You could just cut a new hatch out, put some screw posts inside to fasten it with...Plenty of room in there. Maybe even in the neck?

Hehhee Yeh I think you're right... If the copyright notice itself is left unaltered, and the name junkbox was added too, then in fact the junkbox would also be part of that copyrighted material :) I do think it kinda confuses which splashscreen is which - MIOS or JunkBox? OS or application? It's obvious to us of course, but for the uninitiated onlooker, they might get the two concepts mixed up.

Awesome! Can't wait to see it finished! This place is on fire with custom gear right now :D Am I the only one who is constantly impressed?! -
[X] rotary encoders/3mm blue LEDs/$$$ for SID chips

Well I just ordered 4 NOS 8580R5's so I don't think I'll need to kill it now.... Although that PSU is so tasty, and the case.... Maybe I'll try and get a 2nd one :) -
NP mate... There's a section in the Wiki, I forgot to link to it because I forgot that I wrote it already heheheh

Analog effects, was "Midifiying a sega genesis"
stryd_one replied to stryd_one's topic in Miscellaneous
Definitely sounds like we need an MBFX thread. Would be good to get our heads together on this, and a shame for each of us to do this independently when we could all team up :) Maybe TK will tell us about his mysterious VCF box? ;) I had some thoughts on the last post but I'll save that for the new thread if you guys are keen... -
Hi all, It's been suggested that I should post this to the forum, as some people have missed it hiding out in the Wiki, so you guys can check it out and give any feedback you might have: The MIDIBox Sequencer vX is an x0x style sequencer with multiple syncronised clocks which trigger single-track patterns, of which the steps can run programmable functions which include internal control functions as well as more conventional functions such as sending MIDI notes.. It's something like a rack of analog sequencers which can re-patch itself and tweak it's own knobs, which is triggered by independent but syncable clocks. vX It's a big read, but hopefully not too boring ;) Hope you all enjoy it... Please let me know any thoughts/suggestions/problems/wishlists/etc :) Even if you just want to say "You're crazy and that sucks" it would be nice to get some feedback ;) There are lots of clever people here, I wouldnt presume that I could think of enough the good ideas without your help! stryd_one

Hi QBAS, Thanks for testing that code out :) I've been wanting to do so for a long time, and you may not know this, but you are the first to use the code and confirm that it works, aside from TK! I hope that you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to share some details of how you did this, because many people ask about it. Perhaps if you could even share photos, that would be fantastic... But either way, thanks for testing it! I think you will need to expand the matrix because yours is 12x10. You can use a timer to measure the time between the first switch on the key and the second switch. This will tell you the speed of the press of the key, which can then be applied to the velocity of the note. It could be tricky to do this with the scanning matrix. It might pay for you to setup the first half of the matrix for the "1 Switch"'s and the 2nd half to the "2 Switch"s. This will mean that the matrix will be scanned for the initial movement first, and then for the end of the keypress next, which will give more accurate times. One tricky thing is... for polyphonic velocity sensitivity, you will need a timer for each key which is depressed. I'm sure there is a way around this, just haven't thought of one yet ;)

You using some delay IC or custom circuitry? I've been thinking about a box with a bunch of SSM/Curtis/BBD IC's.... Just found a rediculously cheap lot of ssm2044 tonight actually - lots of them, but cheap :) -
Same way, the value of the encoder (0-126 aka 1-127) is stored in the app and the encoder increases or decreases it. There are lots of other tricks too, have a read about encoders :)

Would be cool if you could share the code :) I don't need it personally right now, but it is always nice to share your work with the community so that others can learn from your skills. I think audiocommander is on the money, first you should ensure the AIN is working correctly with a standard device. -
Wanna know what does interest me? MIDIFied analog FX chips. MMMmmm, MBFX :) Anyone in?
-
LOL exactly... LMAO that sounds like me ;) At least your sense of humour is fine!
-
My 2c, I am never sure why anyone uses pots instead of encoders... For sliders and joysticks it makes sense of course... I must admit though, that's a whole lotta control surface you're talking about... Do you really need all that? What's the plan? I'm all curious ;)

[X] rotary encoders/3mm blue LEDs/$$$ for SID chips
stryd_one replied to Wilba's topic in Fleamarket
Yeh it's totally a good deal. I was thinking about selling my C64's, it's the same price, so I'd break even...but those cases are so cool, and the PSU's are handy....... By the time I factor that in, they're still useful (especially the PSU in that 128D, sweet ass)... But spare SID's is a good call too, and I've been thinking about making mods to pair up 2 SIDs in unison, so hey, the more the merrier ;) I've actually just placed an order, I fugure if I end up with spares, I can assemble the parts from chomped up c64's and re-sell them :) -

Actually I was thinking about using the case too... I'm beginning to get the impression that maybe I shouldn't kill it? -
That's awesome!!! I love it man! Please tell us more about that design, it's great! I see what you mean about that screen... Easily enough room for both....I have the code sitting in an open notepad doc waiting to send to you but I will wait until TK says it is OK.

A dremel can sort that right out ;)

MIDI converter for use with the Yamaha BC3A Breath Controller
stryd_one replied to ulisse's topic in Design Concepts
What a bunch of crap Yamaha are talking. If that were the case, then nobody would be able to build a synthesizer that would work with a BC3a, and then you would only be able to use a Yamaha keyboard with a yamaha controller. If that is true, then Akai will be pleased, because they'll be making more sales. I suspect you got some clueless person on the phone, but it doesn't matter. Everything you need is linked in this thread. Hint: Listen to Moebius. Use that schematic above. Use the PSU in the other thread from NorthernLightX to power it. Done. -
Man that's a top design. I will assume that you've pulled one apart (probably many of them), they're just freakin brilliant, the engineering is so damn good. I will never forget looking at the inside, thery're just....so...chunky. Mmmmmmmmm, chunky. Don't drop one on your foot though, yuo'll probably need a plaster cast and crutches ;) mmmhm, 1210's... Smashing the myth that "They don't make 'em like they used to" ;D
-
Thanks man :) Now I just have to see if the seller will ship down under.... Have you guys got searches for "Panel" saved or something ;)
-
I'd still rather a fixed silicone rev of the 4620 to a mega644.... Darn you, Microchip! FIX IT!!! :o [me=stryd_one]goes crazy [/me]

[X] rotary encoders/3mm blue LEDs/$$$ for SID chips
stryd_one replied to Wilba's topic in Fleamarket
Yeh Wilba, you should come over and steal my C64's until I need them buddy :) There's like 6 of them I think, and a 128D, just collecting dust until I get my boards... I'm sure wasted SID's is a deadly sin or something ;) -
Thanks for sharing mate :) Geez I love this place. You guys rock.

Don't sweat it jackan, Smash is a really nice guy and I don't think he will take offense, now that you've apologised and explained. But I could be wrong, so make sure he doesn't pack any explosives with your next order ;) hehehehe Jokes aside... I do like the idea of full kits for standard MIDIBoxes. Perhaps if there was a button on the ordering page which automatically selected all the necessary kits to make certain devices? Don't know how hard it would be to implement, but I'd be willing to assist. No rush of course Smash! Of course there is a downside to this idea, which is that it relieves some of the incentive for people to get to know what they need to do by themselves (IE it makes it easier for people to order, before they've read ucapps.de enough, meaning they come here later asking questions that already have documented answers on the website)
