  1. That's exactly why I'm going there! :)
  2. I can't see ableton sponsoring the competition, but that paypal button up there works! ;)
  3. QBAS's keyboard driver :)
  4. What they said.
  5. Heh I doubt that Australia is that small ;) The loss of Steve is a very sad one for all animals :'(
  6. Just my 2c... I got the dick of mucking about with crappy components that aren't just right... I'm in the process of ordering a whole lot of military specification knobs and switches and connectors etc. It's costing 3-5 times as much, and researching the mil specs has taken weeks, but it saves me the hassle later on, and it should still function after being dunked in water or scorched by fire so nightclubs and spilled drinks are not a problem heheheh I'm not saying that's the right way for everyone to go, but just my perspective on the price vs functionality 'debate' :)
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120037703951 Anyone else keen on that or shall I go for it?
  8. Gday filter welcome aboard :) I know it's not as fun as soldering, but the most important first step is to do a bit of reading... The two links at the top of the page will become good friends to you in the months to come :) So grab a drink and get comfy and click these guys to find out pretty much all you need to know :) ucapps.de wiki.midibox.org And if you're still wondering, use the forum search for your answer, and failing that, drop us another post here and someone will help out :) Enjoy!
  9. Heh I've got two of those cases, was wondering if they'd work out OK... They sure do! Nice one mate :)
  10. Must be good, it's Aussie! (I can tell by the coins in the screenshots). More good reasons to get a mac there too mate ;) This video processing is certainly a promising field of growth in IT... I've been saying for years that the next big thing in IT would be user interfacing, as the processing power reached the requirements of the really good stuff like this. It's nice to watch the tip of the iceberg :)
  11. Why not email them and ask if they do price breaks on bulk orders?
  12. Hey 'boxers. The recent beta release of seq24 for win32 drew my attention to the app for the first time since it's initial alpha release and I've got to say I am MOST impressed with it's progress. If you're into step sequencing and haven't checked it out in a while I highly suggest revisiting the link ;) I wouldn't consider a live sequencer under win32, but the thought of a stripped-back linux system running this thing with a good control surface is certainly interesting. I won't have time to start such a project for a little while but if someone's bored I thought I'd drop the idea for some inspiration ;)
  13. OK that one goes first then. It's my 2nd fave drum synth after the rackattack. If the elektron gear didn't cost so much it might be third, but yeh, it seriously rocks. Awesome snares.
  14. I was thinking of an ADD section/formant filter editor ;) I hate that scrolling around to draw the shapes thing... But yeh... Funny you mentioned the WS, I've got an AD model that was next cab off the rank. It's got the joystick and a GLCD but is sadly knobless. I'll do that, then the XD5 and then the RM50 and rackattack, as those last three should be a good start for the K4®, TG500/RY30 and microQ etc :)
  15. Could be a bad PIC... Dud crystal maybe? Have you tried running a different app on the core?
  16. Great to see TK getting some publicity!! :)
  17. OK we all know I hate software most of the time but this is just wicked: http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=175577 Use your webcam to send CC's. Sick. I am on ebay right now buying a webcam :)
  18. Damn I'll have to order more cores now! ;) Not for a DX synth, but I'll program one of these for all my other gear. Unless someone has a cheap TX816 or FS1R ;) The K5000 will be first cab off the rank in case anyone else owns one? ilmenator and gertius this is a great project, thanks guys :)
  19. SMT = Surface mount technology... Same dog, different leg action ;) There are people with preliminary designs for 8x SID boards already, it's certainly doable. Hence those tubes of SIDs in the corner of my lab over there hehehehe.
  20. PM'ing you my email now mate, thankyou :). Did you manage to get in touch with SmashTV? He's a top bloke, I'm sure he can sort something out!
  21. :D So what's the plan with these anyway? Drive them with digipots?
  22. Hey Wilba what about the clothes iron or skillet things we looked at a while back... actually I think the skillet was for reflow soldering but I'm sure I saw an iron used as a desoldering platform of sorts? Can't find the link now of course ::)
  23. Lookin' good :) That's a neat job for hand drilling metal! So what will be your plans for the front panel artwork? I look forward to those pics :)
  24. Nice! :) I'm rather surprised noone has built a PC and midibox into a single case before, it could be great for a software DJ. A few thoughts - You might want to consider shielding the PC away to avoid EMF messing with your AINs... and careful about those fans at the front, I'm not sure if I'd be more worried about blocking them off and overheating the PC.... or standing too close and having them chop my family jewels off! :o
  25. Sweet! I love the concept, look forward to building one :) Maybe you could publish the project on the wiki? Those LEDs are nice too! What are they?
