  1. matcom, you did read the last post, the one right before yours, right?
  2. Yeh it's a fashion trend for sure... OSC aside, it's nothing that MB64 wasn't doing years ago. Pretty buttons making people go ga-ga ;) I still have trouble seeing any real use for OSC that MIDI doesn't cover off... Timestamping is about the only thing that interests me so far. And the costs of introducing OSC are much greater than MIDI alone. It seems obsolete to me. Maybe it's because I don't use software.
  3. I'll have a go and tell you that it's not much good for my uses... Altthough *some* apps could maybe handle it, I think that is a killer :( Totally :) Me! hhhehehehe You know me well ;D
  4. The secret is to search the forums ;D Re: The MIOS Studio... she no work for me. Hope that works! Please let us know and update the wiki if you don't mind... It will help others in future :)
  5. Argh don't do it unless your funds are limitless hahahahah... I was gonna go that route but trust me, commercial will do (especially seeing as even the military don't bother with MS any more, it's all commercial rated) and even then it's a total mission... Let me know if you're gonna do it and need specs, I have a few hundred meg in a collection here.
  6. If someone else can give encouraging words about it's electronic properties, I'll buy one and help with any code required...
  7. Hah another Melburnian sweet! I think we have the highest population of midiboxers in any city :D
  8. Where'd you hear that? I've heard just the opposite... My workplace (a big one I can't name who has testing facilities matched only in maybe three places in the world) has tested it and found that to be far from true... And if you're hitting 95% CPU you need an upgrade of hardware not software ;) Edit: Never mind... This is way off topic and I don't care to try and help any more. Dive in.
  9. There's a Live clone for linux... damned if I can remember the name though :(
  10. Just to put forward my standard gripe - no software is appropriate for a live gig, because the PC/Mac/Whatever can and almost certainly will crash. Just go get the demo versions and see which one suits your personal style. The 'best' one will depend on what you want:)
  11. http://www.intelligentmachinery.net/?q=node/139 :'(
  12. Not to mention the general bugginess typical of any windows OS pre-SP2 (although lately that could be SP1 given that MS are trying hard to break that rep), lack of driver support for the few upgraded features EG WaveRT, conflicting opinions between developers about whether to support the new GUI (meaning that you can't tweak it to be optimal because different software on the same box wants a different OS config... blah blah blah... Dude, Vista is the WinME of this decade. But obviously you're keen on it, fair enough, but can you explain what benefit you think you'll see over XP?
  13. I wouldn't touch Vista if I were you FYI guys EnergyXT 2 is on the way and looks kickass
  14. You got it right
  15. Thanks for your work Seppo :) Is there a S&H board in the works too? (Just for all of us interested in lots of channels who can't find the SHX8 IC's)
  16. Soldering
  17. Are you tryna call me a dumbass? ;D
  18. Ah you blew it, if you had a dope Dvorak Keyboard like one of mine you would have had the perfect excuse ;)
  19. You can also use the wax-style printers that will print opaque white onto any colour... Your local print shop will use these.
  20. Lots of bandwidth to go around, don't go deleting images :)
  21. Oh don't worry, it's not that I'm trying to say that there are any financial problems :D I don't mean that TwinX needs money or anything... Just... well as I said to him: And the good news is that if you don't have a paypal account you can use your credit card too :) And no need to feel bad if you're hard up for cash, I get the distinct impression that TwinX does this because he's just plain nice guy ;)
  22. Can't touch this
  23. Right, that means that the spec's I've been given are false, I'll be taking mine back for a refund... Damn!! I've got 100's of dollars in these things :-\ More reason for me to look at those tasty optrex displays (they do CLCDs too)... Anyone else have a source for high contrast LCD's?
  24. Please give me the link! :) Edit: Found in your other post Re: 8xSID MB-SID PCB (aka. MB-6582) - request for comments
  25. (This is an unsponsored advertisement unrelated to the outage) Hey midiboxers, wanna say thanks? Say it with PayPal! Click the links in the top right corner :D
