impractical ;)
  18. 150142814304 P&G Motorfaders?
  19. I thought you tested it with another SID chip?
  20. Aww crap!! :'( Sorry to hear it man, hang in there! The more difficult it is now, the greater achievement it will be when you're done.
  21. Pick me :) How much? What about you TK?
  22. Hah I thought the same about the xoxbox :) Sorry about the hijack :-X
  23. Heh sorry I got lost in cut'npaste land, thanks for spotting it doc! [sup]1[/sup]/R[sub]t [/sub]= [sup]1[/sup]/R[sub]1[/sub] + [sup]1[/sup]/R[sub]2[/sub] + [sup]1[/sup]/R[sub]3[/sub] ... + [sup]1[/sup]/R[sub]n[/sub] Hehehehe
  24. I think you mean polymeters - There's still no sequencer that can play polyrhythms on outboard gear... yet :) Polyrhythm: A B C A B C : A B C D A B C D : Polymeter: A B C A B C A B C A B C : A B C D A B C D A B C D : As you can see, polyrhythms require separate clocking, which is not natively supported by MIDI, so the device has to support it itself, and AFAIK, none do :( I've been pushing this for years now, it won't be long ;) (Edit: I think maybe the RM1x can do it?)
  25. welcome aboard mate :) What you want to do is possible, but maybe a little impractical. 100 buttons+leds is not soooo bad by itself, and nor is 32 encoders plus led rings, but in order to have both in one box you will require multiple core modules. 32 displays is possible but very impractical - each core can handle a single LCD, unless you're talking about PCD8544 screens (nokia) then you can have 8 per core. I would suggest two things: Firstly, have a read on the forums and wiki about DOUTs and DINs and how they work and how many can be handled, and also think about the way in which most midiboxes and commercial controllers work, in that they use 'banks' of controllers, like they might use 4 banks of 8 encoders instead of 32 physical encoders. Hope that helps!
