Read parts list. Get all of them. Easy!

The list of supported chipsets is listed on the wiki, and the supplier should be able to tell you what chip the LCD uses :)

LOL. The forum is more fun anyway.

You'd notice if a guitar weren't plugged in... or a mic... why not a midi controller? The whole purpose of going to the gig (social concerns aside) is to listen to the music. Without an integral part of the performance, the music will be shit, and the crowd would normally notice, if they had a clue. They have a clue about guitars and mics, but computer music is beyond their education, or cognitive abilities, it seems. On that note: I had a think about this... tried to see the other side of the story... And I thought, OK it's possible to not notice that your controller is plugged in. Maybe for a few seconds. But only if the music isn't really live, but played-back. Same as with a guitar or a mic.... Without those connected, the effect will be instant - no sound. If you're playing a live PA and your controllers aren't working, you're going to get no sound. But if you're playing a prerecorded tune or large parts of tunes back, and via midi, throwing samples or fx over it, then the dead controller will be far less of an issue - the music will keep playing. It'll just be kinda vanilla. A quick google around showed me that these guys weren't really doing a "live set" at all, it was a DJ set, with some samples and fx thrown in. Calling it a Live PA is good marketing and poor use of terminology. Believing that marketing hype leads people to hang shit on these guys for "lip syncing" the performance, when in fact the performance is far from reliant upon human interaction at such a level. It's like, if you had a singer with a recorded backing track and one guitarist, and the guitar weren't plugged in, you wouldn't say the singer was lipsyncing. These guys can easily do this kind of set sans-controller - to refer to my earlier example, the controller is not an integral part of the performance - so having it disconnected for a short time is really not a big deal. If you wanna point fingers at unprofessional behaviour, think of the photographer... He's exposing his clientele to bad publicity, either intentionally or by not knowing his subject. Fortunately for him, suckers who believed the "live set" marketing hype will probably be so distracted by hanging shit on the performer that they won't consider it. Bet your ass that the performers and promoters will! Heck, speaking of the promoters... and hey, the performers too, I won't defend them too much...WTF happened to sound check?!? How did this even happen in the first place?....

OMG this is great. I dunno where all these wiki angels are coming from, but I like it! There are a few threads in this subforum about an overhaul that's going on right now, much of it is copy/paste work. Durisian and this are doing work on it right now :) Sure is! Thanks man! God luck with finding a job mate.

Yeh I get all that.... but the cops can confiscate your gear there, for a noise complaint ?!? WTF!

I philosophise about screwing all the time!

What's wrong in that picture is that the crowd aren't rushing the stage. Sadly those of them with the brainpower to notice the missing power connectors are probably too munted to see it.

It sucks that there are three FAQs but if you don't read the whole wiki anyway you'll have trouble ;)

MB-SEQ V3/V4 Control Surface PCB and matching case
stryd_one replied to Wilba's topic in MIDIbox SEQ
Man it's so eighties you should view that pic on an EGA monitor. Top work W! -
Well logic has the environment which is great for this stuff. I know sonar has (had when i used it) an option to either send all incoming midi to the recording track, or only the midi port/channel which was assigned to the track... Maybe there's a similar option in cubase? Cubase has never had much of a midi focus, but I would imagine it has to be capable of multitrack midi recording... Somehow :/

It's a go from me. Anyone else better speak up quick if they want to stop you ;) -
MIDIbox.org says: Drive safely! :D (I was going to encourage you to put that message on the sign when it's moented on the freeway, but I don't want you to get fired from your new job ;) )

I guess your midisport is toast then :( Weird that the us122 worked!! Continue with that then, i guess..... mios hooked to core? Edit2: OK, uploaded... This is why the chatroom should be used here, you posted before i replied, so i saw the preview of your post, without the image... Edit: don't you like chatrooms?

Cool :) Your routing is correct. If you are not running any other MIDI software on your PC, then there should not be any feedback loop. As the midisport is often recommended by others, I would expect it to work... And we know that MIOS Studio works... The only thing that seems to be left out, is the cable. Just to confirm, can you please paste the text from mios studio's input and output monitor windows, into a new post? I don't want a screenshot, I'd like to paste it into a comparison tool, so I need text - and it's important that it's copy+paste, not read+type :) (There should be far too much to type anyway hehehe) Edit: I forgot to scroll your screenshot. Derrr. Sorry. I see it's not receiving *anything* you send. Are you sure that a MIDI cable is connected with one end in the midisport input, and the other end of the cable in the midisport output?

The upside-down pale text is the super-duper-uber-mega-bright LEDs saturating the lens and doubling back. Gnarly bright. I'll let MTE explain why they are so damned powerful :)

Wow, have some doco! :D Thanks phil!

even a jpg should not be so large. I think you saved as bmp. You don't just type in the filename with .jpg at the end, you need to use the dropdown box labelled "save as type" or something like that.

No sweat mate. Here's how to take a screenshot: get the thing you want to show me, on screen hold down ALT, and while holding it, press the 'prt scr' key on your keyboard (then release ALT) (that will copy what you see in the current application, to the clipboard) Open window's 'Paint' application (pbrush.exe, you should be able to find it in your start menu) paste into there, and save as .jpg Then upload the file here :)
