  1. In the toolbox or in the delay?
  2. I think it's time to use the correct terminology to avoid confusion - I think "serial" has been said here where sometimes what was really meant was RS232 :)

    Soap

I think my RSI got worse just looking at that thing :o I was thinking this morning about mounting the guts of a mouse in the surface of a desktop though, so you could just wave your hand around over it. Not wireless, but a similar concept (move the mat, not the mouse) ... Funny this came up just a minute or two later :)
  4. Yep, toys first, stories later. Forget the wiki until you've had your fun ;)
  5. Re: MIDIbox of the Week III (MIDIbox SEQ of PayC) Re: My MIDIbox SEQ... Updated %7 - Some New photos; 1 LCD to replace - 98% done Re: lowest cost DIY illuminated button - the challenge continues... Don't miss the links in the last one, they have pics :)
  6. I've read of this being done by using resistors all of the same value, and at each stop, all the previous resistors are switched into the bus, so the resistance is accumulated, and it works like a pot... Your way should be basically the same in effect, and the digital approach is just as valid... I reckon it just depends on the particular drawbar model you've got, and your level of programming experience, as to which method is most appropriate. Given that you are actually able to choose whichever of these methods you'd prefer, it comes down to a question of whether the extra work is in software or hardware, by coding the scanmatrix handler or by soldering resistors. I think you already made that decision :) My tip, suggestion or obscenity would be : Rock the f*@^ on, and don't f$^&in forget to put it in the f!)% wiki ;D
  7. Man I wish I could help, but I'm a total *nix idiot... Just wanted to give props, cause I don't intend upon being stuck on windoze forever.

    6.8nF caps

They're for the filters. There's a bunch of technical stuff easily found if you feel like googling it but the short version is this: The better the caps, the better the filters sound. Get the good ones, it's totally worth it, especially if you're into synthesis and need them to sit on a certain frequency or resonate at a certain level.
  9. Or the gui-ish wiki version: mios_pin_list :)
  10. You can't go wrong with following the schematics :)
  11. http://wiki.netsynth.org/ ;)
  12. Wilba needs alien thought control protection too! Sometimes when he stand close enough even I can hear them..... "Buy more PLEDs. And Cores. And you must have those cool $10 buttons....buy... the... buttons...."
  13. Yeh it's tough being a pioneer! But we love you for it :-* ;D
  14. Audiocommander has a nice diagram on the wiki.... Maybe you could use the diagrams from the datasheets and the schematics to show the flow from 1's and 0's in code, to voltages on the pins, to the SID, to sounds coming out... And double-line spacing helps too ;) hehehehe
  15. Cool :) PS The reason you're standing all bent over like that is the small screen too low and too far away :) Screen top should be at eye level and arm's length....
  16. I'm not 100% sure how/why it works, but I know the 16F8* doesn't have a W register SFR. Hopefully someone can explain wtf that's all about, obviously the W register exists, but F&^ if I know why it can't be directly addressed.... In short you'll have to MOVWF your data to a variable and do the bitshift there.
  17. Sweet as! Keep it up man :)
  18. Ouch. I think I'll wait until they're financially viable ;)
  19. Well said! I suffer from pretty extreme memory/recall problems, and I've found that although it was a huge problem in my childhood, over time it just caused me to develop other skills like organisation and documentation, which compliment my weak memory. As well as being born with certain strengths and weaknesses, both our specific areas of intellect and our habits will alter themselves over time, and it all evens out. You just have to play to your strengths and protect your weak areas :)
  20. Buy from me. I will take payment in the form of syrup from your maple trees. Wow that's good stuff. Sorry for OT, I had to do it. It was the pancakes, they told me to do it. Wait, they just asked me to do something else... Ohhh Caaaanaadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .......... ;D
  21. The trick is to email them with a list of everything you need, and ask how much to ship it all... Especially if your order is big, it is an incentive to offer reasonable shipping, and a deterrent against profiting from adding to shipping costs as the total shipping cost would then seem unreasonable and they'd scare off the customer. stryd_one, playing social engineer ;)
  22. Hehehehehe No stress bud, take your time, we're all doing the festive thing at the moment :) Just for the record, c0nsumer is a great trader. Everything was totally perfect, couldn't be better. He was fast with communications and shipped stuff fast and cheap and very well packed. Buy stuff from this man ;) hehehe And DrB you can borrow it anytime :)
  23. Good RAID controllers can read the configuration of the array from the drives when the controller has lost it's array configuration, or never had the configuration because it's new, so a dead mobo shouldn't cause any data loss, and in all my years of server support I've only twice seen a controller go nuts and write corrupt data to a good array, so you're pretty safe there, just as safe as standard config. And as for OC, It's not the mobo that's a worry, it's the soundcard. You won't hear it if you lose one or two of the 44100 or more samples taken every second (unless you're superman) but that doesn't mean it's OK ;) I'll leave it up to the individual, but don't say you weren't warned ;D
  24. or in PLED-matching Green No prize for guessing I'll be getting some of those ;) I've found that shipping from Asia to Australia gets very reasonable if you're doing big orders, so if anyone in .au is interested in stuff from this guy let me know, maybe a group buy is in order...? Edit: I didn't see the VFD's :( But he has cheap PLEDs in 2x20, and if it's combines shipping, it'll work out about half to 2/3 the local price...
  25. How about this auction?
