  1. Hi, Steven_C As far as I remember, It isn't possible to use MIDI/PG-200 same time with JX-3P, but with MKS-30 it is... Sad isn't it :) I sold my JX-3P years ago.. when I wanted to get rid of excess keyboards on my setup. It's good for some 2 DCO basses, strings and strange osc sync klangs. It's a piece of cake to PROM new firmware to EPROMS, but where to get dump of firmware?! Anyway.. Steven and Arumblack, check www.analog.no.. could be useful.. Bye, Moebius
  2. SmashTV.. Sorry, I was trying to be sarcastic, as argtrak, speculated 'bout things, which should be clear (and thought as solved) after reading links I gave. Noise.. Ground, decouple, decouple, decouple... And yes, comparators clear signal from steppers (even as low as 5mV) to digital pulses. Bye, Moebius (And yeaaahh..HD stepper is so smoooth.. ah...)
  3. Hi, And then, if you have one more contact on switch, free DIN pin and some coding skills, you could modify application to switch baud rates together with physical interface.. (MIOS_MIDI_InterfaceSet function) ;) Bye, Moebius

  5. Well, What the f**k are those comparators doing in the schematic? (Second link, with pic missing can be reach from: http://web.archive.org/web/20030423083039/http://members.iinet.net.au/~richardh/Rotenc.htm) Bye, Moebius
  6. Hi, Should be very easy. (LED output (hmm. even "matrix"ed?!) triggering transistor, switching motors power) And I have seen those "Vibrating motors" also sold as cheap Surplus. Bye, Moebius

  8. Olympics, phew.. It's bit like "Eurovision song contest" for us, nowadays ;) I'm not a SID/MOD cRAzEE like some Finns (I was a Speccy user, really ;)), and more interested in building a synth :) So, I'm getting 8580s (R5s, even) (More musical filter(?!), and better S/N ratio), and I think my 6851 will be spare.. Well, C64s SHOULD be pretty easy to get hold of here in Finland, anyway.. Still I think I'm going to buy each I can find. I haven't really thought that much 'bout cases. I have some 6U 19" rack cases, which just need new panels. And some of those can be cut to 2U. And for the panels, maybe 2mm aluminum, or 3mm acrylic. Bye, Moebius p.s. I think that adding up "suspected" Finns in this forum and from the gallery it's five.. just five.. There must be more hiding somewhere.

  10. ..Remember to put that 1000uF cap there.. and wire link between IC3 pins 1-3...(For the casual builder: J2 is 5v output, if you use a regulator on core board or input if you already have a good regulated 5v power supply. (Check the schematics against the board layout, and you will see: X1 (a Full wave rectifier), C5 (Power bypass cap), C6 (another Power bypass cap), IC3 (Voltage regulator) build a +5v regulated power supply - connected to J2)) That's ok :) Bye, Moebius [Off, for a week or two.. "Thanks God" I hear you say]

    Steuern mit Midi

Hi, Tom. Sorry, I can't speak german so.. Could this be posted in english, under Midification topic? Bye, Moebius
  12. Hi, As it's already regulated, it should be connected to J2, and 7805 removed, with it's input/output pins shorted with jumper. Read the notes on midibox_ng_switching_psu.pdf. Bye, Moebius
  13. Hi, Jurpo. I know you're a Finn, like me.. What kind of MBSID are you going to build? OR are you looking for 6851s or 8580s.. I bought that C64C as I was sure it would have 8580 inside. Bye, Moebius

  15. Hi, I think this is the policy of TK: And case is your design anyway, right?! (You could even licence that to some company manufacturing silly looking stuff ;)) I think that TK is only trying to protect MBHP/MIOS from a commercial exploitation. Which is a good idea: Some Synth-DIY guru Jürgen Haibles "rework of classic circuits" and even original designs, which he kindly published to Synth-DIY community were ripped off by some german synth manufacturer called Doepfer.. Not credit given. What made it even worse is that Jürgen was collaborating with synth company MAM. Bye, Moebius
  16. Hi, It's a BC337 npn-transistor, in a circuit for adjusting LCD backlight luminance. If you don't have backlight on your LCD, you can just omit it. Bye, Moebius
  17. Oh, That's PG-300, and yes it's a midi device. It doesn't send CC's but SysEx to control parameters, you can find manual for it (and MKS-50, rack version of alphajuno) from: http://www1.ftg.co.uk/studio/mks/index.cfm?mks=50 And just the SysEx implementation: http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufacturers/Roland/Juno/info/Alpha-Juno.sysex.txt I think that using meta events, pots and buttons can be used to send out SysEx, but I really don't know how it's done. Check out source files, as I think Thorsten has used it to control some Yamaha AN1x parameters. Bye, Moebius

  19. Ok, Why not using cheap servos or solenoids connected to buttons next to fader, that would be triggered by peaks indicating clipping?! So that when overload occurs, she would feel button rising?! With servos, it could even be adapted, so that button would have few different positions relative to peak levels. Bye, Moebius

  21. And why not?! ;) The biggest problem is that you need to know protocol specification of the PG-200.. I haven't seen any information on that.. Of course It could be reverse engineered, but then you would need a working unit, a logic analyzer and patience to extract and analyze data streams.. After that it would be pretty easy to adapt something like MB64 to simulate PG-200.. Bye, Moebius p.s. It's a secret (as long as I'm searching for cheap MKS-30 ;D), but JX-3P/MKS-30 Rock! Which one do you have?!

  24. Well, Not being rude: She has more than "sensible enough" ears, I think? Â Why? Your radio stations "master limiter" will anyway fuck up any dynamics on the material, let it be 32bit or analogue tape, let it be -3dB peak or -30dB peak... Just let her hear and feel.. Bye, Moebius
