  1. Same here!
  2. That's good news, i'm going to see if he's home today and tell him about this. Do you know Squarepusher? The Voyager my friend has can't understand anything that's as chaotic as Squarepusher. Hope those jumper and firmware tweaks fix that, but it seems it does by the positive replies here!
  3. It seems the problem of RAM limitations seem to pop up more and more, isn't it? Wouldn't it be possible to make additional 'external' RAM?
  4. Why would the bpm have to be set with an encoder? Wouldn't a cv/midi sync function be much more usefull, since is reacts upon a trigger? Or at least make it an option.. ;D
  5. Hmm, that's strange. I've worked with that Voyager thing and it couldn't 'understand' drum&bass for a long time. In other words ;D it would go out of sync after a while. But it understands tekstep (which is a d&b style if you don't know) better, because it has regular snare hits in comparison to d&b that has a lot breakbeat-edits with irregular snare en kickdrum hits which the voyager doesn't seem to get a grip on. But,....all 4x4 'steady' based music (house and stuff like that) went fine with the voyager. Next time i'm visiting my friend who has it, i'm going to do some new tests with it. Just to make sure.... ;D
  6. He people, if you've been waiting so long for the encoders, you can wait a little more time. ;D I've got patience, i'm also still soldering so it doesn't matter to me ;D
  7. Or isn't this possible in Australia
  8. If i would want this extension/conversion of an SB live card, which one is the best to go for? Value, Gold something, Platinum, whatever version there is? If it's the platinum with the extra (internal) control box/bay, would i need an 3rd bay in my pc for the extension/conversion or is it planned as an external box? And will the drivers or whatever software that's needed to run the extension/conversion properly be for both windows OS's and for Linux? Because i'm getting the idea that everybody who's working on this project is developing it for Linux, is this correct?

  13. If you want to BUY great stuff, go have a look at the RME site. RME makes really excellent quality soundcards and midi interfaces and more of that stuff. I've never met anyone who had any problems with RME.
  14. Oehhh, that's really nice! I especially like the 'breakout' LCD box, looks very nice!
  15. Daar heb ik 1.5 jaar gelden ook dingen besteld. Best goed. Ik zie dat ie zn assortiment aardig heeft uitgebreid.
  16. If you dislike wall-adapters and would like the same cable/connection as hardware synths/pc's have (what's it called again...IEE-.... i forgot :D ), you could also build a toriodal transformer inside the casing. These don't produce that much heat.
  17. Sounds very nice TK! I think those high SID sounds really freshen up the track. I'm looking forward to an all TK production. ;D
  18. I got a Yamaha QY-10, which is a portable sequencer. It runs on 6 penlites (AA) batteries. It was sold (It fits) in a VHS videocase/box! That isn't very large, is it! You can find them real easy on Ebay. I got mine for i guess.... 35 euro.

Or you can send the pic and hex file to someone who burns it for you! Lot's of people will lend a hand if you ask nicely ;D
  20. Check your pm's....
  21. The Nomical Project, sounds nice.. ;D I'm building an standalone version of the DB50XG together with an interface based on MIOS. The standalone board only needs an small circuit to interface with the DB50XG. I've put in an an extra opamp circuit for the audio outputs which also mixes the sound to one of the 2 audio output jacks if one is unplugged. This was an idea by Paul Eccles which i unfortunately can't reach anymore. He also helped me with the power supply section which uses an toriodal power supply. I don't want wall type adapters, i want the one with 3 pins, what's it called again IEE... something? The one your pc uses! The MIOS based interface is going the be based on a 'LCD menu vs encoder' type interaction. The menu will display certain sections like an effects, voice, part, main, assignable controllers and a drum kit section. This menu is actually divided in areas which are controlled by certain encoders. In fact, 8 encoders are used to control a max of 8 values which are displayed on the 4 x 20 LCD. 2 encoders control the assignable controllers, because as i've understood correctly from the DB50XG manual, only 2 controle can be assigned at once for all parts, instead of 2 controllers for every part. There are 16 parts and the manual isn't too clear about this. It would mean a difference of 32 instead of 2 realtime controls. A connector (probably SUB-D) is put an the frontpanel for a possible external control box in the future. There are menu controls like 4 direction keys, Enter, Esc, Load, Save and reset. Multiple permanent banksticks will be inluded. 6 buttons for instant editing of the main, voice, part, fx, ac and drum kit sections. And of course a power button and master volume pot. Maybe i'll include a headphones jack. Originally the DB50XG doesn't transmit any midi, but because of the MIOS interface there will be an midi out. Dedicated footpedal control jack for external control on the rearpanel. A Midi-to-COM port perhaps. I'm putting my design in a 19" 2U rackmount casing. Later on i want to build a Mode section which allows to switch between the XG mode and the TG300B/QS300 mode. Possibly GM too, because of the additional midi out to make it compatible with every machine. But that's for later. I first have to start developing my assemble code capacities... ;D
  22. Looks very nice! Surely nice colours! Good luck building the midibox and making the frontpanel! Put some pictures of the SID in the gallery if u finish it!!
  23. Woh, check this one out!! Maybe he used some ucapps info! ;D Spinalcat
  24. I don't know if I or Microchip made a mistake, but i thought i read on the site that there has to be one month between two sample orders. A couple of weeks ago I made a second order after one month and recieved my order even faster than the first one!
  25. Yes, i think all of this is possible with MIOS. I wanted the same interaction of encoders beneath my display and was told it was possible Yes, this should be possible. There are standard functions in MIOS which allow loading and saving. This is a standard option in MIOS, so don't worry about this one. You can save/load multiple setups in/from a bankstick. (but just 1 can be used at the same time) And if i remember correctly, up to 8 banksticks can be used.
